Super traditional Cretan food! Upon arrival they asked us Wether we like to choose from the menu or if we wanna go for the Greek experience (they bring u chef selected dishes) We chose the Greek experience and let me tell you, the amount of food that was brought to our table was mind blowing! I will upload a picture of each dish and I number them in the order it was brought to our table! These dishes covered chicken, snail, lamb and beef meet! If you are going here go with a super empty stomach! (Seriously) Our bill for 2 people came to 70 euros (35 each) and that covered our food and the 4 drinks we ordered (2 beers and 2 lemonade) We took whatever was left as a takeaway and that was enough for a generous lunch for the day after!

Come hungry! Just like a Cretan YiaYia’s home, they are here to feed you! Plate after plate after plate came out, as the table filled with flavorful dishes, we realized stretchy pants are a must when eating here. Locally sourced and depends on season, this place will keep you coming back.

Amazing restaurant on your way to Southern Creta. The owner himself came to take our order and when i told him we would like to taste a bit of Crete he suggested to bring small portions pf some of the most traditional dishes so we can try. I trusted him and it was the best decision! All the dished were excellent, service super pleasant and the whole experience totally worth it! Highly recommended even if you have to get out of your way to come here!!

A wonderful restaurant on the way to Southern Crete! Alekos(the owner) personally came to take our order, and when I told him we wanted to taste a bit of Crete, he kindly suggested bringing us small portions of some of the most traditional dishes. I trusted his suggestion—and it was the best decision! It was my first time i tried snails which was incredible. Every dish was excellent, the service was warm and welcoming, and the whole experience was truly memorable. We tried 10 different things and we paid 17€ per person. Highly recommended, even if it means making a detour to get here!

We here on a recommendation from my AirBNB host. The taverna was great..you just sit down and they bring you out a feast. No menu at all. We had to bring leftovers home. Would dine there again

We had a wonderful lunch here on a Wednesday afternoon after visiting the Kourtaliotiko Gorge waterfalls. When we entered, the owner asked us what we wanted, we replied lunch. He said he was going to serve us the best meal of our lives. We never saw a menu, but food started coming out. First we were served two cheeses and bread, a Greek salad, stuffed grape leaves (dolmades), stuffed squash blossoms, and pork with apricots. The owner told us to only taste as more plates were coming. Then we were served roast rabbit, sauteed snails, beef stifado, green beans in a red sauce, grilled pork, grilled ground pork patties and fried potatoes. Everything was spiced just right and so tasty. The lunch was finished with orange cake, halva and ice cream. We were absolutely stuffed and had three containers of food to go. All for 35 EU each. Highly recommend stopping here for lunch and the experience.

You have to know this one is a good restaurant. I enjoyed the fact that they suggest the food and bring you their selection. Amazing prices.

This Cretan concept taverna was based on the old belief that when hungry you would eat what was prepared and nothing else. Here, there are no menus. Only plates start arriving to your delight. Salad, snails (a Cretan delicacy), beef in tomato, roasted rabbit, cheese pies, hamburgers, pork stew, broad beans with tomato, scrambled eggs and squash, and special Cretan Wedding Pilafi. Go hungry and ready to socialize because the owner will stop over and sit for awhile.
