I was just amazed by the views and peacefulness. The natural beauty which surrounds this hotel is breathtaking. The Hotel itself is beautiful with very comfortable rooms. There are a few things lacking. The hotel was unable to provide us with an iron and after repeated requests, the finally told us the 1 iron they had was lost.. Also, it was difficult to get coffee or food on a more casual basis. A coffee machine in the room would have been great. But other than that, it was an amazing place and I would definitely recommend it. I cannot wait to go back to Aiguablava!!!!

great hotel on an unbelievable location 'in' the sea. beautiful architecture. points of attention are the cleanliness of the bathrooms (moisture spots) and the common area's have a great architecture but are not very tempting to sit down (more like a museum). however, even only for the location and the views the hotel is more than worth to stay for a couple of nights

This is our second year at this hotel, and it’s been great. The breakfast is very good, the pool is always quiet, and the rooms are spacious with comfortable beds. The views are amazing, and the beach is just a short walk away. However, there are a few minor signs of wear and tear, such as peeling paint, rust on the towel rail, and some marks on the walls. Outside of breakfast the food is quite average, and I’d recommend driving to Tamariu.

Staff at front of house were awful, rude and obnoxious. It’s quite clear they have no time if you’re English. We are a couple in our 40’s with professional careers and are well travelled. Never have I witnessed or experienced such awful service. To the point of abusive if you dare politely challenge the fact that you never had a buffet breakfast yet it’s on your bill. I wanted to check my bill the evening before a 5am check out and the short bald man was extremely aggressive and point blank told me I couldn’t do this. Screaming and shouting at me in Spanish. I didn’t sleep on my last night due to anxiety of having to check out the following morning. I also witnessed him call the police on another couple who had a baby with them. It was shocking. ||Bar staff and restaurant staff were friendly.

The fact that we return to this Parador speaks of the quality of the stay experienced. We will be returning again and look forward to our next visit. From the welcome at reception to the attention and friendliness we receive from staff, our stay is always memorable. It is the perfect place to relax amidst comfortable surroundings and beautiful landscape overlooking the sea.

I don’t usually leave hotel reviews, but my experience here during a close friend’s wedding was so disappointing, I had to share.||||Despite the hotel being aware that over 60 English guests were staying for three/four days, the reception staff were very unwelcoming. There was no effort to accommodate the language barrier — bills were entirely in Spanish, and when we politely asked for explanations in English, we were met with shouting and hostility, again in Spanish. No one in our group was rude or aggressive, yet the reception staff were confrontational and repeatedly accused us of being disrespectful. So much they even called the police simply because we queried our bills — something that, in the UK, would never be considered a police matter. ||||I had been considering this area for my own wedding, but after witnessing how poorly English guests were treated, I’ve completely ruled it out and would never return.||||As for the hotel itself, basic amenities were lacking. Bottled water in the rooms wasn’t complimentary, there were no tea or coffee facilities, and getting a drink during the day was difficult — the bar was unattended in the mornings, and you had to walk quite far to the breakfast area to get a drink. There were no nearby shops either, so if you forgot anything, you were out of luck.||||The only redeeming feature was the view — beautiful, but sadly not enough to make up for the overall experience.

The hotel is in a beautiful location but unfortunately is let down by the rudest staff I have ever met! From the moment of check in to check out they were unhelpful and clearly did not like British guests. I felt extremely uncomfortable and unwelcome. Me and my husband were staying at the hotel and did not cause any problems, asking simply for the hotel to book a taxi was met with attitude and looks of disdain. The workers clearly have prejudice against English people, the worse being the older man on reception who was very aggressive and rude, pointing in our faces and shouting at us in Spanish! I’m still confused now as to why and what we had done wrong. When we wanted to settle our bill the evening before leaving due to an early flight we was told no, come 5am when checking out there was only one person on reception and lots of people trying to check out meaning it was then a rush to get to the airport. |The hotel itself is nice and lovely location, would never stay here again though.

Amazing location, amazing amenities, very nice Spa and a spectacular view, great breakfast. Unfortunately, the service was amongst the worst I have experienced so far. I would still recommend it, but whoever is considering a stay here should be aware and not expect too much in terms of friendliness of the service ;)

Yelp
After returning from Spain to the US, I was giving Wes at Petrabax a detailed look back on a very enjoyable trip. When the Parador de Aiguablava came up, he asked me if I minded that this Hotel was a modern building and not a former Castle or Convent. I admitted that this barracks-like alabaster structure was a little boxy. However, when Gayle and I considered the magnificent Costa Brava views, the superb service, and the surrounding beaches and sights, it doesn't get much better than this. In fact, the only compatible Parador experience on this trip were the amazing Mountain views at their facility in Vielha. Gayle would also go as far to say that she would have given up a day in Barcelona to stay here longer. This modern Parador is a superbly located hotel on the Punta D'es Muts and is surrounded by pine trees overlooking the sea. The Parador maximizes its cliff-side perch with large windows everywhere, including the Restaurant/Breakfast Room, Lounge, various sitting rooms, and even the business meeting area. We spent a lot of time on our room balcony just relaxing and taking in the view. There's also an ocean-side Lounge were we did the same over cocktails. The Parador also operates a separate restaurant and beach in a cove below. However, it was October and that was closed for the season. This is also the perfect place to venture out and enjoy the area's beautiful beaches, cliff walks and explore the coves in a gorgeous natural environment.
