Parador of Cruz de Tejeda

We had a wonderful stay at the hotel, perched righton top of the mountain in the heart of Gran Canaria. The location is truly unbeatable. Our room is spacious, comfortable with a lovely balcony that made the most of the panoramic scenery. When the weather was good, the view from the balcony was absolutely superb. We opted for half board, and the restaurant did not disappoint The food was fresh and well prepared. Breakfast was enjoyable with the option to order hot food, the pastries is particularly good. A fantastic place to stay of you want peace, incredible views.

The view is great given nice weather. The restaurant service (especially at dinner) is terrible as nobody took our order after waiting for an hour. The food itself was alright once we had it taken up to our room (the kitchen was quick). The receptionist was quick to arrange this when we explained the issue. The spa is also quite nice as far as spas go in Spain.

Lovely hotel with fantastic views. We were lucky with the weather definitely but the views over the mountains with clear views of Mount Teide on Tenerife were to die for. The air felt crisp and clear and there were wonderful sounds of woodpeckers. Our room with a balcony was great. The food on the restaurant was very good. Staff were lovely. Beautiful sunsets.

An absolutely stunning spot with spacious, comfortable rooms & a fabulous spa. The breakfast buffet is fantastic, but only opens at 7.45am (or a little later if the staff are running late), & there's no way to get a coffee any earlier which was a minor frustration. But watching the sunset from the spa jacuzzi was one of the highlights of our trip.

I really wish I could say we had a good stay, but this hotel made it tough. From the moment we arrived, the reception didn’t even look at our faces. There was no welcome and no interest at all. That set the tone for everything that followed. There were bugs right in front of our room door and the showers were dirty. The hotel bar was even worse. The barman threw a fit because we said we did not want beers. It was completely unprofessional. Breakfast was disappointing. Mostly frozen pastries and cold fried cheese. Not what you expect from a hotel at this price. The only bright side was the service staff, who were kind and tried to help. And the hotel clearly trusts its view because that is pretty much the only positive thing going for it. I would not stay again.

One of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had Staying at Paradores Cruz de Tejeda was an absolute disappointment from start to finish. The most shocking part was the incredibly rude and aggressive staff, both at the front desk and in the restaurant. The employees genuinely seemed annoyed by the mere fact that guests existed, as if serving customers was an unbearable inconvenience. The rooms were worn down, outdated, and poorly cleaned. Dust, tired furniture, and a general feeling of neglect made the stay anything but comfortable. For a hotel that claims a certain standard, this was completely unacceptable. Dinner was another low point. The food was low quality, bland, and poorly prepared, and the hostile attitude of the restaurant staff made the experience even worse. Instead of trying to improve the situation, their aggressive behavior only added to the frustration. Breakfast was the final insult. Despite it being included, the staff didn’t even bother to serve coffee or the hot items promised. There was no initiative, no service mindset, and no care whatsoever. Overall, this hotel feels badly managed, staffed with the wrong people, and completely indifferent to guest satisfaction. I would strongly recommend staying elsewhere unless you enjoy being treated badly and paying for it.

Beautiful place with an amazing view but apparently woefully understaffed - at least when we were there. The hotel does not have a bar per se but a lounge area with table seating only. If there are no sitdown tables available you’re out of luck as they will not serve you directly from the bar. The single bartender could not come close to keeping up with the guests. Likewise, for breakfast they seem to have one lady who was frantically trying to run around and could likewise not keep up with breakfast orders. In check in we found the staff person to be short and not particularly friendly. Maybe this was just a situation while we were there but it seemed to be a pervasive issue in every aspect of our experience there.

When we arrived they put us in room 501 (which is an attic room with NO balcony). Only 2 rooms on this floor (502 too both arrowed in photos) . A long dark room which had no balcony or proper shower !!! Like a naughty boy's cupboard! Never been so DISAPPOINTED in my life to be honest. So looking forward to the room balcony views for my birthday which was why we booked it. , To see the views we had to stand on a chair to properly look out of the velux windows. I complained straight away and they said to look at the terms and conditions !! I think every other room except these two have fantastic balconies. There was not a proper shower in the room either (see photos) Next morning we were moved to another room with a balcony which was great with views and a good shower. Breakfast was fine. We ate out in the evenings down the road due to other reviews |So if you are considering this place beware of the two attic rooms in advance , The website is a bit deceiving about the attic rooms not mentioning these facts. We will go back but not to the naughty boy's attic . We were told to book a superior room to avoid the attic by the staff !!
