We stayed at this hotel in January, just after the festive season in Spain. The building is nice and overall well maintained. The rooms are quiet, spacious, and definitely a comfortable place to spend the night.
As many people have mentioned, the surrounding streets feel a bit like Resident Evil, with people wandering around like zombies. That is true, although it’s obviously not the hotel’s fault. During the day it’s fine, but I would recommend avoiding walking around the area at night.
The biggest issue with this hotel, from our point of view, is the food and beverage offering. Breakfast was served in the main restaurant. We arrived at 9 a.m. and were the only guests. There was only one server, more focused on arranging the dining room than taking care of us. The atmosphere was depressing, like having breakfast in an empty church.
After breakfast, I started feeling unwell and had severe diarrhea for the next couple of days. I am quite sure the food poisoning came from the hotel, as the night before we had dinner at the hotel
restaurant and it was completely awful. We did not understand the chef’s creative approach at all. Food needs to be tasty first, and only then can it be creative. It was a very bad dinner.
My question is: does hotel management actually sit down and taste the food being served? If so, how is this allowed?
