Bars and Nightlife in Vancouver

"“P49,” as locals call it, has one of the biggest selections of house-brewed beers in Vancouver, and what it lacks in sophistication, it makes up for in fun. Inside, you’ll find long tables and an interior food truck called Street Kitchen serving things like burgers and beer-battered broccoli." - MATADOR_NETWORK

10 Best Craft Beer Spots in Vancouver | Condé Nast Traveler

"Parallel 49 Brewing Company has an avocado-green bar and slatted ceilings, long, dark-wood communal tables, and 1950s-era General Fireproofing Company aluminum chairs. The beers taste great and sport creative names; take the Hillbilly Ninja (5% ABV), a hazy pale ale, or the Salty Scot, a “sea salted caramel Scotch ale.” But the best part of the 117-seat “Street Kitchen” is the graffiti-scarred food truck that has been reassembled inside the space, wheels and all. The food cart is actually a clever portal to a full working kitchen. The menu leans toward comfort food, with fried chicken, poutine, ribs, tacos, burgers, and sandwiches. Parallel 49 is a little out of the way—as a visitor, it’s unlikely you’ll chance upon it when you’re out for a stroll. But it's very much worth the trip." - Guy Saddy

Google
Cool space with a pretty large selection of beers. Lots of IPAs. Unfortunately most of their beers weren't to my liking (I didnt like either of the two sours they had) and they were sold out of the 3 other things I wanted - though it was a busy Saturday. Switched to highballs, but these were quite expensive. The poutine was mediocre.

Parallel 49 Brewing Company: A Beer Lover's Paradise in Vancouver 🍺📚 Venturing into Parallel 49 Brewing Company on a bustling evening felt like stepping into a beer aficionado's dream. With an extensive selection that resembles a 'beer library,' the choices seemed endless. We opted for two sampling flights, giving us the chance to explore eight different beers, each showcasing a unique and delightful flavor profile. 🍻✨ The vibrant atmosphere, complemented by friendly and knowledgeable staff, enhanced the overall experience. Their passion for craft beer was evident in their thoughtful recommendations. Let the staff know your preferences—they’re fantastic at picking options that fit your taste perfectly! 🧑‍🍳🍺 For anyone seeking a unique and memorable beer-tasting adventure in Vancouver, Parallel 49 Brewing Company is a must-visit destination. I can’t wait to return and dive even deeper into their impressive lineup of brews! 🌟🍺

Google
Such an awesome experience here. They have ample parking and plenty of patio seating. Their interior is so chic, with an actual freaking food truck inside the restaurant where you can see the folks working hard to make your food. I initially thought the place was only going to have beers which I’m not a fan of, but their cocktails are so damn good. Great food, (spicy chicken is to die for) great servers and such a nice, warm place to hang with friends or take people. Prices are a yee bit high, so keep that in mind.

Google
This place has a fantastic atmosphere, making it an ideal spot to unwind and enjoy good times with friends or as a couple. They offer a wide selection of beers, catering to all tastes, which is a real treat for beer enthusiasts. When it comes to food, I highly recommend the hamburgers—they are simply delicious and well-prepared. Although the Cajun chicken was good, the hamburgers stole the show. Overall, it's a great place, and I'm looking forward to my next visit!

Google
Cool local brewery with a restaurant inside themed like a food truck. The waffle fries are awesome, and complement the beer. Very laid back atmosphere, chill vibes, and good brews. Recommend for a good beer and food experience with a large patio. Would be awesome if there were some TVs for sports or something, but otherwise solid spot.

Went here and loved it! I love the style of service (pay before you get your food), the atmosphere is lively and fun (they have board games and cards - but their connect four game is broken so they should take it off their shelf), and the food was great. We ordered the hot and the sweet and spicy chicken wings - they are so good. I would not recommend the chicken and mushroom poutine - it wasn't to my liking at all. Instead we got the nachos, and they turned out great. My husband ordered a pint of their beer and said it was really good too.

