The Parador at Plascencia provided a great stay for our two nights. Best pool of our trip around Extremadura. Really clean and well maintained. Food in the restaurant was top class at a reasonable price. Most characterful bar. Overall the building and comfort of the stay were exceptional.

Return visit after six years, The hotel was undergoing some renovation which did not effect our visit. A typical parador experience (we have visited over sixty) The staff were all pleasant and helpful. The memorable one was I think called Lolo who served a couple of busy breakfast settings on her own but when we spoke to her had a great sense of humor and again in the bar at lunchtime. We will definitely return

Stopped by the café for lunch at around 1pm and were very curtly told that if we wanted to eat we had to order immediately, because kitchen staff were about to go on their lunch break (absurd, what kitchen closes at lunchtime? In spain this is usually 13-15pm). Our food arrived half cooked, fridge-cold. Quite an unpleasant experience. We had stayed the night and finding our way driving out of the city was a nightmare, we almost got stuck in several narrow streets. Bad experience overall.

We had the most incredible stay in a suite at the Parador de Plascensia. We stayed two nights on a half-board basis, and we were completely satisfied with the accommodation and food. Most staff provided excellent service, particularly in the bar and restaurant. We have stayed at 20+ paradores over several years, and this may well be our favorite. We would recommend the beautiful drive through the Valle de Juertes as a day adventure.

The rooms were cold. The common areas noisy due to building work. Groups of tourists who appeared to be on tours of the hotel were taking photographs of the bar area when we having a drink. Hardly a relaxing atmosphere.

The walled part of Plasencia is very old and interesting. The Parador is located within it and the interior of the building is fabulous. Our suite was very comfortable and pleasantly warm. Clearer directions from reception would make it easier to find the rooms.|There is a charge of €15 per night for parking in the garage, this does include use of an EV charging point at no extra cost.

Fabulous room, pity there was so much outside noisy work going on, some staff quite blunt and off hand but the younger ones were a delight. Suggestion - perhaps dinner could be a little earlier, say 8pm? If you have travelled all day and are tired, waiting until 8.30pm - and then taking ages to be served - was not the best although we know paradores normally do dinner at 8.30. Paradore itself was beautiful and quiet, a real pleasure.
