Comfortable rooms at a great deal in the heart of the Old City! We were very happy to find a hotel with enough beds in one room for us. The beds were comfortable and there was plenty of space. The manager (owner?) is also often around and very helpful and friendly. There is tons to do within walking distance, including one of the most beautiful temples right next door, a fantastic street market on Sundays, and plenty of great restaurants and stores. This is truly a gem!

Nicely located centre of old city as walking distance to nearby attractions. The room is spacious for solo traveller like me and the bed is comfy. The downside is the water pressure is quite low and there's no elevator as it quite difficult for family with stroller and big luggages. Overall it's a great hotel.

The owners really need to throw some investment into this place. Wonderful location especially for the big Sunday night market, our corner room was dated, the mattress very old as next to no support in it. The power had gone out on the street meaning most of the rooms had lost power especially to the AC, the manager has gone home and the chap left there did his best to tell us what was going on. We sat in the restaurant underneath the hotel but we were not offered a drink or food or anything at all. This was 11pm. There were no other rooms available to move into either. We eventually got back into the room around 1am the AC came on for around 15 minutes then went off again. Couple we travelled with next door their AC unit was leaking with water.we left the next morning to get a new hotel. Disappointed as this has a real prime location, but rooms are tired, the shower was poor, AC didn't work. just needs some money spent on it before people stop going.

Rooms as dark as tombs. Asked to not open the windows because the next building is so close that no light gets in and you'd be starring at a wall. Location is at the busiest intersection with traffic that runs constantly. We were a party of seven and one is a smoker - asked innocently if they could smoke in the outdoor terrace and we're told threateningly that there would be a 4000 baht fine. Not very welcoming or friendly. The owner sits in the lobby counting the money like a Dickens character and watching every customer suspiciously, also unfriendly. Even if your a guest, you're aggressively given menus in the terrace area and made to feel like a nuisance. I don't usually leave bad reviews but the final straw was a staff member rushing by and one of our party who turned to quickly get out of the way, with their bag in their back, and knocked a bottle of the table and they immediately wanted 30 baht for the broken bottle. Not very understanding given it was their fault and we'd just spent a fair amount of money staying. We moved to somewhere else after 3 days, the much nicer Panna heritage boutique hotel. Overall the worst accommodation I've had in Chiang mai in 5 visits. P. Noisy staff early in the morning will wake you up.

The Parasol Inn is great value for money. We booked just 1 night before our onward trip. The room is clean and the bed is comfortable. The location is perfect, located right beside the Sunday night market in the Old Town. The owner is a very nice man always happy to greet us.

It is located in the center of old town in Chiang Mai, it is very easy to reach many attractive places in the city. Wat Chedi Luang is next to this inn, and it is beautiful at night. Wat Phra Singh in also in walking distance. There are few staff members at the front, but the master, I guess, of this inn sitting in the lobby always pays his attention to the guests and helps us when we need his help. He always takes care of our little baby girl. There are no elevators, but the room is big enough to open our big suitcases. It is not quiet because of noisy tourists, cars and bikes, but it is a kind of atmosphere of this old town. I think it was reasonable accommodation when we think about the location.

Location - the best if you want to enjoy Sunday Walking Street night market from the centre.Be aware that this is walk-up hotel, no lift, therefore may not suitable for those with big suitcases / elderly with mobility difficulties.Overall, recommended hotel.

The Parasol Room, strategically placed at Chiang Mai's vibrant Sunday market, offers a last-minute escape from the backpacker lodge. While the absence of windows was noted, I was pleasantly surprised to find a sliding window in the bathroom that allowed sunlight to filter through. Overall, the hotel proved to be a satisfactory choice, and I extend my gratitude to the staff for facilitating communication with the car rental company, making my stay more enjoyable.