Google
While on a quick tour of Vancouver we found this brewery and had a great experience. The beer selection is large with something for everyone. The flights are reasonably priced with 4 of your choice for $11. If you’re not a beer fan there are also cocktails, like the muddlers with citrus, and non alcoholic like a great Arnold Palmer. The food was delicious as well! We loved the poutine and the black pepper gravy was perfect. The smash burgers are a good size and the toppings are fresh - the spicy pickles are a great bite.

Great beer, great food, great music. Awesome vibes all around! Simply the best nachos ever! :^)

Yelp
Parallel 49 is one of my favorite breweries in Vancouver, as they always have such a vast array of beers to choose from. It's really nice to sit in their beer garden in the summer and they also offer beer flights! They also have a great annual Oktoberfest event with live music that's really fun and festive! The food options are pretty decent as well. There's plenty of seating and they even have a small store where you can buy beer to go!

Yelp
It's been a few years since my last visit to Parallell 49 Brewing. They've been around for more than a decade. There's an-in-house food truck, Street Kitchen, along with a massive outdoor sitting area. We dropped in on an early Friday afternoon (around 1:45pm). Order at the bar. 28 beers on tap along with a couple muddlers, seltzers, soda pops, Oddity Kombucha and a radler. There's a small happy hour menu from 2:00pm to 5:00pm (daily) and 10:00pm to close (Sunday to Thursday). Food menu is a small one pager. - Flight (~$12.00) - old boy (brown ale), mango jelly monster (sour ale), bodhisattva (hopped sour) and cosmic soup (juicy IPA). Favourite was the sour ale, although light on the fruit flavour. The hopped sour wasn't too hoppy and grapefruit came through. The juicy IPA was very light. Brown ale had a strange finish. - Czech dark lager ($7.75) - R went with a Czech pilsner. Not much going on taste wise. P49 is popular but the beers are run of the mill.

Yelp
Came to this neighborhood brewery for an afternoon stop and was surprised to find some very good food options. The poutine came with green onions on top, which was a nice and delectable touch. We also tried the Eggplant Bao, which was excellent. We had two beers which were okay but not something I would re-order, but our third choice, the Salt Caramel Scot -- was a great choice. Nice flavor and distinctive. That beer alone would be worth returning for!~

Yelp
Been here twice since moving here - will definitely come again Love that they always have A LOT of selections. Wish they had more sours for the sour fans, but their IPAs are awesome too. One that stuck out for me was Casino Royale - pretty unique with a spicy kick to it

Yelp
Normally a 5 star(love the beer), but lately some menu items not available I mean if you don't have it, remove it from the menu (at least remove it from your website menu). I mean its not that extensive a menu. Who doesn't have their grilled chicken sandwich? (That's twice now).Today it was burgers or nothing. C'mon Parallel 49, you used to be better.
google avatar

Yelp
49 is always packed everytime I come here. Even with the safety measures in place, many people forgo restaurants and eat at home instead. But people really like beer, I guess! They're willing to come out to 49 even on rainy days! I am not actually a beer fan, so I had a cocktail. I came here with a group of colleagues after work for drinks and this was a great place to be. I enjoyed my Pink Lemonade cocktail, and my colleagues loved their beer. Some had seconds. 49 can get filled up pretty quickly in the evening. I'll come back again.

Yelp
Nice little brewery. Food is delicious, I loved the chicken strips. The honey mustard dip to go with them was tasty .

Yelp
We visited here based on a friend's recommendation. We order a cranberry radler (I'm not a big beer drinker so wanted something easy to drink) and it was a great beer as I'm more a g&t guy. We had the spicy chicken burger with waffle fries. Burger was solid and had a good kick. The picked jalapeños with cole slaw was a great combo. Waffle fries with cilantro mayo was a nice touch. Ran out of donuts so had a ginger beer to finish off the meal. Was a solid beverage and lots of ginger flavour (wish I had some gin)... and yes, I understand I went to a brewery for dinner! All in all, good meal and would recommend a visit.

Yelp
Great selection of beers, friendly staff and the food is simple yet good. Salted Scotch Ale ans Gipsy Tears are two must try Beers here.

