I came to this motel expecting a place that would be wheelchair accessible and supportive, as promised, but the reality was far from it. Being disabled, I rely on the people running these kinds of places to actually care about their guests, but that wasn't the case here. From the moment I arrived, the staff showed zero interest in making my stay comfortable. For one, the room wasn’t even remotely set up to accommodate someone in a wheelchair. They told me when I booked that they’d “look after me,” but that turned out to be a joke. They expected me to go to the back of the building to get my own laundry and towels, knowing full well that the path back there wasn’t even accessible for a wheelchair. I’m still shocked at the lack of basic decency from the staff. The room itself was in terrible condition. The bed had yellow stains on the sheets, the wood was rotting, and the whole place smelled horrible—like a mix of damp and garbage. It felt like they hadn’t cleaned the room in ages, and it definitely wasn’t ready for any guest, let alone someone with special needs. The furniture was in bad shape, like it had been through years of wear and tear without any care or replacement. It’s hard to believe they think it’s acceptable to put guests in rooms that look and smell like that. But what really got me was how completely uninterested the staff were in addressing any of these issues. They acted like I was bothering them for asking basic questions and raising concerns about the room’s condition. It felt like they couldn’t be bothered to help me, or anyone for that matter. When you're running a place where people come to stay, especially those with disabilities, you’d think the staff would show some care and understanding, but that was clearly too much for them. The state of the room wasn’t just unpleasant—it was unhygienic. I ended up with bed mites, which was a horrible experience. I even had to go to the hospital to get treatment for the irritation. The kitchen wasn’t any better—it was crawling with cockroaches. This is not what I expect from any motel, no matter the price. The lack of concern from the staff made the whole experience worse than it needed to be. It’s one thing to deal with an old building, but when the people running the place clearly don’t care about their guests, it turns a bad stay into a terrible one. This motel is a disgrace, and I’d advise anyone thinking of staying here to seriously reconsider.

One star for the location - an easy walk to the Gabba - but little else to recommend it. My father paid extra for "early" check-in, which turned out to be 1 pm as confirmed via a phone call at 9 am.  Assurances  were given that we would receive the room access code via SMS before 1 pm. When we arrived saturated at 1:13 pm... No SMS. This required another phone call, this time with cranky pants donned. The room was dated. There was instant coffee provided, but no tea bags. In the kitchen cupboards were found open packets of foodstuff from previous guests. In the bathroom, a toilet roll, paper gone, on the windowsill. The cistern ran non-stop. There were roaches. On the fourth and final day of our stay, we arrived in the afternoon to find our beds stripped with sheets - still folded - left on top of them. Either leave the old ones on or make the beds with new sheets for pity's sake. What a stitch up. It was a relief to leave and not look back.

A truly awful place. My friend and I requested twin beds in a non smoking room when we decided to spend a couple of nights attending some theatre. || We arrived a couple of hours early but couldn’t get in until they sent us a code right on 2pm. For an early checkin or late checkout they charge $30 an hour! ||The queen room we were allocated was disgusting. First of all, the bedding was a lumpy old queen. The bathroom absolutely stunk. It was shabby and hadn’t been updated in any way since it was built.||We were also pleased it had a pool, but found when we got there that the water was green and opaque, and the surrounding Astro Turf mouldy and black. ||Since this joint is fully automated, there was no one onsite to speak to so we found a phone number and spoke to an Indian chap. We found our booking confirmation and it clearly stated twin beds. We were told we could be upgraded to a family room since NO queen rooms had 2 beds, but that we would have to pay the difference. Naturally, we declined and after about 40 minutes of negotiation, we were finally put into a family room at no added cost . ||I didn’t see that any of the surrounding rooms were occupied ( which is hardly surprising!) , but we were placed right next to a room with a Mum and several teenagers who chatted loudly and smoked into the night. Why not put us into another room a bit distant from that? ||There was a leaky tap in the bathroom which ran all night, and no one to tell. The floors were sticky and the shower tiles caked with mould. ||What more can I say? The place should be condemned. I don’t know how they get away with it.

Please do not stay here!! From the lack of cleanliness to the poor maintenace it's a disgrace of a place. First off, the only fire alarm in the room was covered over by a plastic bag! In a room advertised for non-smokers! The curtains were falling off the rail, there were bugs in the room, stains on all the bedding and chairs, and housekeeping let themselves in twice before our selected check-out time!! (They barely knocked seconds beforehand, giving us no time to react). The door code was also changed before our selected check out time, so if all of us left the room like my friend did we would've all been locked out prior to our check out time :( Do yourself a favour and do NOT stay here, unless you are lucky enough to get the room advertised or shown on some of the better reviews - ours looked nothing like it!! Absolutely appalled and disgusted.

