On the Grid : Parchment Coffee Traders

"This is definitely the place to go if you’re serious about coffee. The owner, Phillip, knows a thing or two. He roasts his own beans to make a perfectly balanced espresso. Accompanied with a chilled sparkling water it’s heaven. Parchment Coffee Traders is a great little place to enjoy a quick coffee on the way to work, or a place to relax with friends over a damn fine brew." - Thinkbone

I really wanted to like this place, but unfortunately my experience was spoiled—literally. I ordered a slice of cake that looked decent at first glance, but after a few bites, I noticed something wasn’t right. A closer look revealed mould growing on the underside. Not exactly the surprise you hope for with dessert. When I politely pointed it out to the staff, the reaction was underwhelming—no apology, just a refund of $6.50 on a $25 purchase from the cafe. Staff was absolutely rude and claiming it was freshly baked Food safety should be non-negotiable, especially for something as simple as a slice of cake. I hope they take this seriously and improve their quality control, but I won’t be back to find out.

Great coffee period, one of the best in Paddington, very unassuming but the coffee on both a normal or strong was on point. The pastries and pies look delicious, however I am yet to try any food here. One somewhat confusing/annoying thing is ordering at the front with the barista then having to go to the back and pay and repeat your order or having the barista yell across the cafe to provide the register the order. The staff are very welcoming and lovely, they have a range of food options and there is limited indoor and outdoor seating.Always has a nice floral assortment outside. Great little coffee spot in Paddington and I highly recommend the coffee.

My daughter's favourite we call it 'Paddo Pie' , and the matcha and acai smoothie were a tasty treat - great little cafe to spend some memorable Dad & Daughter time!

i came here for lunch with my family and we were pleasantly surprised its a Nice coffee shop and it stands out for the paddington area and its located on the main street, their coffee and pies/rolls are to die for they offer a wide range of yummy savoury and desert options on their menu despite being such a small shop, the interior is unique and stylish

Delicious flakey homemade pies. Great value at $8. Based on the quality, you could easily charge double that. I’ll be back

Terrible service. The woman that attended me was in a really bad mood, I just got there and asked if I ordered to her and her response was “what do you want” with an aggressive tone. I work in hospitality and I know it may be exhausting, but that’s what you get payed for, so at least do it well.

Delicious coffee and tasty frittata that is a very generous portion. I got no fuss vibes - just a nice spot to enjoy a really good coffee. Rather unassuming!

The best coffee in Paddington, great freshly baked pastries, fruit smoothies. Indoor seating and lovely staff.
