Parador Cruz de Tejeda (Gran Canaria, Canary Islands) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Spain’s state-owned paradores are unique for their ability to offer experiences the private hospitality market can’t — such as this, a remote 43-room hotel high in the mountainous interior of Gran Canaria. Part luxury hotel, part eco-lodge, part hikers’ refuge, it’s safe to say it’s unlike anything else on the island. The spa is an expansive (and immersive) one, and the restaurant is a surprisingly upscale affair. The hotel’s infinity pool, with its panoramic view of the surrounding volcanic landscape, is a highlight, and the town of Tejeda is just a few miles away." - Tablet Hotels

The location of this hotel is amazing. We had 3 nights here. Room in the main building spacious, large private balcony with table chairs, sun beds and shade. Lovely style and feel to hotel. We did the spa one day and the Tejeda circular trek to cloud rock the other. Amazing sun sets. Didn't enjoy the hotel restaurant (food uncooked, replacement thrown together and couldn't eat and over charged us for bread didn't have and water didn't order, service charge steep), we ate at Tejeda the other night which has lots of choice. Local bar in village a bit poor (even the coffee was bad) but the small hotel next door do walk in breakfast and are really friendly. |Staff friendly. Perhaps could do with a bit of maintenance here and there as room had a few issues like Aircon couldn't be turned on and fridge not working, plug in bath needed fixing but all things that could be addressed by sleeping with patio door open, ice bucket and removing the plug. |Such a shame the restaurant isn't on same level as the hotel otherwise would have given it a five! Still worth a stay though 😊

An absolute treat of a hotel. Located in the mountains of Gran Canaria, you get tranquility, amazing views from all rooms, and a sky glittering with stars at night. Add in all the quality of a 4 star hotel, and you have all the ingredients for an amazing stay. Food in the restaurant and cafe is top quality, rooms are spacious and modern feeling with a hint of Parador traditional, and the staff are of course all very welcoming. Highly recommended for a romantic break.

We just stopped for a coffee and cake at the panoramic cafe and enjoyed the breathtaking view. I definitely want to come back and stay at the hotel!

Great Parador for a break on the camino ! ✅ The village of Cruz de Tejeda is small, only 2 accommodation options. It is welcoming for all pilgrins. It’s not cheap, but de rooms are good - very clean and spatious. Also the Spa service are great for a relaxing afternoon. 🎟️ Booking in advance is mandatory. You can stamp your credentials there. Highly recommended. Gracias a todos ! 🥾 Camino de Santiago - Gran Canaria - day 2 Visited on 19 September 2025

Stunning views. Takes your breath away. Gorgeous linen and towels. The hotel has an earthy feel. The rooms are slightly dated but comfortable. The TV old with no Netflix on remote. No english channels. There is no bar in hotel. Just a huge reading room with no TV or games. There is a tiny cafeteria with uncomfortable chairs open to the public. The hotel price point should include hotel guest bar within lounge. If you aren’t a hiker walker or cyclist theres nothing much else to do. The restaurant is overpriced and overrated we ordered spinach risotto (which arrived cold) tasteless and fish balls small portions. Waiters were rude. Breakfast was no better staff issues no service. The girls were spending more time doing tablecloths. Sat waiting and I tried speaking Spanish to ask for breakfast tea and had to beg for fried eggs off main menu. The coffee machine was really temperamental. The spa needs cleaning the tiles are dirty and needs regrouting. The glass windows need cleaning. The hot-tub was luke warm needs heat to stop germs. Not great. We paid extra 35 each for this. Overall dissatisfaction and disappointment to be honest. This was the most expensive hotel we visited in Gran Canaria.

A fabulous location with amazing views. We went half board and the restaurant food and service was acceptable in a very impressive dining room. The breakfast was excellent. If you are English, take a travel kettle and tea bags. One very minor quibble - I was a bit disappointed to be charged for water in the room as I would normally expect one free bottle per guest per day.

I liked the size of the room. Comfortable pillows. Beautiful view from terrace. I definitely will recommend staying at Parador to my friends! There is opportunity to make a reservation for a swimming pool and sauna (it’s extra cost, but worth it if you choose time slot with less people, around 17:00 it gets too busy). Only minus I found - was breakfast.

The views from this Paradore are amazing, the Spa is worth paying for because it is clean, has restricted access, a sauna and hamman and a pool with a breath-taking view. We also enjoyed their breakfast and dinner. Thanks to the friendly staff.
