I was using the parking at this great place and encountered a very nice lady at the public bathrooms named Rachel. She was charging a 1$ to use the bathroom but she kept them super clean and was very courteous, professional and even told us to consider staying with them next year. Explained how she took pride of how clean her team would leave everything. She spoke so highly about this place and we will plan our vacation next year thanks to her and her kindness and professionalism. Thanks Rachel ❤️ We hope to find you here next year.

I would not recommend staying here overnight if you are traveling for a vacation and expecting a comfortable stay.  This is a beachside campground with cottages.  The cottages were musty and required humidifiers.  There are no glass windows, so it is loud all night long, either from other visitors/dogs or birds/bugs/animals.  The internet did not reach to our cottage.  The place allows outside visitors as day passes, which makes the "resort" crowded and the beaches full.  Other visitors do not abide by the signs, so the basketball courts next to our cottage were being used as early as 0700am.  The cottage needs major updating and had torn dining chairs, a gas stove that only half worked, very little hot water. If you want to stay at a campground at a high price, then go for it.  It is rustic and not as glamorous as the pictures. On a positive note, the staff did bring us extra towels and pillows when asked.  Not extremely friendly but not rude either. The food was very good and the servers were very nice.

Came here for a beach day. Parking was very accessible and had rentable umbrellas. The beach had a bit of debris but overall it was very nice. The water is crystal clear and refreshing. Great little spot to chill for the day. Make sure to wear sunblock 'cause the sun is relentless.

I would not recommend this place. We stayed in a room with two beds that was part of a 6-room cottage. It was way overpriced for what it was, and we even considered losing our money and staying somewhere else. The people at the front desk and security were not helpful during check in. The woman at the front desk wasn't friendly and had no knowledge of the area. The room we stayed in was outdated and in disrepair. There was a bedside lamp that we couldn't use because there were no outlets near the beds. The bedsheets didn't actually fit the beds. The bathroom was super tiny and covered in mildew and had gross fixtures; there were no hand towels. They ask that you not flush toilet paper, but don't provide a bin with a lid. Our AC, while functional, made a crazy sound all the time (thank goodness I brought ear plugs). The wifi was awful - you won't be able to use your phones or watch TV. We were hoping to have a nice view, but our view of the beach was obscured by a giant wooden sign for the Villas. There's also tons of debris on the beach right outside the cottages. My son was very excited to swim in the pool, but the water was cloudy so we didn't take the chance. We ate at there twice. The food was average at best, and one of the servers was super unfriendly. All that being said, great location and walking distance to an awesome beach. As long as you don't spend any time in your room, you'll be fine!

Amazing service. Have your own private beach, kitchenette and fridge, AC in every room. We loved our stay! Can't wait to go back.

I booked a four‑person cottage at Parador Villas del Mar Hau for two nights at a total of $517.22, fully expecting to enjoy every advertised amenity on the 3 days of our stay. On the day of checkout we planned to go to the beach, rinse off at the communal showers and enjoy the pool. Yet as soon as I handed over my keys at noon on the day of checkout, staff informed me that I could no longer use the outdoor pool or communal showers. At the very least, I’d pictured rinsing two sandy, salt‑crusted children under the communal showers after a day at the beach. Instead, we were barred outright. The moment we checked out we were treated as if our stay—and our access to basic facilities—had expired. Meanwhile, our cottage—promoted on the resort’s own website as a “lovely, colorful” oceanfront retreat —felt anything but. The bathroom was so cramped I could barely shut the door, and one of the beds sported someone else’s hair. It seems I am not the only one who had these issues. Many reviews warn that the shower is “terrible” and “dirty,” and that plumbing issues make it almost unusable. By the time we piled into the car, our kids were cranky, covered in grit, and desperate for a proper rinse. Windows down, we endured a sticky, uncomfortable drive home—an ordeal no family should face after paying for a beachfront resort. I urge management to: • Honor advertised amenities and allow guests post‑checkout access to the pool and at the very least the showers to be able to rinse off after a day at the beach. • Deep‑clean and modernize every cottage, especially bathrooms that current guests and reviewers describe as “outdated” and “uncomfortable” . • Train staff to respond courteously and pragmatically when families request a simple rinse‑off after the beach. Parador Villas del Mar Hau’s location and facilities hold great promise, but current policies and housekeeping lapses betray basic hospitality.

We were greeted by the vibrant colour of the villa and the welcoming, warm sun. The area was very nice and the restaurant food was delicious as well. Nearly every day we bathed in the sea which is suitable for kids. Highly recommend!

