Parador d'Aiguablava

A return visit to this peaceful Parador at Aiguablava – A perfect stay in every sense over Christmas. The hotel was full with guests of all ages – families, couples and even a couple of people on their own. A lively yet friendly atmosphere, a pleasure to meet other quests in the lounge area. Many of the staff have been here for a number of years and are always welcoming – it so good to see them still here, it makes the visit feel like seeing old friends again. The restaurant continues to offer a great choice and good quality. Breakfast is generous and the buffet, as well as cooked items, a great start to the day. Having a treatment in the Spa was a real treat.

Recently completely refurbished, this 4 star hotel has a modern, minimalistic vibe. Airy & light with comfortable seating. We only visited the bar, so I can't say anything about the rooms & as it was night time, I couldn't really see the garden but I will definitely return during the daytime.

It was our first time staying in a Parador, we choose it because we wanted to wind down after a very busy time at home. It was a great choice! There are so many beautiful places to sit and take in the stunning coastline views. Food is good but very regional and may not be to vegans or vegetarians' taste. The rooms are very comfortable and the staff were excellent. We will definitely choose a Parador again.

Our first night in Spain on this trip and it could not have been better. Perfect service, great food and wonderful room with a great view. Not to be missed if you are looking for a truly unforgettable visit. Also, a great location to visit wonderful medieval towns close by. Go up to the castle ruins in Begur for a dramatic view and wander the streets of Pals and other towns.

The Parador is located high overlooking the see an the view is magnificent even from our room. The beach is only a short walk away with nice restaurants. Food was excellent with local flavors. The water in the pool could have been warmer

Fantastic value. Worth staying a couple of nights at least for those travelling around Spain. Small beach which effectively almost private. Restaurants on the beach are closed for winter. Path following the coast for those who enjoy a stroll

Great hotel, modern, plush, comfortable with the most amazing views of the ocean and coastline. Extremely helpful staff. Fantastic dinner, perfectly cooked.

The public areas are spacious and airy and take advantage of the wonderful views. The restaurant was noisy, brightly lit and very large. The food was unsophisticated, homely, more like a refectory than a restaurant.

After returning from Spain to the US, I was giving Wes at Petrabax a detailed look back on a very enjoyable trip. When the Parador de Aiguablava came up, he asked me if I minded that this Hotel was a modern building and not a former Castle or Convent. I admitted that this barracks-like alabaster structure was a little boxy. However, when Gayle and I considered the magnificent Costa Brava views, the superb service, and the surrounding beaches and sights, it doesn't get much better than this. In fact, the only compatible Parador experience on this trip were the amazing Mountain views at their facility in Vielha. Gayle would also go as far to say that she would have given up a day in Barcelona to stay here longer. This modern Parador is a superbly located hotel on the Punta D'es Muts and is surrounded by pine trees overlooking the sea. The Parador maximizes its cliff-side perch with large windows everywhere, including the Restaurant/Breakfast Room, Lounge, various sitting rooms, and even the business meeting area. We spent a lot of time on our room balcony just relaxing and taking in the view. There's also an ocean-side Lounge were we did the same over cocktails. The Parador also operates a separate restaurant and beach in a cove below. However, it was October and that was closed for the season. This is also the perfect place to venture out and enjoy the area's beautiful beaches, cliff walks and explore the coves in a gorgeous natural environment.
