Beautiful historic building, nice reception service. We were “upgraded” to a big room in a part of the building far from reception and close to the noisy road. The restaurant was poor. Over fussy meals. The two things on the menu we actually wanted were off. The menu itself is badly translated into English. We gave up and had food from the bar. Club sandwich turned out to be toasted with a fried egg and cheap ham. The pizza had a poorly cooked base, and far too much undercooked local cheese. I like cabrales blue, but not in that quantity, and in pizza cheese should be melted and accompanied by tomato sauce, of which it was desperately lacking. Breakfast had to be booked for a specified time, one if the many aspects making the guest feel uncomfortable. The selection of food was too fussy, richly flavoured, and served chaotically. Each guest is given wooden prongs to select from the buffet, but with no explanation. The bacon was slimy and cold. Toast self service. Scrambled egg tasteless. The buffet was either cold hams, cheese, or over sweetened pastries covered in syrup. The small yoghurts were good.||Room had a kettle but no supplies. Expensive mini bar in small fridge.||However the walk along the river to the town is beautiful.