Yelp
Friday date night and ventured to East Vancouver Parallel 49 Brewing. We arrived at 7:20pm and it was really busy. We looked for seats before ordering and none available. We proceeded to order first. We ordered: - spicy chicken with waffles fries - husband loved it. Ate it so fast. I went to wash my hands and when I returned he finished the burger. - bacon cheeseburger - it was really tasty and good. The meat paddy was super juicy. It was a bit messy to eat for my liking. - 2 cranberry radler beer - light and flavourful - poutine - good tasting poutine - carnival mix - paired nicely with the beer The ambiance on a Friday night, high energy for sure. We ended up finding our seats when we finished ordering as a party was leaving. score! Beer is served at pick up section (like Starbucks). If you ordered food they will give you a number paddle to find you once food is ready to be served. Pretty cool to see their kitchen is in a food truck. Great selection of beer if you like beer, you'd like it here. Food was tasty with good quality. Great times at Parallel 49!

Yelp
Parallel 49 is a huge brewery with a food truck inside. Street parking. Large inside, ton of seating. Connecting outside patio. Menu is airport style, very hard to read. They have paper menus with all the drafts. Brewmaster Paddle - 9.50 CAD - Great mix of drinks, light to strong with a sour. 4 drinks included in the paddle. Menu shows it is 8 for the paddle but I was charged 9.50, that was annoying. Gave them 3.5 for this so I rounded down.

Yelp
Great sélection for a flight or two. Didn't have food. Friendly neighborhood atmosphere.

Yelp
This is a review for one of their brews! I pick up Parallel 49 at my local liquor Warehouse and I am really diggin this new one, well new to me anyway Holy Salty Scot! It's a Sea Salted Caramel Scotch Ale. It's really a Killer Brew!!! A strong beer at 7.2% Has a lot going on from the aromas as you put your glass to your mouth, the bite and the flavour as you take the first chug, then the wonderful after taste. The tingling of alcohol, lingering caramel flavour and the salty finish is exactly what I am looking for in a beer drinking experience!!! I think I found my new fave. If you drink Budweiser or Corona and that's your go to then this is not for you but for flavour flavour flavour it's a must in your beer fridge.

Yelp
First of all and forgive my shouting but I get pretty excited about coming here: - GET A FLIGHT. This will allow you to try 4 smaller sizes of the many beers P49 has on tap. You can also choose one from their "infuser" where P49 pops some random food item/spice into an infuser with one of their beers on tap. **be warned - don't slide your paddle/flight. Your drinks will tip! Always lift! - If you've been to P49 pre-reno, you'll remember they had a food cart outside but since, they're added a "food cart" inside that operates as their kitchen AND they're really stepped up their food game. TO DIE FOR? WAFFLE FRIES -- the cilantro mayo is crack, CHICKEN WINGS (rosemary sage and sweet and spicy are the only ones I've tried). Cons: The wait. This place is bumpin'.. While the wait to get into the brewery is normal, the line ups for ordering are a little longer than other breweries.
google avatar

Yelp
My favourite local craft beer spot and I must say there are at least 40 choices of beer...what else can you ask for and the food - every single one of them taste so good!! Amazing and pleasant staff, even when is so packed, all the staff is engaged, helpful and get the line moving! I highly recommens this place if you feel like "finger food" kinda food or even just for a good glass of beer! The flight is awesome coz you get a good enough amount of beer and you get to try 4 different flavors! Isn't that awesome?! Go hangout after work and check it out for yourself!!!

Yelp
Came here on a Sunday and it was packed inside. We were able to find seats pretty fast. I like how there are a variety of beers available to choose from. I decided to get a flight of beer to try a few different beers. I think they make good Hazy IPAs based on what I ordered. I mostly gave 3 stars based on the service coming in. On Yelp, it states that dogs are allowed but I was unable to bring my dog in. When one of the ladies working told me dogs aren't allowed in, I was going to take my dog back out and she followed us and repeated again "the dog can't be in here". I don't remember the exact phrase now, but I do remember the way she approached us was rude. I have no problem with places that are not dog-friendly, but it is all in the approach.

