There’s a boat ride available in the river for just ₹50, and I also noticed a floating restaurant nearby (though I didn’t visit it). Coming to the temple rituals, I absolutely loved witnessing the Theyyam performed before allowing devotees for darshan. As per the information I received, this ritual takes place daily. It adds a very unique and spiritual touch to the experience. The prasadam here was quite surprising—boiled gram, coconut pieces, and hot tea—which I haven’t seen at many other temples. I visited on a weekday, and the crowd was manageable. They offer many pooja options, and I noticed that quite a few families come here for the first rice-feeding ceremony (Annaprashanam) for babies. The temple surroundings are very neat and clean, which makes the visit even more pleasant. Overall, a beautiful and peaceful place worth visiting.

Pros:- One of the sacred temple of kannur district of kerala. Many people from south kerala also visit this place. Sri Muthappan madapara is one of the famous home god for kannur people. The place is really good for the its scenic beauty as well its temple ambience. Tea and pier will be served as the prasad here. Boating facilities are available here. Enough paid car parking facilities are available here. Lot of shops are present here for purchasing bangles, chain, toys, fancy items etc. No ticket is required. Weekends will be a bit of rush. Cons:- No cons. It is one of the place which each and every Malayali must visit once in a lifetime. People from kannur will definitely visit frequently. Try to visit this place during muthappan vellatam⛩️🛕

Very Beautiful temple of God Sri Muthappan on the Banks of the river. This temple is unique for two things. 1. prasdam which includes dry fish. 2. Theyyam - Every day in the morning and evening one can witness Theyyam. Its a divine experience one cannot miss. Right next to the temple, there is boating activity. Also there is a lot of shops where one can shop. For stays, there is lot of options. Things i didn't like was no proper management of Slipper stand.. ppl were just leaving it here and there just tonsave a few bucks..
