Pardon Cafe & Bistro Sibiu

We just stopped for a drink in the terrasse. The waiter told me that I could go upstairs to see the rest of the place, even if it was closed at that moment. It's a beautiful place, and the friendliness of that specific person warmed my heart :)

As a short review, this place is pretty good and cozy. We chose the patio, as the weather was perfect. The waiter was great. She handled our silly jokes with elegance. The food? Pretty good. I chose the mussels. Though, they were not the best mussels ever, they were pretty good. My only complain was that I had to pay cash. I knew beforehand, as I was informed when I made the reservation, but still, in 2024, I had to pay cash in the old town of Sibiu? This is pretty ridiculous. I hope they fix this issue next time I'll visit and I will update my rating.

I’ve been here before and really enjoyed jt, but this time was really not it. The zucchini pasta were one of the saddest pasta I’ve ever ordered somewhere - it was literally something I would make on a lazy week night at home with fridge leftovers. No sauce, just boiled pasta and some boiled zucchini floating in water - I would be embarassed to serve this in a restaurant. Also, just like several other reviews mention, they only accept cash and the waiter only told us at the end of the meal using the excuse that the card reader does not work. It’s a bit embarassing to use such an excuse when so many reviews mention the exact same thing. But the restaurant itself is very pretty and the previous time I visited the experience was good so it has potential.

We went there one morning, had breakfast, everything was perfect. The omelette is delicious, perfectly cooked. So, the next day we went there again. They open at 10:00AM. It was 11:30, we sat at the terrace, I saw someone was watching us form the inside but nobody came to our table. After about 15 minutes I wanted to check inside, but the door was locked and nobody answered. And we weren't the only ones waiting. Very nice attitude...

We had couple of margherita pizzas, overall good flavours however the dough was undercooked so would recommend the Chef to ensure proper oven temperature and time used for the crust to be proper. Also, the topping included rucola (arugula) instead of fresh basil which was unusual as the menu clearly stated basil, obviously the ingredient we expected. Good quality otherwise and great customer service for this location.

The food and service were below our expectations. The food had a strange taste and didn’t feel really fresh. Also, only being able to pay cash was a bit of a surprise and felt inconvenient. On the bright side, the place looks great and has a nice atmosphere.

The location is good nice and beautiful. The waiters are ok, at the beginning, they have a lot to learn. Menu can have more variety, they have pasta, seafood/fish, salad, in a large variety but the pork, chicken, beef or the side are like 3-4 options on each. I ate the chicken breast on grill with vegetables on pan ( onion, red pepper, zucchini ) which was good, juice and taste nice. My friend got the carbonara pasta which was ok and tasty.

By far the best restaurant we ate at in Romania (we even came back a second time on our last day!). Food and service were excellent, made fresh from scratch in the half-open kitchen. Although there weren't many vegetarian options, the chef was more than happy to make something according to any dietary restrictions. The service was amazing. We had a great experience!