Yelp
I mean, the number of beers they have on tap is jaw-dropping. I've been to probably 50+ breweries now and this probably hasn't the largest selection of them all. Props to Parallel 49 for running such a solid establishment that offers food as delicious as their beers! I've enjoyed every beer on tap and their food just hits the spot. I remember loving their mac n cheese on my second (late night) visit. They have an ample amount of seating and the modern vibe of the place is perfect at any time of day.
google avatar

Yelp
These guys have been around for a while now. They started with only a small selection of beers, served in a small tasting room (at the same location). They've since completely remodeled and grown, built a growler fill and merch area, and have food in house. The beer selection has grown to a healthy selection of 20 or more brews. They make some staples like the Filthy Dirty IPA and Gypsy Tears, but I'm a huge fan of their more experimental or niche beers. Their "infusion" tap is a glass chamber through which they pour beer. The chamber is filled with anything from orange peels and tea, to gummy bears. This allows them to serve some really interesting combinations of flavour. Parking is on the street and generally available within a block or 2. Several other breweries are within easy walking g distance, making this a fantastic stop on any brewery crawl.
google avatar

Yelp
A very happening place. The row of taps is really impressive... especially as I'm used to smaller breweries. I was suffering from serious FOMO as I tried to pick 4 out of the whole line up for a flight... Of the ones I tried, I enjoyed Trash Panda, a NE IPA, but was rather disappointed with the Lemon Square Ale - which I thought would be a bit sweet but turned out was just sour and bitter... The place is rather big, most of the seats are at the large communal tables with tall chairs. My friends ordered snacks such as wings and burgers, but I was saving room for dinner so I didn't try. Personally I prefer a quieter, smaller brewery, so I can't say I am a fan, especially since I didn't enjoy the beers too much. But that's all just personal preference, and I can see how this place is popular. With the snacks and range of beer and the energetic vibe, it is a good place with a group of friends.

Yelp
Went here for a afternoon drink and got the grapefruit raddler, waffle fries and jackfruit tacos. All were amazing. I am not a big fan of bbq sauce on the tacos, so I might not get that again but it was an interesting taste. Looking forward to trying something else next time.

Yelp
#500 goes out to one of my favourite breweries in Vancity. I'm just going to bullet point a few of my favourite things: + Their creative branding. I mean, just look at their beer labels. They're so well designed, funky, and out there. Kudos to the artist who designs all their labels. Even their beer names are cool. + Their beer. I usually switch between their Filthy Dirty IPA and Trash Panda Hazy IPA. Before I switched to IPAs, I drank quite a bit of their Ruby Tears Red Ale. They also come up with really great seasonals, so keep an eye out at your local liqour stores or visit the brewery to get your hands on one of them. They once had an Imperial White IPA that I LOVED. P49, if you could bring that back, that would be a dreaaaam. + Their street kitchen. This is a nice recent little addition to the brewery, but has quickly become one of my favourite parts about visiting P49. When I'm brewery hopping around Mount Pleasant/East Van, I always make sure to end at P49 because they have the best food out of all the breweries in this area, in my opinion. A couple of my faves: hawaiian jackfruit taco, crispy cod taco, pesto mac and cheese, sweet and spicy chicken wings, korean fried broccoli, and spicy crispy chicken sandwich. Realistically you can get anything from their menu and leave with a happy belly. I got some serious love for you, Parallel 49. Thanks for the good vibes, good beers, and good food.

Yelp
Lots of beers on tap, lots of *good* beer, good variety of beer styles, big spacious place, some outdoor seating, fun atmosphere. Music is a bit loud inside and makes it hard to talk because the structure has reflective surfaces. If the weather is nice, I prefer to site closer to the patio area. It's too bad that's not going to be an option in the winter Decent food options on-site too, although I'd give this place a 5 if it was a _little_ better. I had the crispy cod taco and pork belly taco. The tortilla is an important part of a taco and it was the most generic, shit store bought flour tortilla served cold and honestly it detracted from the decent fillings. Chicken wings were good - the bbq flavor went well with beer, but it was a little cold by the time it got to us, and it wasn't a particularly busy night. Poutine Wass good pub grub though! Overall, I like this place a lot and will be back hopefully in many occasions!