If you want to stay literally on the beach, a nice quiet feels-private beach that includes a protected lagoon for some easy and convenient snorkeling, within an easy drive of many amazing spots in Northwest Puerto Rico, this is a great spot. We stayed in a 2 bedroom cottage right on the beach. I greatly enjoyed sitting on our large porch to watch the waves as I enjoyed my morning coffee. Rooms are a bit basic, but perfectly comfortable. Good luck finding anything comparable for this price.

Yelp
I will start with all the positive things this resort has to offer. First of all, as you can see in my photos, the beach here is insane! Probably the best beach in the whole island of PR. The beach is free/for the people however this resort/the owner owns that whole lot in front of this beach. Which is why you pay 300$ a night for a cabin/house here right in front of this amazing beach called "Montones". Once you are a guest in this resort you are able to park your car there, where its safe, and simply walk back and forth from the beach to your cabin. This, in my opinion, is the only reason this place has lasted for 30+ years here in Isabela, Puerto Rico. And the reason they are able to over-charge their guests for their stay. Now, the problem with the cabin per se is that you pay as much as a 5 star hotel per night yet you do not receive the same quality inside the cabin as you would in another resort. For example, we were in a cabin for 6 ppl, 3 bedrooms and only one bathroom. The kitchen was microscopic, the fridge was minuscule and the dining table was for four ppl. The tiny TV didn't work without internet and the wifi was non existent. The living seats and balcony seats were one of the most uncomfortable seats I've seated before. The bathroom was pretty beat up and the bed sheets were worse than a hospital's bed sheets and the AC units were only in the 3 bedrooms and not in the common areas. In other words the inside of the cabin needs some MAJOR updates PRONTO! I know- who cares? I was walking distance from one of the most wonderful and beautiful beaches of this island. Yet when you pay 300$ + a night it stings a bit. Overall would I stay here again? Absolutely. Because of montones beach and the accessibility of this amazing piece of heaven! Not because of the quality/updates of the resort.

Yelp
It's a beautiful place I loved the view but the little pretty houses are outdated inside the blankets were dirty and there was roaches we spent hours killing the cause i couldn't sleep thinking thy were gonna fly on me or my grandson. The screen broke when I first opened the door and because check in is at four and maintenance leaves by 5pm no one could fix it. We tried to put it back but the little holders were broken. We had to stay w the door closed the entire time. When I complained to the front staff she only shrugged her shoulders and said if I was ready to check out.

Yelp
Just completed 30 years college reunion (UPR RUM Mayaguez). We reserved around 20 rooms. We really had a blast. Most of us now live in US, so coming to Isabela for the weekend was Awesome. Couple of recomendations... beach towels, better/quicker Restaurant.

Fernando R.

Yelp
I have stayed there several times in the past and will never go back there again. They give you only one towel per guest and one roll of toilet paper per room. The rooms I stood in were gross. Cum stains on the bed frames, sand on the bed, filthy floors, filthy balcony and bugs including spiders and water bugs. The sheets if they were cleaned were cleaned with minimum soap. The stairs leading up the apt 31 looked like they haven't been cleaned in weeks. My wife has a cat phobia and the room that they sent us to had a cat sanctuary outside of our room. We were first given a room but is was changed at the last minute because of maintenance problems (I'm not surprised), and we then got sent to their emergency filthy back up unit. The beach is great, but you do not need to be a guest to visit the beach. $10 per carload gets you in. Unless you want to rough it and feel like you're camping you're ok. If you want to feel grossed out it is also okay. Otherwise you keep away. Gross, gross gross!!!!!!!!!

Yelp
Really good beach, but crowded. The little rooms are kinda expensive for 1 night and they were sold out.But the beach was beautiful

Yelp
We completely understand the renovation process after hurricane Maria, but paying $176.00 a night and not be provided with beach towels , chairs , umbrellas is absurd., aside from the fact that even the Restaurant was closed for repairs. Parking area was in a field rather than on a paved surface., a field Really!!!! Our cabin was very modest , ac capacity will only cool the bedroom but the rest of the apt felt warm , it certainty can used major updates and breakfast should have been included taking in consideration of all the inconveniences like no cable tv , no internet and so on. The focus was more in what we could and couldn't do rather than making our stay enjoyable. Sadly we were very disappointed with our overall experience here and we will not recommend this Parador to friends. $80 will be reasonable price and then only because the room was in front of the ocean however cleaning the beach area around the resort must be

