Parador de Tortosa (Tortosa, Catalonia) 1 Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"In a medieval castle on a hill which offers fine views of the fertile plains of the Ebro river. Its magnificent rooms evoke the atmosphere of past times, without disregarding modern comfort. Dining room with a predominance of stone and wood, with outstanding Gothic windows." - Tablet Hotels

We decided to spend two nights in the Parador de Tortosa because we wanted to stay in an historic place like the old castle of Tortosa. WE were not disappointed. In spite the fact that there are major restoration works in the old walls of the castle, which precluded a clean view of the old building, we had great time in the Parador. Good friendly service, nice clean room, great breakfast and a nice bar with a good service at reasonable prices. We used the pool which was all right to fresh up after a long and hot summer day visiting Tarragona and surranding area, Overall a great and positive experience. We look forward to try other Paradores in Spain

This historic hotel is high above the City with fantastic views over the City.|Though originally from the 1920s it is a modern hotel with full facilities.|Rooms are big and so are the bathrooms. Has all amenities except coffee machine.|Breakfast is excellent with wide varieties.|2 restaurants. A cafe for light meals and a full scale restaurant.|There is also a big pool.|Staff very friendly.|This hotel is fir guests with cars (ample parking) as high above hill but a taxi to centre is only about 5 euro.

A castle on the top of a hill in the city center, sympathetically converted into a pleasant hotel. Nice lounge area, and the swimming pool has great views over Tortosa too. Check in is slow, and rooms a little old fashioned but otherwise a very nice place to stay for 1-3 nights.

**Be aware before booking - outdoor summer pool does not work in summer** It's a nice hotel with friendly staff. It is very well located within walking distance of key attractions and offers good value for money. As other users have written, it is a bit worn out, but everything works properly. The layout is a bit strange though; for example, when sitting in the bar/ terrace, you are facing the parked cars overlooking the car park. The outdoor pool is closed in summer due to renovations – these could be carried out during other periods. It doesn't look like it will open soon.

Interesting place and interesting surroundings. Unfortunately, the time of year was not an easy time to visit the city due to the excessive heat. However, trips to the nearby Ebro delta were feasible and visits to refrigerated restaurants, like the one in the Riudebre site, were at hand.. Boat trips of around 1,5 to 2 hours are also entertaining in the late afternoon.

Super beautiful hotel in a lovely hill! Staff super friendly. It is great to go and relax. The city itself is not very big, not too much to see. But the stay at the hotel is worth it!

Undoubtedly, this is the worst parador I have ever stayed at. During the first night we were awoken by BEDBUGS and were bitten in faces and arms. Obviously, we asked the reception to be moved. |Due to the seriousness of this unpleasant incident, we expected the parador staff to ask after us the morning after. No one did it. The parador manager neither showed up nor called us up. Even more, they charged us for that night without offering us any compensation. Their dreadful customer service was even more regrettable than the incident itself. As a result, we filled out a complaints sheet.