Yelp
We came here before they closed for renovation. They had great beer, great Canadians around and great funky hipster interior design that fitted the environment in East Vancouver. We came here many times. If we came earlier in the evening, there were always seats and tables but if we came here later at night, oh man! It could be packed and we had to wait in line. We look forward to going here again once they have finished renovation. We look forward to seeing their new look and of course enjoy their beer!

Yelp
Parallel 49 has a great vibe and a great big patio. Unlike most breweries, they actually serve food in a food truck that sits inside the actual brewery! With a lot of beers, you can probably do a few flights without repeating. Lots to try and lots on tap... I was brought here for a class and ended up liking the place so much that I just hanged around afterwards. It is in the middle of a commercial industrial zone but the brewery is filled with so many people enjoying the sun and beer that you forget of the dull box buildings just piled up around you. With the sun shining brightly into the brewery, you just lean back and enjoy the many different sips you can have in your flights. The staff here works pretty hard cleaning and clearing all the glasses. So there always seem to be space to sit since they glasses never pile up. Usual flights here are 4 smaller glasses and they're a reasonable $8. There is a huge selection you can pick and choose from... you got your radlers, trendy IPAs, red ales, and darker dopplebock. I know some people have complained about their recent change but this is still a very good spot that most cities wished they had. We tried a fair bit but I only strongly remember 2. Filthy Dirty - This one was brightly citrus when it first hits your tongue and stays that way till the last notes of bitterness takes over. If I really think about it ... it tastes like sour orange pith. A bit sweet, definitely tarty, and hits you with that mild bitter end. It's a patio drink for the summer. Boombox IPA - Another citrus IPA but this one is a bit different as it's more mellow and sweeter than the Filthy dirty. It almost has a creamier finish too. Not saying this is dessert but definitely a good one to have after dinner. Overall, I like it here for the vibe but also how it has a lot of food options and seating. Maybe that's the norm on the west coast but that's more the rare case in Toronto. I would definitely come back if I'm in the city.

Yelp
- More root beer and chicken wings please! - Friends + good food + beer = a chill week Parallel 49 Brewing is located in East Vancouver. My husband said they make nice wings and I am a big fried chicken fan. Perfect match! Root beer: I am not that into beer so I chose root beer. It looked darker than other root beer I've seen. The flavor of spice made it extraordinary and was strong in a good way. Best root beer I've ever had. Beer: a huge selection. I like their electronic tap list. I didn't try but my husband said it's nice. Wings: we tried 3 different flavors. - herbs: flavor was too weak and not salty enough. - bbq rub: superb, finger licking, well flavored. - sweet and spicy: it's very spicy but you can't help eating it. Their fries were yummy too. Tips: good to go with friends so that you can share a few pounds of wings with different flavor. Oh, I want their root beer again.

Yelp
This brewery has really improved on its service, beer selection and food options. Also, the atmosphere after the renovations is far more inviting & pleasurable than before. It can be a little overwhelming as there is a very large selection of beer to choose from on their computerized menu board. However, you're bound to find that exact beer you're looking for. I also happened to stop by when they had guest taps, beer from other breweries, which allowed for the opportunity to sample beer I otherwise may not have come across. I recommend getting a taster set if you haven't been here before. That way you get to maximize your tasting experience. It's not super cheap but it's quality local beer. I also appreciate the food truck they have placed in the tasting room. You can order donuts, fried chicken, etc. They also have some snacking options. I really like the charcuterie board. If you enjoyed the beer, you can pick some up on your way out from the on-site liquor sales room. Good work, Parallel 49; I'm impressed.

