Parador de Lorca

This was our first stop, for two night’s, at the beginning of our much longer road trip of North Eastern Spain. Never having stayed in a Parador before we had no other experiences of this group of luxury hotels. All the staff (Reception, Pool, Cleaners, Restaurant and Cafeteria) were professional but so friendly, cheerful and helpful when we had questions. We ate on the Cafeteria terrace on both evenings, the menu was extensive, very tasty and surprisingly economical. The room was large, exceptionally clean and very spacious. The only observation I would make is that the water pressure in our particular room (725) on the shower was very low and the water temperature was warm rather than hot, but this did not detract from an otherwise very pleasurable stay.

Amazing place - a great discovery. The quite new Parador is already a hit with local travellers, but not yet discovered much by international tourists. Unbelievable location, fitting in almost seamlessly in the great castle grounds (with the Jewish quarter excavation right underneath- well worth a visit). As always with the Paradores: impeccable service, professional, very well kept. Great food, good wine selection; the bar unfortunately a bit of an afterthought. The architecture is a highlight. |A definite recommendation if one wants to bypass the usual Costa tourism (and shock rental car people "You are going to Murcia?!")

Whilst I tend to prefer the older, historic paradores, this one is excellent. A modern building but it does blend in with the historic surroundings. Warm welcome and delightful staff in all areas. Rooms are very comfortable. Dining is a real treat.

The hotel is quite unique in its presentation being built into a castle wall and has fantastic views around Lorca and surrounds.|It has quite a clinical, modern museum feel throughout which I can only assume is what the designer/architect/hotelier wished to achieve.|Our Junior Suite room was very spacious and had beautiful views from each of the windows. Cleanliness was first class.|The staff were very helpful at all times and breakfasts were excellent with a-la-cart options.|Apple maps struggles to get you to the hotel easily so beware. The reception staff are trying hard to get something done about this issue.

The hotel was excellent in most aspects. The views were amazing, with seating areas spread around the hotel to take advantage of them. The breakfast was fantastic. The sleep was spoilt by the bed being far too hard. We had planned to swim before leaving but hadn't been told the pool was only open in the afternoon-evening. If we had realised then we would have switched out plans to ensure we had a chance to use the pool. We would recommend the Parador de Lorca to anyone. Sign up to their loyalty scheme to save money.

Booked 2 nights here 4 months ago and were excited to come to another Parador ||Sadly it did not live up to other Paradors ||On checking in we were given a twin bedded room which we were furious as I had emailed the Amigos club to say it was our anniversary and was told it would be passed to the hotel . Eventually we were given a double||Dinner the first night was rushed as no sooner did you put your fork down the waiter put the next courses||BUT the second night was hell , there were 4 large table of bikers who made everyone’s life hell , they were so loud it spoilt the evening . Even more so the staff couldn’t cope . We booked for 8.30 but had to wait an hour before our first course ,then our main course another 30 mins ||We were told that the big parties had priorty ,so why take our booking if they knew they couldn’t serve us . Starting to eat at 10 pm meant nearly 11 before we finished ||Very disappointed

First impressions were outstanding, and the room was lovely — clean, well presented, and comfortable. However, a few missing touches meant it didn’t quite feel special. There was no complimentary water in the room, no dressing gown or slippers provided for the spa, and the room lacked soundproofing and personal details.||||The spa itself was pleasant, but the pool looked grubby and uninviting. The spa area would really benefit from a few loungers, especially when fresh fruit and tea are served — there was nowhere comfortable to sit and enjoy them. Some clear guidance on how to use the spa circuit would also have been helpful.||||The food was nice but quite average — nothing particularly memorable. The choice was limited, and the English translations on the menu weren’t very clear, which led to some confusion. It was also disappointing to see the same items on the cafeteria menu appear at the breakfast buffet. The staff were friendly and welcoming, but the language barrier made communication a bit tricky at times.||||One final point — more disabled parking spaces would be appreciated, as accessibility can be a concern for some guests.||||Overall, the hotel has some lovely features and a lot of potential, but with a few improvements to service, food, accessibility, and attention to detail, it could offer a much more memorable experience.||

Unpleasant, lacks welcoming, spa and massage uncomfortable and expensive. You cannot smoke on the terrace only in front of the hotel. Service is slow. Lots of construction going on which made our visit uncomfortable.

Very good experience from this stay. The location is exclusive. Amazing views, beautiful rooms and the whole hotel is just something else. Staff was nice and friendly, just the bar closed really early :/ No experience with the dinners but the breakfasts offered huge variety and were the best among our other visits in hotels in Spain.
