As others have mentioned, this hotel is atop a very steep hill with winding road and getting to/from town is either a scary car ride or a very steep walk on the edges of roads. We love to walk but it was not safe. Given that, you'd think the hotel would provide basic amenities, but even before arrival I messaged and called several times inquiring about a taxi service with no response until my final email late the night of check-in.||There is no information in the rooms about the hotel facilities, how to access them, the (limited) hours for various parts of the castle and hotel facilities, food you can access in the hotel, or anything else. The restaurant is expensive, and I can't say how the food is because we went there to obtain an afternoon snack and stood for a while without being seated.||There is no coffeemaker/hot water machine in the room, which is unusual to say the least. We went downstairs to get 2 coffees from the bar and upon checkout realized they'd charged us €36 for two breakfasts. The decor is very chilly, and might have been attractive if the whole effect hadn't been that we were trapped on a mountain alone.||We had planned on a two-night stay but left after the first night to stay at a lovely hotel very near the charming town center of Lorca. While that meant we had to pay for a second hotel, we also saved money not having to take another 5 taxis up and down just to get a meal.||All in all a very strange experience - we stayed in 5 other similarly-priced hotels in southern Spain during this trip and all were wonderful except this.