Yelp
Wonderful place for our getaway! My friend was getting married there so we took advantage and booked a cottage for a few days before and a few days after. A cozy gated property that includes cottages along the shore line are small yet very comfortable. They are brightly painted and included two rooms, tv area, dining area, a coffee maker, a small kitchen w stove and fridge. The cupboards had all the necessities and cleaning service stops by daily to clear out the trash for you. The front patio has a small table and chairs and a hammock for enjoying the outdoors and R&R. A grill and small area to rinse your feet are located just outside the cottage too. The water is a few yards away and a small concessions stand sold drinks, ice cream and beach toys for the lil ones. Although we didn't use it, they also have laundry service for a fee. Only the bedrooms are equipped with refrigerated AC. The rest of the cottage had large windows equipped with blinds that allow for the ocean breeze. Humidity though during our stay (mid-July) made this a little uncomfortable during the afternoon. The place also includes volleyball and tennis courts, a pool and gathering areas w grills. A restaurant is located on the property and gave us a first hand experience to the Puerto Rican cuisine. We ordered the chicken mofongo (plantain bowl stuffed with chicken stew), arroz con abichuelas (white rice and red beans, tostones (plantain patties) and Camarones Krystal (deep fried pasta wrapped shrimp); all were pricier than normal (which was expected). The place included a full menu (but as vegan, I was happy with the rice and beans and plantain patties) and full bar. We enjoyed limonada and cold Medalla beer. Totally worth the prices I must say. The place is open and along side the waterline too. The music was mostly salsa but was soft enough to listen to the waves crashing. I'm not sure if this is a common occurrence but salsa lessons were available for two couples while we enjoyed our meal. This was not only enjoyable but educational for us as well. I paid a little less than $150 a night and it was totally worth it in my eyes. Stop by their local grocery store or Walmart and pick up groceries and you will have no reason to leave. Restaurants in the area are overpriced.

Yelp
I have called and spoken with American Express who is monitoring this charge and if you charge me, the amount will be disputed, you will be charged for the dispute and my money WILL BE refunded. I did not in ANY way book a reservation for 8-2/8-4-2020. When I called to politely let the woman on the phone know that I did make a reservation for 8-1/8-3-2020, and that when I showed up with my party of 5 + 2 dogs, they left me out on the street! Telling me, "I had booked for the wrong day." The man was super rude and told me, "They aren't going to give you your money back, just come back tomorrow." I would never stay at your property now, not even for free! You trick people into staying when you have openings by switching dates??? So when I called I asked to speak to the manager, the woman who answered at approx 9:20am on 8/2 said she was not the manager and asked, "What do you want?" I explained to her and she began to YELL at me. She told me, "Its your fault, you booked for the wrong day. Not our problem." In a much different tone I told her that my money is getting refunded anyway...and I was simply calling because even though she is the employee and doesn't understand, the owner of the business may want to rent the room and recover the money." She continued yelling, "You will never get your money back this has happened before." I said, "I bet it effing has!" And hung up on her. So I am on the phone now with booking.com Their wait time is over 10 min, they are encouraging me to reach out online. I have been on the phone for over an hour. This is clearly a scam you are running and you are not going to get away with it. I recommend that you take the higher road and cancel my reservation, that you or your partner booking made FRAUDULENTLY. Maybe you don't realize but someone is scamming people here and your people are VERY RUDE! Either way your company made a huge mistake because we were very excited with the property and we are locals from 3 hours away on the other side of the island. Now we are staying at Villa Montana which is beautiful and amazing in every way and even though it's a little bit more, but the grace of god they had something available last minute and got me in!!! So they will always get my families money now when we are here, which will be OFTEN! Also I do marketing for a living and will be sharing the outcome of this mess and how you handle it with EVERY social media and internet site possible. In these very uncertain times it would behoove you to do the right thing. Either way, now people are on to your and or booking.coms SCAM you are running!!!

Georgette L.

Yelp
Scammers!!!!! Changing reservations and being extremely rude about it. They are FRAUDULENT and changes reservation dates unknowingly. I see others have had the same problem.

Yelp
Nice beach, friendly staff. Stayed there with family for three nights last week. In addition to the beach, we used the pool, the parking lot and tried to visit the Olas y Arenas restaurant. When we arrived for dinner one night, there were three or four other tables seated. The waitress, however, felt the need to warn us, not once but twice, that it would take a while. Second warning got us up and out of there fast; with two little lids we couldn't wait an hour even if we wanted to! She was nice enough to suggest another place to go. We received room service one day, but not the next. Had to go to Housekeeping to get fresh towels and soap. Rooms are a little tired and dated. Liked that there was much security around, and you could see maintenance working. Overall, I felt we overpaid for what we received.

