This place is mostly hype, the road is awful. it’s all dirt with huge potholes and rocks. You literally can’t see if someone is in front of you. The food is okay, think food you find on any of the side streets. The water park is nice but it’s not worth the overall price.

We stopped here for lunch as part of a tour of Las Haites national park. The food was simple but delicious, service was good, and the grounds were lovely. My daughter and I had fun trying to walk each trail and visit every porch and patio of this unique architectural gem.

We had a day pass as part of a tour and were really impressed with the water and the many pools and waterfalls, slides and stairs. So many beautiful settings with lots of space to enjoy. The water was refreshing and clear. The stone work all around that created the pools was awe inspiring.

A local resort built into the hills. It looks like a cross between caves built into the hills and a Gaudi building! My room had some rock walls. Room was fine if somewhat dark. The shower was good. Only cold water at the sink. Good Wi-Fi in the restaurant but did not reach my room. The food was good and plentiful.

My family of four spent three nights at this ecolodge and loved it. Our room was quirky, playful, and comfortable. Lots of steps up to the room near the top, but the views are worth it. We sat on the terrace when we woke up and enjoyed seeing rainforest, mangroves and the Samana peninsula in the distance. Nights were amazing, with lots of stars in the sky. The pools were a real treat in the mornings, as we had them mostly to ourselves. It was fun trying the various slides and hiding behind the waterfalls. Juan Carlos took us on an excursion in the mangroves and to two caves one morning. We highly recommend taking a tour with him - he is personable and knowledgeable. A really unique experience, we hope to return sooner rather than later.

The service was good, food was amazing. I wish they had snacks and other things available throughout the days for kids. My daughter 3. Does not have the Dominican eating schedule and I couldn't bring food into the rooms.

Wonderful place to stay - just remote enough! Lots of stairs up to the rooms, though - not a place if you have restricted mobility. Nice just to hang around. Restaurant is basic but good enough.
