Great hotel! Room was big, bed was amazing … I think was 1.8m by 2m and the bathroom was really interesting! Everything was extremely clean! The fitness room was clean and relatively well equipped. Price was very good also! Congrats!

This is a beautiful historic property (as are most Paradores). I would rate it much higher, but their heating and cooling policies make the hotel unbearably hot during hot weather. They provided a fan, but still turned off all a/c at night while it was still very hot outside. For a property that sells a luxury experience, their lack of temperature controls make it feel more like a 2* or 3* hotel; i.e., not worth the premium they charge.

Good hotel for us due to location. Staff friendly and helpful, food good but slightly repetitive if you have stayed a few times. New hallway carpets and smart TVs an improvement. Breakfast at the busy times can be chaotic especially if you don’t know what the process is - unlikely anyone will explain it either! ||Pool only opens in high summer, one thing we dislike is that if you struggle at all using the pool ladders the only other option is to use the disabled chair access which you don’t always want to do. This hotel needs to improve pool access with steps and a handrail.

What a gem. I had no idea this hotel would be so modern. The room was huge and everything in the room was perfect and elegant. It’s bang in the middle of student town so you’ll see many students walking around enjoying. Food here was above average so not great. The hotel is huge.

First time in this Paradores, and pleasantly surprised. It is incredibly beautiful, we had a standard room which fully met our expectations. For the ladies, there was a spacious dressingroom to store all kinds of things. Breakfast and dinner are extremely well prepared and there is a choice for everyone's taste. I recommend that you enjoy your aperitif in the courtyard, where there is a pleasant atmosphere. The staff is very friendly and helpful, also in English. The old town part of Alcala de Henares is within walking distance of the hotel, and it is recommended to take a stroll through the picturesque old part in the evening. There is always a nice atmosphere with many eateries and bars. A small downside is that the swimming pool was not yet open in mid-May.

As usual with Paradores service is perfect. The location is excellent, located 3 minutes from Plaza Cervantes and the main University Building. Installed in an old building ( Old Santo Tomas College), the interior is new with a quite modern touch. The Parking is big and roomy, and very welcomed as in the whole area there is no street parking (Follow the instructions on how to get to the parking as they will provide you when making the reservation - If you get to the main entrance is too late) Great restaurant as in most Paradores, but you also have plenty of restaurant close by. Only complain the rooms lighting system us kind of weird as tend to turn on and off most of the lights in the room, and the temperature was too hot in our room and AC didn´t help (It seem was only on heat mode) Overall a great experience

The hotel is a very cool combination of modern architecture embedded in a historic building. The rooms are spacious and decorated with good taste and the staff is very friendly and efficient. The location is absolutely perfect, on a quiet, semi-pedestrian street, right next to the main Plaza and the old university (both worth a visit). However, there are a few things that could be improved and one in particular that is a major issue. The first one is a bit of an annoyance. We have been going there since they opened and have probably stayed more than 40 times. I don't expect any special treatment but I would really appreciate if the folks at the reception at least didn't ask us if it's our first time in the hotel. As I said, it's just annoying, if you've stayed 2-3 times per year for almost 15 years in the same place, it can feel nice to get your loyalty recognised. And, I understand that internet bookings don't allow for personalised treatment but one can always check or mark a guest as a frequent client. The second area for improvement is wear and tear. The rooms start to show signs of aging. The hotels has been open for almost 15 years and floor boards and tiles start to show cracks, doors and windows don't close properly, there are stains and scratches on the walls and doors and the TVs are first generation flatscreens (and, for example, we didn't figure out how to change audio from dubbed Spanish to English ). The third area however is much more problematic. This hotel has the hardest and most uncomfortable beds and pillows I have ever, EVER, slept on. The beds feel like they are made of concrete strengthened with tungsten and the pillows, besides being 2 meters high, are as hard as the bed. Both my wife and I developed such horrible pain in our back and neck that we had to take pain killers for days. We love this place and it has been a home away from home for many years but maybe our bodies have gotten too old for the endurance test the beds and pillows pose. Unfortunately, until that changes, we will not be coming back.

Excellent venue for the town and the historical aspect of Alcalá de Henares. Extremely comfortable and welcoming place. Staff very helpful and informative and the rooms quiet and peaceful. Lots of space to relax and enjoy