Yelp
I really loved the place. A place of total relaxation and tranquility very close to nature and the sea, so close that you can hear the waves in the villas. Also have a pool & a small restaurant. It has a large place for parking. All employees are super friendly. It is close to restaurants and shops. The facilities are well maintained. The villas are perfect with refrigerator, coffee maker, microwave; the large bedroom with king size bed, air conditioning, humidifier, closet, night tables & lamps. The bathroom was clean, with towels, soap, shampoo and conditioner. The living room has seats and the TV has several channels. The balcony has a table, chairs and a hammock overlooking the sea (they provide everything necessary for you to keep the villa clean) and they go to clean them daily. We will definitely go back and sooner than we imagined!
google avatar

Lynne Y.

Yelp
The service needs major improvement. I ended up not eating at the restaurant because it literally took 2 hours from sit down to getting the check (and no one offered water). My room barely got cleaned -- and no one touched my bathroom! I asked for paper towels and never received them. We cooked every meal in the rooms' kitchen. Thank goodness there was one, and I'm pretty sure that's why the hotel has them in each room. It's unfortunate because the place is very charming, the beach is INCREDIBLE and it has great potential. But if you're looking for a true resort experience, this is NOT it.

Yelp
At first glance the place is beautiful. The ocean is right at your doorstep and the colorful cabins remind you that you are in face in a Caribbean paradise. However, as soon as you reach the inside of the beach front cabin, you are met with a dingy, moldy, unkept room. My family (50+) came to celebrate a family reunion. Many of us live on the island. And not one of us were satisfied with the state of our rooms. After the first night, we went to complain and was given fresh towels. (That was about it). Some rooms had no microwave while others had 2. Some gas stoves stopped mid cooking. Leaky air conditioning. Stray dogs EVERYWHERE. Couches with stains and odd smells. And mold and mildew on the walls. Its truly unfortunate because the bar was amazing. The service there was wonderful. The food there was excellent too. My advice is....if you are willing to pay a 5 star price and stay in 2 star accommodations, then this is the place for you. And to the owners, shame on you for taking hard earned money from people.

Yelp
Beautiful setting with the boats and the sea while you eat. Love music when we were there and great food. 7 seafood soup with plantains at the side was tasty, the octopus cooked soft, not rubbery, broth good and lots of seafood variety as promised. Mojitos hit the spot, appetizers and everything we ordered were plentiful. Really a lot of fun when the band played everyone got up to dance. Stayed for hours. Beautiful time.

Yelp
Came here for an iba world tour bodyboarding contest. Super close to some fun surf spots, the view is priceless, and the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Definitely a place I will stay again when visiting and the villa has a great porch, rooms, and grill and kitchen to cook your own meals if you want and just relax. Great times and thanks to Natasha and the Encantopro Puerto Rico for making this our home camp.

Yelp
If you want to relax in paradise, yet have nearby water activities, delicious nearby dining choices and great shopping THIS IS IT!!!!! The premises are well taken care of... Words are not enough to say about the staff!!! The villas are perfect! villa 4A stove, refrigerator, with sitting area. Bedroom large room, king sized bed. Bathroom super clean! Just wish they had hot water. (I'm spoiled). Did I forget to mention beach is your front yard?? Look at pictures!!! Definitely returning!!!

Yelp
Oh if only Yelp allowed -5 stars. When we first arrived, our room wasn't ready on time, so we decided to go to the restaurant. Well if you're really hungry, you might as well die. The food took FOREVER. When we finally got to our room, we were disgusted. It wasn't even clean! There were cups under the bed from the last guests and all the floors were sticky and gross with a lack of towels. The appliances are old and tiny. The beds are ROCKS and the linens are paper thin. The kitchen chairs are covered with padding. The padding fell off and there was MOLD all over the chairs. To top it off, there's homeless animals EVERYWHERE. Not only were they homeless, but they were ill with manges and such. The fans and air conditioners don't adjust so prepare to either roast or freeze to death. To top EVERYTHING off!!!!! THERES COCKROACHES EVERYWHERE. I found a GIGANTIC one (can't even exaggerate this) on my ceiling, on my pillow, floor, curtains, EVERY SINGLE PLACE. I am truly disgusted. This is a true health code violation.

Toby C.

Yelp
I was there for Puerto Rock Steady the first weekend of May. The event was hella fun. Music, dancing, great people and vibes. I will definitely be back for Puerto Rock Steady, but encourage the organizers to change the venue. At first glance, Parador Villa Del Mar Hau is cool, and the beach views are priceless. But the service was extremely disappointing, and in some cases, almost non-existent. My room didn't get cleaned for a full day. I asked for towels and never received them. The sand on the floor was never swept. I had to ASK to just have my bathroom cleaned. The restaurant was disappointing as well. I waited for hours and only ordered a shrimp salad. The place wasn't even busy. I'll be back for Puerto Rock Steady next year, but will most likely stay at the adjacent resort (unless the venue changes).

