Another parador that truly lives up to the reputation for excellence all round. Stunning views across the valley towards the second parador, which is currently undergoing restoration. Excellent dinner, and great wines to go with your meal. Had a wonderful time sitting on the terrace after dinner, watching the sun set. The pool, whilst we didn't use it, looked very appealing. Very friendly and extremely helpful staff, especially when one's own command of Spanish is not what you would like it to be.

Yet another great parador! Stunning views. Friendly and helpful staff. Pool area is great. Restaurant is really good. Rooms could use an upgrade but given the rates they charge, there's really nothing to complain about.

The hotel was not busy. The environment outside the hotel is so tranquil, all you can hear is birds. But the wooden floors in other people’s bedrooms means that noises travel into your room, enough to disturb sleep!||The Parador is lovely, staff are very friendly, food was excellent, there are beautiful views in all directions.||There is a fantastic swimming pool, but despite it being nearly 30 degrees and unbroken sunshine, it could not be used because “it doesn’t open till June 15th”! ||Parador internal bureaucracy 1, customer service 0!!’

Grateful for the room upgrade and the car charging. Helpful staff. Recommended. Free castle tour which unfortunately we had insufficient time to take advantage of.

We had a smallish room by Parador standards and the ambience of the hotel is less reminiscent of its origins than is usually the case. The hotel is situated on a hill, just outside the town with good views. The town itself has little to offer compared with many of its Spanish counterparts. The food is barely average by Parador standards. Note that, unusually, the cafeteria is closed when the kitchen restaurant is closed, which means no lunch or snack service between 14,00 and 21.00. Private (unsecured) parking.

This tranquil parador on the Spain/Portugal border is one of my favorites. It’s not fancy, but it is charming, welcoming and just a super place to stay. The staff is amazing. The views are beautiful. The restaurant is excellent. We’ve been here three times over 20 years, and every time, it is romantic and pleasing.

The hotel is good value, and in a lovely spot with far reaching views over the valley. Great swimming pool area. Verin is a mid sized village that isn't, to be honest, as attractive as some and I think that's reflected in the quality of local bars and restaurants.

Paradores are generllay overpriced all over because usually you get truely historic hotels for mostly unjustified rates. This one makes a bit difference if you reach out for the tour operator rates of some spanish websites (60€/night double-room). ||They views are lovely (we had castle view) and the area is super quiet in the middle of the excellent Monterrei vineyards.||We had a Wifi Outage ("manana" will be fixed which means in Spain, 3 days or 3 weeks) but the curly young lady at the reception made this difference: always positive thinking, complete comitted to fullfull 100% customer service it was just a pleasure for us to stay in this place.||We didn't try the breakfast (city has some Spanish standard options) nor the dinner. Pool is closed till 15.6. every year!||Restaurant alternatives: Regueiro da Cova (Vernin) or Vinotheca, O Segredo Do Retiro (Retiro de Conde at other village),
