It's a while since I have stayed in a Parador and it all flooded back when I arrived.||You choose a Parador because why would you choose to stay in a modern hotel when you can stay in a castle? I remembered that there are some reasons!||- it's hard to make a castle feel warm and cozy. The dining room is grand, but also a little hard to feel ambiance. The rooms are a bit monastic etc.|- it's a old building. My room smelt a bit, and the bathroom was very old fashioned|- there are few amenities in the room. No coffee machine etc.|- the clientele is inevitably touristy. But hey, I was a tourist too. But you get a very concentrated tourist clientele vibe, undiluted by business people etc.||The staff are nice but the processes are outdated (long to check in). The food was good in the restaurant - not stunning, but sufficient standard.||As others have said, there is a lot of building work so you don't get the wow of an ancient building right now.||Go in the right frame of mind (I was solo, and just needing a bed for the night which is not the right frame of mind). Just don't expect a really luxury hotel experience. Pricing is fair but you could find a better room quality for the price outside of the Parador concept.
