Parador de Alcalá de Henares

Excellent Place to stay. Does not matter for business and holiday, Its a great Hotel to stay. Large rooms, Comfortable beds, Quite sleeping. Very good desined. Lobby is large as well as the bar area with nice garden for a drink. Reception and Bar staff are very helpfull, dinner as well as breakfast is good. Alcala de Henares is a lovely town, very close to the Airport and Madrid city. Famous with Don Quixote and Beautifull Cathedral. Also, Centre is so lovely with historical buildings, nice shops and Restaurants. You will have great time there. Don Quixote house is always busy:)) get ready to wait at the que, or do like I did, take some pictures from outside and have a beer at nearby bars:))

I just arrived yesterday, will be here for a week, and am already struck by how excellent this place is. Really nice rooms with really nice appointments, enormous breakfast spread, coffee in the wee hours at reception if your room hasn't its own machine, really nice bar/cafe in addition to superior restaurant (that starts serving at 8:30 pm, a challenge for Americans with reflux !!), pool (in season), fitness room, spa (extra), lovely giant interior garden that's probably more stunning in season. . . and REALLY REALLY REALLY nice staff, from the reception desk to the bartenders to the servers at breakfast to the guys who didn't make fun of me when I couldn't figure out how to turn on my coffee machine or make certain TV programs have English audio. This is no ordinary parador, and it's a huge complex right in the heart of the city.

The hotel looks FANTASTIC. It’s a designer’s dream. The location is perfect. However, for a 4-star hotel and at that price (high for Alcalá) I was expecting some slippers, more choice of pillows and tea-coffee facilities inside the room. For a tea, I had to go to the bar next door and carry my boiling tea all the way to my room. Also, the mattress is HORRIBLE. I had a horrible night because it was so hard. I would invest in new mattresses. There wasn’t any extra duvet in the room either.I would return to try the Spa and if they change this basic things (tea boiler and mattresses), I would consider staying again since the place is so gorgeous.

It a unique and elegant historic four start hotel set in the old town of Alcalá de Henares, a UNESCO World Heritage city and the birthplace of Miguel de Cervantes writer of “Don Quijote de La Mancha”. The Parador occupies restored 17th-century convent-school buildings, including the former Dominican Collegiate-Convent of Santo Tomás de Aquino. Paradores has had a presence in Alcalá since 1930, when a student hostel opened, and the current hotel expanded in 2009. The Parador’s spa is located beneath the vaulted ceilings of the old convent church, creating a unique and relaxing atmosphere. Facilities typically include thermal circuits, hydrotherapy pools, massage treatments, sauna, and more — ideal for unwinding after sightseeing.

We were in Parador restaurant and sometimes going there for good dinner. The food is very delicious, service is marked hotel with such stars, and for trying good Spanish food, I highly recommend their restaurant that any other restaurant, especially in Alcala )

Look no further for a lovely stay in a beautiful parador that spares no expense on lovely and immaculately clean rooms. The bathroom is stunning, with stone tiles and wood floors. Very close to Madrid, and yet the rooms were quiet and peaceful. The staff is extraordinarily friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. This is good value for my money.

This hotel is a hidden gem in the beautiful town of Alcala de Henares. Modern and spacious rooms, very good breakfast, convenient location (can also be considered for a city-break in Madrid). The pool is a big plus...Highly recommended!

We essentially went to this hotel because of a meeting.|The hotel is located about 35 minutes by train from the center of Madrid.|It is adjacent to one of the oldest university in the world.|Service was correct, rooms were outstanding spacious combining old and modern.|Breakfast was excellent.|Overall great experience.

The hotel - medieval on the outside but stubbornly (perhaps unhelpfully) modern on the inside, also has a very formidable restaurant. Situated close to the medieval town center/main drag of this Madrid suburb, always hard to argue with a Parador. Is it my favorite example of the chain? Not by a long shot. Still pretty good.

Beautiful place in a quaint section of Madrid the Alcala de Henares. Rooms are spacious, well appointed and the service is high level. I though this was going to be more of a boutique hotel, but it is much more.