Yelp
Terrible service. Host forgot to register our name. Our group dressed up for Oktoberfest only to gain entry after the festivities ended. (2 hrs later). The place was empty. Beer was stale. Management was absent. Cannot recommend.

Yelp
We stopped here at the beginning of a brewery tour. We also had lunch to start our day. Great beers! Huge selection and so many great options. My fave was the Scot....caramel flavours and very smooth. For lunch we tried the wings and tacos. Everything was outstanding. Loved the salt and vinegar wings. They were so different and yummy. The poutine was also delicious. Great fries. Lots of seating. Open and comfortable area to enjoy drinks. Very nice staff.

Yelp
After being closed for a few months, it looks like they completely renovated the place. While the place is still popular, it is disappointing to see that the original character has all but vanished. How have things changed for the worse? Let me count the ways. - No more 3rd party food trucks in front. There is now a food truck looking kitchen (they took a trailer and cut it in half, then permanently mounted it inside) that makes in-house food. I didn't try the food this time, but I would assume there is no way they can match the variety that was available before. - The place went quite a bit upscale but the theme is now out of whack. For example, the drinks menu board behind the counter board now looks something out of an airport or ferry terminal. - The place is squeaky clean, to the point it has a strange artificial and sterile feeling. The feeling of authenticity is gone. It almost feels like a museum exhibit. - The chairs have been replaced with rigid clanky aluminum ones. These ones look and feel like they're from a prison. I'm sure this makes them easy to clean, but they're absolutely awful to sit on. - Flights used to be $4 (ie best deal in town). Now they're $8. The beer selection also seems to have doubled overnight, but a bunch of the original brews also seemed to be missing. - The staff used to know me by name since I was a regular. Now I don't recognize a single person. Where did they all go? I guess the good that came out of this situation is that there are more beers available before as mentioned, and that there's now an outdoor sidewalk patio. Too bad it's not covered though. My buddy and I got drenched when it suddenly began to rain. I came back a couple of times to try to get over the points listed above, but the place just feels weird now. I really have trouble recommending this place. Guess I'll have to reminisce over the good times I had over the years here, while drinking craft beer elsewhere. Such a shame.

Yelp
Great atmosphere, friendly people and fantastic food. I'm not a beer drinker but still found a ginger beer to enjoy. Came here with some colleagues pre-fright night and had a wonderful time. Interesting that you line up to order your beer and then find a seat. Made our party of 10 a little difficult to arrange but they helped make it work. Lots of choices on tap. The food was better than expected. I really enjoyed the chicken wings. Comes in 2 flavours and both were fantastic. The crispy cauliflower! So good! Crispy. Sweet. Yummy. The short ribs were good too. Lots of free parking around which is a nice bonus

Yelp
Like many of the East Van craft breweries, Parallel 49 is set in an industrial area of East Van. Everyone we ran into in that area of Triumph were only there to hit the tasting room/retail area/growler fill station. Nice to have the food truck out front each time we stopped by as like many craft breweries, the food options are very limited. The Parallel 49 beers are very popular in and around the Lower Mainland with many establishments carrying one or two of their products. Gypsy Tears (Ruby Ale) is a very popular beer (understandable as it is a very drinkable beer) but I am more of a fan of the Filthy Dirty IPA (7.2% and 76 IBU). The staff are pleasant and knowledgeable and each experience at Parallel 49 has been positive...it is worth the drive.
google avatar

Yelp
Terrible food. Had a chicken burger with this suspect green sauce on that tasted rancid. The worst. The beer is like cheap larger with flavouring that just tastes off.

Yelp
I hosted a retirement party for 40 people on the patio last night and Parallel 49 was AMAZING!! The numbers kept changing leading up to the date and the Jenna, the GM I was communicating with, was so flexible and accommodating. Everything went so smoothly, and everyone had a great time! There were no issues whatsoever, the staff were helpful and friendly, and even turned down the music outside so we could do speeches. It was a fantastic evening- great food, great beer, a great venue and great team! The guest of honour wanted a very casual and relaxed retirement party, which is exactly what he received!

