I've been here twice now & figured that I would write about both visits. The first visit the restaurant was full. Good for business, not so great for anyone bothered by crowds (people with any anxiety, people sensitive to noise, my fellow neuro spicy folks). I'd suggest trying an off time for a more enjoyable visit.
During the first visit I used the bathroom. It was well lit, clean & fully stocked as far as paper products & actually having hand soap.
During the first visit I didn't try anything as I had already eaten which is why I stopped by again. The second visit I went later in the day (about 3-ish pm). It was much quieter making it easier to look at everything on display.
They have a lot to choose from, from sandwiches, salads & so many croissants to various decadent desserts such as pastries, macarons, to cake. We picked up a few sweets to try (completely self serve here). After choosing everything on the floor we went to the counter for a couple of the macarons which are a favorite of my daughter's.
Everyone behind the counter were doing their assigned jobs. Our order was boxed up & we paid. This was the only time we had any interaction with an employee. The cashier was friendly.
When we got home we dove in. The first thing we tried were the little puff pastries. They are light, fluffy & have a good amount of cream in the center. 10/10
Next we had a couple of the small fruit tarts. Again, little puff pastries with berries on top, a light drizzle (I want to say honey but it's probably actually a glaze type of drizzle). The berries were perfect, not overripe. 10/10
Later in the day I had a very big croissant. It had what I believe are slivered nuts, maybe almonds all over it plus the chocolate drizzle. Not the freshest but I'm not sure if it's supposed to be like that as it was my first time eating this pastry. It was good nonetheless. 8/10
Lastly the macarons. Two vanilla (so we were told) & I think the purple is taro. My daughter wasn't impressed with these. She's had macarons from other French bakeries & said these were not as good. I don't have the palette of a teenager but I thought the bite I had wasn't too bad. But this is based on her thoughts so she gave it a 4/10.
All in all, it's nice trying new things. I'll be back since there's a LOT to choose from. Maybe I'll get a sandwich or I'll try one of the croissants. They put everything in those!
My advice here is to go try it. If you have issues with crowds or noise levels that rival a school cafeteria I'd suggest you visit later in the day after the breakfast & lunch rush. Just don't blame me for the extra weight gain or the sugar high should you overindulge.