Angel G.

Yelp
The family decided to pick this place for a family reunion we were approximate 50 of us, because it look so nice in the pictures, but what you see you don't get, I paid $240.00 a night from Friday to Monday. I was told I got one of the best rooms, yeah I was in for a surprise, when we arrived to the room, that sofas dirty, mold in the bathrooms, dogs outside running around, the dogs every morning would knock over the garbage cans trying to find food (leftovers). I was too busy to complain to the front desk because I was trying to cook and set up the family reunion for the rest of the family. But five of our family members did go and complain about the rooms, nothing was done. Whoever is saying they had a great time that's the administration saying that, or someone paid to write this because we didn't see anything. When you are grilling outside the dogs are right next to you and we are not talking about 2 or 3 there's at least 20. The hotel will charge upfront, because you will not receive your money back if any complaints.

Yelp
What can I possibly say about this place.....well the outside and the color of the villas are stunning. The beach along is crystal clear and there is the 'Isabella Blow Hole' right about a mile away along the beach. But all the greatness stops at the view. When you walk in with the 70s style furniture and art along the walls make you wonder if this is actually your room or a cruel joke they played. The couches were disgusting with stains all over them. There was mold growing along the bedrooms and leaks all around. The fan didn't even work, nor did we have a microwave. The floor was filthy and sandy the moment we walked in. Now I feel like if you are spending this kind of money you should have the place more kept and at least clean! I wasn't the only one that felt this way either, other family members were complaining that a lot of their amenities weren't working. They were many complaints given and they seemed to not care at all. There was also a restaurant at the villas that had absolutely horrible food! We have better mofongo in Orlando Florida and paid double there. This place is just scamming you and wants your money. Never again.

Yelp
The hotel is in Isabela PR, which is on the Northwestern coast of the island, about a 1.5 to 2hr drive from SJU on one of the main highways. Keep in mind that time frame is for non-peak hour driving through San Juan. Also, the highway is a toll highway so be sure your rental car company offers their autoXpress pass so you can flow through the toll stops (works just like an EZPASS). We used Hertz at SJU and it was about $25 for the weekly pass (our Hertz experience was excellent btw). The drive to Isabela is a breeze, but I gotta say that PR drivers can be a bit careless compared to mainland drivers. A driver may not wait for an open space when exiting a lot for example. They will simply inject themselves into traffic flow and expect you to adjust. Drivers there are used to accommodating each other without prior eye contact or high beam signal. You'll get used to it after getting cut off about 5 times without so much as a glace by the drivers who did so. We got to the hotel about 1pm and the gal working the desk followed the specified check in time, which she indicated was 4pm. A bit annoying. Just tell me you'll have our room ready as soon as possible and drop the text-book approach. Its a beach resort for goodness sake! We pushed for a room ASAP and she ultimately relented. We didn't get one of the stand alone villas btw, just a basic room in one of their duplexes. The room was clean but nothing fancy: tile floors, a few beach paintings throughout, tropic color palette, basic wood/wicker furnishings. The bedroom was spacious but the bathroom a bit on the small side. The AC was fine. The flat screen TV w/ cable channels was fine. The fridge was undersized and lacked sufficient cooling power. They don't offer free ice. A bag of ice will run you $3. No safe in the room. No beach towels, and that will cost you too if you didn't pack any. The beach is just a few yards from the rooms. There's a fence line between the rooms and the beach and there weren't enough openings so you need to walk around to get there. That was annoying too. They have a bar/restaurant, which I found to be on the pricey side. We dropped $70 at the bar the first night...just didn't want to drive around after coming from SJU that day. They also have a bit of a stray dog issue. If you don't like dogs no worries, its not like there's dozens. Just a few that wander the area along the beach. The strays basically left us alone and weren't a menace, so don't let it be a deal breaker for you. Overall, this spot is a good value and its #1 plus is the location. The whole resort in a beautiful area of the coast. Very lush and lots of wildlife. Geckos & lizards, cranes, bats, aquatic life, etc, etc, are abundant throughout! You won't regret your stay there if you plan ahead. The main town of Isabela has lots of local markets so stop there an load up on ice and any other needs for your stay at the resort. There are a several great bars and restaurants within a short drive of the resort so don't limit yourself to the one at the resort. Would I go back? Yes! But I'd be better prepared the next time around. Keep your expectations about the resort in check and you'll have a blast.
