Parador de la Granja

The Parador is located near the Royal Palace, the hotel building being rather unspectacular. The reception cannot easily be found if you come from the free public parking lot, as it is not well signposted.||The staff was helpful and happy to provide information. Our room on the first floor was spacious, the bed very comfortable, the air conditioning worked well, and there was also a minibar – we missed a kettle though.||The bathroom was large and clean, with a bathtub and an integrated shower. The view from the room was rather unremarkable, but this did not affect the overall positive impression. Breakfast offered the usual Spanish standard, with hot dishes available upon request. We especially enjoyed the coffee from the machine.||Overall, a large, elegant Parador with friendly service and a pleasant atmosphere. We felt comfortable and would return if in the area.

It is situated in walking distance of the palace and has beautiful rooms with open doors. We were lucky to have rooms at the backside (and not the street side) and in the wing above the tranquility patio, instead of the patio where breakfast was held. That being said, we were not entirely satisfied: the reception was understaffed for such a big hotel and there was a constant cue, which made check-in lengthy, hurried and chaotic, with no vital information at all, and since this information was also not available in the room, we had to constantly ask and thus did not know that we could not enter the gym with our room keycard, but had to pick up a special entry card at the reception, the small pool is closed after mid-September, which was not clear to us when we booked, there was no toilet brush, no coffee facilities in the room. Since there was no information on paper in the room, we were constantly referred to the website, but then we found out that the menu of the restaurant that was on the website, was outdated, but they had forgotten to update the website. It is a great spot, but there is room for improvement.

A beautiful hotel with excellent staff, but lots of small indications of poor maintenance. Stained carpets, non-working A/C, gym closed, pool closed, lots of wear and tear. This must be a very high volume hotel (there was a conference going on while I was there) and so they just aren’t able to keep everything in working order. Again, overall a lovely building but definitely not to the Parador standard.

We love staying at the Paradores as the rooms are always very nice, the beds comfortable, the food outstanding, and the service superb. This one is no exception. In fact, it's one of the better that we've experienced. I believe they are also a great value. Located just a short walk from both the Palace and the glass factory, the Parador is an ideal place to stay.

We enjoyed our stay at La Granja. It is an interesting building reflecting its past involvement in glass making. The rooms are comfortable and spacious. The staff are helpful.

A great location with plenty to do on the doorstep but just a 7 mile drive (or bus ride) into Segovia||This Paradore feels a little sparse and could do with some updating ||No real outdoor space to enjoy a drink - we eat and drank in some of the lovely bars and restaurants in the town

The interior of the building was so beautiful and the atmosphere was quiet yet elegant. The breakfast was also delicious.

The stay was fantastic, with the added benefit of being located in a historic site, just walking distance to the amazing Palace (the "Spanish Versailles")

Everything is OK but nothing is great. Parking is difficult to find. And they really need to invest in WD-40. You'll see what I mean.

I recently enjoyed a stay here. Although it's 10 minutes from Segovia, the beautiful building made it the place to be. The staff were accommodating and I was pleasantly surprised that our room had a foyer or waiting area with a sofa outside of the front door. The room itself and appointments were top shelf. Hope to return some day.

Great facility for off site meetings. Comfy room, large by Spanish standard. Very good regional cuisine in the hotel restaurant