Yelp
Parallel 49 is so awesome! I hadn't been to this new space, only to the old one, and WOW! What an improvement! Love the space, the number of beers on tap, the food truck inside - everything. Lots of variety in beers and good recommendations from the staff. Good food (at least the waffle fries with basil cream that I tried). Doors are open to the patio which made the space feel bigger and kept the noise down. Can't wait to come back here.

Yelp
Parallel 49 is one of my favourite breweries to hang out at! They recently renovated the tasting room so now there's a food truck inside - super cool. My fiancé and I each had a tasting flight (he got all IPAs and I got fruity/wheat ales), and we shared the pork tacos, fish tacos, and a beaver tail. Beers were fantastic as usual. The tacos were tasty, but they could've been more generous with the fish. Beaver tail was supposed to be served with ice cream, but they put it on top of the deep fried beaver tail so it melted completely by the time it was served. Not sure if this was intentional or not, but it made the beaver tail quite soggy. Flavour was good though. TLDR; Great ambience, excellent service, delicious beers, and decent food. You should come here.

Yelp
Parallel 49 is a real East Vancouver locals gem. I have a massive selection of water own beer and other locations on top. The selection rotates often. I actually don't drink beer very often but the people I go there with really enjoy the selection. I tend to drink cider and previously they did not have any cider regularly on top which was disappointing Even though I understand the place is really catering to be here and not other beverages. I suspect that myself and others requested the location to carry at least one side or regularly and then to guys that since that time they carry 2-3 local artisan cider is on top at all times. The food in their kitchen is one notch above pub food. The staff in the kitchen and front of house work very hard and we keep going back largely because of their welcoming attitude. This place gets very busy on a Friday or Saturday night as it should. We like to go early to avoid the crowds. This place really shines in the summertime when their patio is drenched in sunshine. You often find all sorts of locals and beer lovers at P49 not to mention families and kids which is awesome.

Yelp
If you drink, then you must come here. It's got flights for about $4.00. This is the place to get drunk on the cheap. Sure, it's not really a bar. It's a tasting room. It's a small space and usually so crowded that you cannot even get a seat. But the beer is cheap! Downsides: -Not much...it only has one washroom....and there's not enough seating....but then, none of the other tasting rooms have enough either so...really, it's just mostly upside if you like to drink. To me, it's not a bar, but a place to drink. It's not a place to meet people (unless of course it's to meet your friends) but a place to drink. It somewhat reminds me of the cambie, except newer. But it's not a place to meet people...it's literally a place just to get drunk really cheap in a clean establishment.

Yelp
Went there with a group for a holiday party and the whole experience was really quite oppressive. The staff were rude and surly. Specifically the "manager" who was too cool for us apparently. But not too cool to strap his hat to his belt buckle as he threw down our food onto the tables and grabbed peoples drinks before they were finished. He also hulk crushed my receipt in front of me that was obnoxiously aggressive and unnecessary. From the moment we walked in, it was apparent he didn't want us there which was gross because it was a group of POC's mostly queer female and non binary and as a white cis presenting man you'd think you do not want to publicly flex its racism and privilege so publicly. I would never ever recommend this place to people because it is socially and culturally violent. They have a beer called "Gypsy Tears" which is racist and inappropriate. Which accurately reflects this places values. Lots of great craft places around that are full of staff that are kind and generous and thoughtful. P49 was douche self absorbed central. ‍

Yelp
I've had plenty of their beers but never been to their brewery! Wow, they did not disappoint. There's a wide variety of beer that you can't get and I was pleasantly surprised to see barley wine on the menu. Their poutine was really good but Mac and cheese was just ok. The dill pickle wings and sweet and sour flavour were also worth a try. Overall a great experience!

