Parador d'Aiguablava

The Parador de Aiguablava is a delight in every aspect. The location above the beach and with stunning views of the Med and the cliffs touches the soul. The Hotel was remodeled perhaps 8 years ago, but still appears brand new. The views from the rooms are outstanding. Breakfast is excellent and there is also a snack service and a full restaurant. A spa is located at this Parador.. Their staff is excellent and to be complimented. Highly recommended for any occasion. We will return - as often as possible!

We enjoyed our stay. This modern Parador is equipped with design furniture and nice art works, The rooms and bathrooms rate as the best of any Parador including fantastic views. Lastly we encountered very friendly and helpful staff.

Location and common areas are beautiful and the reason we booked originally. ||||Cleanliness of room was terrible and a major distractor from the overall stay. A/C also did not function in either room we were given. Hotel staff just said we needed to give it time to boot up. Followed their instructions and were incapable of getting it to work throughout the stay. ||||Hotel restaurant food quality is forgettable. Considering the location and availability of fresh products, the meals left quite a bit to be desired. Thankfully it was cheap and available on the first night after a long flight, but by far the worst meal of a 2-week trip. ||||This hotel would be wonderful and worth the price if a little more care and pride went into general upkeep. ||||Would probably not stay here again.

We stayed for 5 nights and had a wonderful time. All members of he staff were very kind, and the general atmosphere in the hotel is very welcoming and casual. The terrace, bar and lounge provide a perfect spot for drinks and a small meal. The food served in the restaurant is very good, and all over, prices are reasonable. We would love to stay there again.

The hotel from the outside and inside is beautiful, the views are spectacular. It's a calm place where you are not disturbed. You can walk down to swim in the sea without the need to stay on the beach. Really it could be perfect. But it's not. I was willing to pay more for the suite but honestly this is a theft. Of course you charge more for the views, okay. But it's dirty!!!! The jacuzzi is old and smells! I asked for the showers to be cleaned the first day, it never happened, broken shower gels lying on the floor and the staff doesn't react. The outdoor furniture is dirty and worned out. Okay, things age but you can keep the standard just by cleaning and the state of the room was just unacceptable for the price. Then the restaurant staff. Honestly what the hell, we didn't even know how to react to the behaviours. Borderline rude, some of the behaviours to the foreign clients (french, british or german) are unacceptable for a 4 star hotel! You just cannot ignore people who want to order breakfast or drinks because you don't want to speak English. And then throw plates around like if you're serving animals.

The location is stunning and served as our penultimate location for our month long tour of Spain. If you ever want to feel like a movie star in a place used by them in the past, this is where to be. Early october weather can be hot, with spectacular thunder storms and the sea is still warm enough to swim even if the pool isnt. Local facilities are limited and seasonal but the Parador is a definate wow.

The building is wonderfully designed and in a stunning location. We spent a relaxing week there walking around the coastline and visiting Begur and the Dali "triangle". The only complaint is that there were insufficient staff to provide the expected service levels in the restaurant. Otherwise excellent.

The location of the parador is absolutely stunning and magnificent. Unfortunately the services provided do not meet the expectations. ||Our room was large and had a beautiful view but it could definitely use some love and care. ||The food in the restaurant is of poor quality and bland and most of the staff do not know what they are doing. The fixed opening times of the breakfast room (8 am) and restaurant (8 pm) are not customer friendly||The front line staff could do with some hospitality training. No welcome word, no explanation of the hotel amenities. Just 'I need your passport' and 'here are your room batches'.||The hotel's location is definitely the most beautiful we have ever seen but does this make up for the steep price? Once maybe.||||

After returning from Spain to the US, I was giving Wes at Petrabax a detailed look back on a very enjoyable trip. When the Parador de Aiguablava came up, he asked me if I minded that this Hotel was a modern building and not a former Castle or Convent. I admitted that this barracks-like alabaster structure was a little boxy. However, when Gayle and I considered the magnificent Costa Brava views, the superb service, and the surrounding beaches and sights, it doesn't get much better than this. In fact, the only compatible Parador experience on this trip were the amazing Mountain views at their facility in Vielha. Gayle would also go as far to say that she would have given up a day in Barcelona to stay here longer. This modern Parador is a superbly located hotel on the Punta D'es Muts and is surrounded by pine trees overlooking the sea. The Parador maximizes its cliff-side perch with large windows everywhere, including the Restaurant/Breakfast Room, Lounge, various sitting rooms, and even the business meeting area. We spent a lot of time on our room balcony just relaxing and taking in the view. There's also an ocean-side Lounge were we did the same over cocktails. The Parador also operates a separate restaurant and beach in a cove below. However, it was October and that was closed for the season. This is also the perfect place to venture out and enjoy the area's beautiful beaches, cliff walks and explore the coves in a gorgeous natural environment.
