We had the best trip visiting Paradisus. Everything was perfect from making the reservations to the transportation to and from the hotel with Otium tours. What made the trip the best, were the employees! They were eager to please and did such a wonderful job doing it. Our favorite was Ernesto, our waiter at Hader. We found ourselves dining there more than we needed to just to see him! We enjoyed Erick at the family Japanese night and absolutely loved Abril who we saw nightly for our evening drinks. Our concierge, Antonio, was so wonderful with making every detail perfect and even helped us plan an 18th birthday celebration! I did two spin classes that were so fun and remember riding on the bike listening to Belinda Carlisle’s song “Heaven in a place on Earth.” I thought, wow this resort is Heaven on Earth. The buffets and restaurants were delicious and housekeeping did such a wonderful job cleaning our rooms. They even came during the evenings to refresh everything the last few nights. The minute we stepped into Paradisus to the minute we left it was true paradise!

This is going to be my review and honest from my perspective. I stayed in Paradisus La Perla years ago and had a wonderful time hence why I decided to go to the family side. I was not impressed at all. I had to upgrade my reservation to family concierge just to get some decent times for dinner. The upgrade in my opinion was not worth it because I didn’t feel the concierge part did what I usually see and get in other resorts. The pool was come first serve no matter your status in the hotel. Right then I don’t see the point of a concierge. Usually what has happen before is the concierge would grab pool chairs for you in advance etc and make sure you had a space this didn’t happen. My concierge was okay I didn’t think she did much - she was very nice to my son etc but overall didn’t do much. ||The room needs improvement in upgrades. It looks run down. There was a banging noise all the time I suspect they were doing some sort of construction somewhere. They didn’t tell anyone which was annoying. ||I was in the family concierge side. The food is hit or miss. I had reservations in 5 restaurants and I noticed that some of them had wasted space and they were not full. I don’t understand how its so hard to get reservations. I expected the food to be better but it was mediocre. Cielo was excellent. And Flora was a pleasant surprise. ||The lunch box which was only for family concierge was excellent and the servers were fantastic. Windy the hostess was very nice and Amaya and Selina were my favorite servers. They were personable and such a joy to be around. I looked forward to seeing them during breakfast. ||The pool bar Celsius was great. ||Overall if I come back is bc of the people. They make this hotel great.

Paradisus la Perla, marvellous place. The best pool experience at the Reserve with Barman Raymundo and Ariadna at the pool bar, I hope to see them next time we come back. Both full of energy, politeness, patience and passion in what they do. Discreet and always with a smile. Guys you make all special. Unforgettable people!!! ||Also we had great time with Sebastian (bar man) at the beach bar and Ismael (mesero) at Hadar Restaurant

We have enjoyed other resorts in Playa much more. The food wasn’t great, and the only restaurant with air conditioning is the buffet. Pools were ok and so were the rooms. Great service by the staff. The one major drawback that will prevent me from returning is that the entire resort is overrun with coati and feral cats. The coati, which are a bit like raccoons, are everywhere and not afraid of people. They steal food and other items from bags near the pool, even taking food right off a plate. They fight at night and you can hear them screeching. It didn’t feel like the management was doing much of anything to keep them from bothering the guests. Especially nerve-wracking if you have small children.

This was my second visit to this resort. Our first experience, two years ago, was much better. We enjoyed it so much we brought our entire extended family back, 15 people. The staff at the restaurants often seemed annoyed with us, our bathroom door would not shut, the entire pool area needs to be resurfaced, the beaches are unusable due to the seaweed (may-August) which was super disappointing, the smell from the water was so bad the entire resort smelled of fish. The daily activities were nothing like our first visit- what happened to the pool parties at the water park? My kids loved those! I think the A/C is broken in every restaurant and it’s hard to relax at the pool with cotes constantly jumping in the trash can and going through your bags. There wasn’t nearly enough staff around the pool area to keep up, we were able to order from them once. Both times we ordered room service they told us 45 minutes and it was well over a hour and fifteen minutes. We called to have plates picked up and no one ever came. The employees in the gift shops kicked us out two separate times and were HORRIBLY rude. You also pay adult prices for kids 13 and over, which is fine but then they can’t even do anything without an adult- my 15 year old couldn’t even get lunch at the buffet without a parent. We didn’t pay for the concierge service this time, the staff treats you much different if your staying in just one of their standard rooms. Based on this experience I wouldn’t recommend the hotel, which is unfortunate because we enjoyed our first visit so much.

Pool time was amazing. Rachel and Graciela kept our took care of all our pool services needs. Drinks and food came out promptly. Alexia made us amazing drinks at the bar. If you want to have a good time, ask for them.

I was there with my wife and 2 kids in the family concierge section. Our concierge Nestor was fantastic and the kids were treated to a few surprises! The reason for a 4 star rating is the food was good but not fantastic, the gift shop staff were quite unfriendly (all other staff were great) and there were areas that needed some touching up around the resort. The liquor selection at the lounge was the best I have seen at any resort. Room service, cleaners and beers in the room were fantastic. I would go back in a heartbeat

We spent 5 nights at Paradissus Playa Del Carmen and enjoyed every second of our stay. Upon arrival, Rodolfo greeted us, and gave us a tour of the beautiful property and really made us feel at home. From that second on we The entire experience was great, the food, the people, the beach, the ambiance created through wonderful architecture intertwined into the nature of Playa del Carmen’s landscape. Thank you again to Rodolfo and the whole team at Paradissus Playa del Carmen for making us feel at home, and creating an experience we will never forget! Truly paradise on earth.