Yelp
The short: - tried over 5 times since 2019, will definitely go back - great ipas and food (best chicken wings I have had in Vancouver yet) - allow dogs (on patio) The long: - great ipa options: my favs are pic-a-hop Ella, undulator ipa, hurricarana ipa, pic-a-hop galaxy, pic-a-hop sabro, pic-a-hop el dorado, trash panda - food is great: my favs are the yuzu fish sauce chicken wings and pork belly taco. Other good options I tried are the chicken wings with sweet and spicy rub, and salt and pepper; Korean sandwich with a vegetarian patty (instead of chicken), waffle fries. - service is typically good but slightly slow. One time a waitress was rude when we asked her to clean another table which was available at the same time, because we preferred the sunny section. I did not think that our request was unreasonable or demanded such a response. She might not have meant it and I hope it was an anomaly - good COVID-19 safety measures: contact tracing, screens between tables, physical distancing is not enforced strictly albeit signs, QR code menu, sanitization station - the surrounding view is average - big patio - multiple, good-sized, fairly clean bathrooms - could not see dedicated parking but street parking available for free - usually busy and involves waiting for a table

Yelp
Love the renovation they did to the space!! More bathrooms, more taps, TWO patios, and more food!!! My only complaint is that the staff often seems grouchy, buuttt......I might be too when many people are loud in a tiny space lol All in all a great brewery with kickass brews and a fun atmosphere.

Yelp
This place is a little hidden gem. The atmosphere is very nice. They have a full menu for food. The donut is in between a donut and pretzel but hits the spot. Over 30 beers to choose from. They have indoor and outdoor seating. There's also little souvenir shop in the brewery.

Yelp
Large selection on drinks and food. I love this place. Located off Hastings, i feel the true East Vancouver vibe here. Staffs are friendly, the clientele are chilled. This place is great ! Definitely try out their root beer. Couldn't believe non-alcoholic can taste so good. Deep fried cauliflower/broccoli was amazing. Must try.

Yelp
Excellent bites. The short ribs, curly fries, and the daily donuts are awesome. Big fan of the Trash Panda, which goes with almost anything that I order. Great outdoor patio and space that keeps me coming back time and time again.

Yelp
10/10 - One of the best brewery experiences that I've had. Their bbq rub buffalo wings were literally the best and we ended up ordering more. I ordered their cranberry sour, and ended up ordering another as well. Do you see a pattern? The bartender was so nice and chatted with us a bit about Vancouver and Toronto and gave us some recommendations of what to do in the city. A place I'd love to take some friends to next time I venture up to Vancouver!

Yelp
Loved my time at Parallel 49, but the highlight for me wasn't the beer, it was the chicken wings - holy mother hen these meat bones are so flavourful, I think I ate 6 in less than 30 seconds I couldn't get enough. Beautifully deep fried but also the rub! Done get me started! It is so hard to find a wing with a dry rub that's actually delicious. Parallel has nailed this rub, I think it's got some brown sugar on it which is a wonderful contrast to the salt. I could eat three baskets of these, and the beer obviously complimented these wings nicely. We also had he poutine which was stellar but man those wings! We also tried a doughnut because why not and it wasn't my fave, tasted much too fruity. I like the decor of this place, it's patio and it's Vegas betting style electronic board of beers. The chairs were quite uncomfortable at the high tops but such is life I guess. All in all solid time had on our brew tour, happy we stopped here.

Yelp
Love their beer. Love their food. Love their vibe. This place is definitely a locals spot and is ALWAYS busy. The beers change regularly and there is always something new and interesting to try on the menu. My favourites: Trash Panda IPA Ruby Tears Northwest Red Ale Tart Peach Weise As for food, I almost always end up ordering the fried chicken burger or the broccoli. The tasting room is kid friendly and reservations are available.

Yelp
We live locally so we rode our bikes down so my wife could enjoy a beer on a hot summer evening. She had the Saison and said it was delicious. I had a root beer, INCREDIBLE! SO fragrant and spicy. As we were sitting near the food truck area, we were privy to all the food coming out for the folks who were eating. Behold the spicy chicken sandwich! My wife said...'oh you and Paris (our son) have GOT to come back for that!' So we did, last night, and WOW, when food manages to taste as good as it looks! BEST chicken sandwich in the city, easy! The atmosphere here is loud, vibrant, and fun, maybe not the best for little kids.
