Let me start by summarising it precisely (Google still resists to provide the opportunity for giving fractional points):
Food: 3.5 stars
Service: 1.5 stars
Atmosphere: 4.25 stars
The attitude of a staff member (probably a manager or supervisor - an older Hungarian lady) was absolutely unacceptable. She shouldn't be working in the restaurant industry if she reacts to customers with such disgust and spite.
The four of us arrived at different times, with a ~5 minute delay between the couples. There were hardly any customers in the restaurant for an average-looking Tuesday early afternoon. We received four menus immediately, but obviously the other couple could only start checking theirs out ~5 minutes later. When she returned to our table, I said: 'We might need a bit more time,' in a very polite manner. She frowned and stormed off. 4.5 minutes later, we were ready and placed our orders, but the waiter in question continued to act 'hurt' for absolutely no reason.
The food was prepared in a reasonable amount of time, but even after all the dishes had been served, we still hadn't received our drinks (nothing fancy: lemonade, soft drinks and water). Furthermore, we were given only one spoon even though two dishes would normally require a spoon. As Thai food can be spicy, one of us would have preferred the drinks to be ready. I walked to the counter where the same lady was dealing with a paying customer. When that transaction was done, and I was still standing there, she still didn't acknowledge me. I finally had to ask her loudly if she could bring us the drinks and an extra spoon. It was absolutely ridiculous and a tragically bad customer service.
After that, we didn't really have to interact with the staff again. The food was overall 'acceptable' (my red curry was really good, the rest were average or slightly subpar). The atmosphere of the restaurant is really cool and pleasant, but due to our horrid experience with the service, this place is NOT recommended.
As a cherry on top, when I paid for everything and said 'köszönjük, viszlát', she didn't respond at all. What a joke of a wannabe restaurant manager! I realise she might have been having a bad day, but that doesn't excuse and justify such behaviour towards paying customers.
Don't worry, we won't be visiting again.
