Paradors can be variable in essence in Spain. This however is an exceptional one.|The staff, even with their heavy workload are really helpful and friendly. |The situation in this wonderful historic town is amazing. The rooms are of a high standard and well maintained. |Breakfast is massive and exceptional and the bar meals on the terrace are a great place to watch the sun go down. |Our 2nd stay here and we will be back!

Staying at this Parador is like going back in time. Perched on the edge of this beautiful, ancient village, with its stoned, narrow streets, the Parador balances delicately between the ancient and the modern worlds. Views from most of the rooms are wonderful. The restaurant serves imaginative dishes and the service is excellent. Even in the heat, it is possible to find a cool place to sit.

From the direction of Huesca on the A21 as you reach the lake Embalsa de Yesa there is a new viaduct over the river which is signposted Sos del Rey Catolico. This leads onto a new dual carriageway road that one assumes takes you all the way to the village - it does not! After several miles the road runs out and turns into a rough mountain road for about 15 miles before you return to a proper road. The direction sign over the viaduct is therefore misleading! Stay on the A21 instead and you will find a good tarmac road later to take you to the village.

Quiet historic location, beautiful hotel, great food and friendly team. The surrounding area is wonderful for a stroll too, with picturesque views across the area.. great place to stay, loved walking around the tiny cobbled streets too in the evening..

A stunning parador in a beautiful setting which should command five stars always, however a few little niggles let it down. We arrived for our first of two days and booked a slot in the very small garage (five car capacity) for both days and nights. The day, driving in an open sports car had been extremely hot, an air temp. of 37 degrees recorded on the satnav, so a shower before dinner was essential. Unfortunately the "bracket" holding the shower head wouldn't tighten up, meaning the shower sprayed the bathroom more than the person. Not a good start to our evening and not up to parador standards. Dinner that night was absolutely superb, the octopus being especially good. We spent our second day there, visiting Pamplona. We returned mid afternoon to find our parking space, which costs quite a lot, occupied by an Irish registered motor bike. Fortunately, there was one empty space for the night still available, so a potential major problem, given the nature of our car, was avoided. Given the intricacies of getting a space and querying that it was ours for two nights, we did feel somewhat let down. When we eventually parked up, we went to reception as we had forgotten to book a table for dinner. We couldn't get a slot for our preferred time so booked one for 9 pm., we were, therefore, most surprised to arrive in the dining room on time to find out from the restaurant manager that there was no booking in our name or against our room. I must admit that he was somewhat annoyed that our reservation had not been put into the system, but he did find us a table and as with the previous night, the food was superb. Our final grumble was not really with the parador but, we assume, with a guest in the room directly above ours. We were woken up with the sound of furniture being moved around at about 3.30 am. At 5 am. It sound like a group of tap dancers on the floor above and just before 7 am. banging and stamping noises in general. Somehow not conducive to a good night's sleep. We have stayed in many paradores over the years and indeed, this is the 8th. of 11 nights in paradores on this particular road trip. In all those times, going back several years, we have given 5 stars for everything and rightly so, but this time we felt that the shower, the parking and the dinner reservation were not up to the usual high standard.

Sixth visit here with different family n friends. Checkin and checkout slow and painful. Not enough staff at breakfast meant the two on duty were unable to do their jobs properly, long waits and impolite service. Manager arrived at 09:30 to refill the dishes when the rush was over. Unforgivable. But the building is generous, quiet and comfortable, beds and bedding excellent, food choices great and it is a good base for local sightseeing.

An amazing building in a stunning location, probably the best "all round" Parador we have visited so far.||A good size, comfortable bedroom, with great views.||Excellent food in the restaurant, which, with the coffee shop, is in a location to makes the most of the views.

A beautiful little town in Spain. The residents make such an effort to trim up the town and make it so festive. They even pipe music through the streets. A magical experience.||||A fabulous parador. Superb restaurant. I cannot recommend it highly enough. Parking is restricted in the garage underneath the hot. I think they had 5 spaces. We have a large 4x4, Bay 5 is the only one ours would fit in.