As a Senior Executive within a company that frequently secures accommodations for our Cast and Crew across various locales, it is with a profound sense of disappointment and distaste that I submit this review regarding Paramount Hotel. The egregious lack of professionalism demonstrated by this establishment and its staff is nothing short of deplorable. The management has seen fit to completely absolve itself from any interaction with its patrons, thereby stripping away every conceivable vestige of what constitutes basic hospitality. The hotel's description and accompanying promotional photographs are egregiously misleading. Nowhere in their advertising do they mention the absence of a compendium, nor do they provide any indication that housekeeping is not included as part of the nightly rate. Furthermore, the state of the rooms is utterly appalling—old, tattered, and grievously worn down. It is unconscionable that this vital information is omitted, leaving guests to endure substandard accommodations that starkly contrast with what is falsely represented. One of our Senior team members had the misfortune of staying at this establishment and experienced daily discomfort and dismay. The room was pervaded by an unpleasant odor, and each night was marked by encounters with cockroaches and bed mites, causing considerable distress and sleeplessness due to incessant itching and scratching. This is not merely an oversight; it reflects a complete dereliction of the basic standards of hygiene and care that any reputable motel should adhere to. Adding insult to injury, the management has imposed a so-called 'damage deposit'—a security measure that is rendered farcical when considering the dilapidated state of the room itself. With torn beds, broken cupboard hinges, and makeshift shelving that could easily belong in a junkyard, it is absurd to demand such a deposit when the room is already in a condition that can only be described as decrepit. The nightly rate is egregiously disproportionate to the level of service—or rather, the lack thereof—offered by what can only be described as a one-star motel, and even that rating is generous. The room is littered with signs instructing guests on what they must do, yet the management does virtually nothing to uphold its own responsibilities. Instead, they have prioritized investing in elaborate security measures for the doors, seemingly to avoid any on-site presence or engagement, all at the expense of guest comfort, living standards, and basic room service. This establishment, quite frankly, is unworthy of even a single star. It is categorically not recommended for any traveler, whether for business or leisure. A one-star hostel would be far superior, at least offering the basic decency of human interaction and support from staff and management. Paramount Hotel would be well-advised to reevaluate its business model, which appears to serve only the interests of its owners, with no regard for the well-being or comfort of its guests. Such a model is not only fundamentally flawed but also contemptible in its disregard for the very principles of hospitality. NOT RECOMMENDED. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

The Room was dirty, with cockroaches, the stove was full of Grease, the kitchenware was dirty from prévious tenants. Dont know how it can BE a 4 star motel, if not even a One star it deserves. After complained nothing was done at all.

Rooms clean and spacious , but trying to contact them regarding a lost laptop left in the room. Tried calling them but the number won’t connect, sent 3 emails but only to get an automated email back, my Grandaughter left her laptop that she had for her birthday in a cupboard, so frustrating how do you get hold of them

AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS. There is nothing remotely redeeming about this establishment. From the moment we arrived, it was glaringly evident that the owners are more concerned with profiteering than providing even the most basic semblance of hospitality. They have clearly invested in frivolous additions such as WiFi-generated locks for security, but have left the motel itself to deteriorate into a state of utter disrepair. The management is entirely uncontactable. There is no one to address concerns, and they demonstrate a complete absence of regard for the wellbeing of their guests. Upon our arrival, the room was in a shambolic state—unmade, unsanitary, and completely uninhabitable. The furniture looked as though it had been scavenged from the discard pile of an op shop. Yet, despite the deplorable conditions, the management had the audacity to charge us for housekeeping. Worse still, they failed to address any of the issues we raised and exhibited not a modicum of concern for our comfort. Their disregard for hospitality is matched only by their mendacity. They lie without hesitation and, when confronted with their shortcomings, simply cease all communication, abandoning their guests to fend for themselves in this miserable excuse for accommodation. The state of the room was appalling—yellow-stained bedsheets, rotting wood, and a pervasive stench that could only be likened to a garbage dump. The room was unmade when we arrived, and despite our complaints, they did absolutely nothing to rectify the situation. To compound their outrageous behavior, they began charging our credit card for unauthorized transactions, a matter which we are now pursuing with the Queensland Department of Fair Trading. We are also filing a complaint with the Anti-Discrimination Board of Queensland, as this motel is grossly inaccessible for individuals with disabilities, despite being fully aware of my brother's condition and needs. They exhibited no care or effort to accommodate his requirements, and their property is fundamentally unfit for anyone with mobility challenges. Despite charging us $90 for housekeeping services, not a single cleaner ever appeared until we demanded that they arrive without delay or face a court complaint. The only way to lodge a complaint was through the Bookings.com messaging app, as their listed phone number goes unanswered—never once did anyone pick up, leaving us entirely at their mercy, which they only deigned to acknowledge when it suited them. The infestation of bed mites was so severe that my travel companion required hospital treatment for skin irritation, and the kitchen was overrun with cockroaches, rendering the space entirely unusable. Do not be deceived by the misleading photographs they display on booking sites. They are nothing but fabrications, designed to lure unsuspecting guests into what can only be described as a nightmare. They even have the temerity to request a damage deposit, despite the room being so badly damaged upon arrival that it is beyond comprehension why such a deposit would be necessary. In short: AVOID THIS DISGUSTING PLACE LIKE THE PLAGUE. It is unfit for habitation, and the only thing more offensive than the state of the motel is the conduct of its owners.
