Waiters are not rude. They’re just French. And that can be both good and bad- it also depends on you! Food was as it should be. Excellent bernaise sauce. Fantastic mousse au chocolat. Buzzy. Fun.

I would say service is slow, but people who work in your kitchen are magicians. It’s better than in Paris, food I will come back for thousands of times!

We had dinner at Paris Bar on a Thursday evening, and overall, it was a very pleasant experience. The staff were friendly and professional, creating a welcoming atmosphere from the start. The food was excellent, well-prepared and served without unnecessary fuss. What stood out was the sense of familiarity — many guests were clearly regulars, which gave the place a lived-in charm. It’s the kind of place where you can settle in comfortably, without any pretence, and simply enjoy good food in good company. If you appreciate a classic, local institution with its own character, it’s worth a visit.

The food is amazing!!!!!!! Don’t know why people have some bad reviews it’s the best steak I’ve eaten in a decade! The staff are super nice and the atmosphere makes you feel like you are really in Paris! Must come!

Google
Another easy five stars. The steak was amazing and the french fries blew my mind. It was crunchy and well seasoned. Moreover, the salad was fresh and had some french dressing of course. To top it off, we were served very well by the waiter. Had a great experience there overall and would highly recommend my friends to go there.

Went to the bar because David Bowie used to hang out there. Asked if the table was free, waiter said yes. It was afternoon and there were other empty tables outside. I sat down, ordered a coffee. Then another waiter shows up and says, “Next time, tell me your order before you sit.” What?! I left, wondering if they were being rude, or just deeply committed to racism. If you’re going there for Bowie, do him a favor and skip it.

Don’t go! Even though the restaurant is traditional from Berlin, the food is terrible! We got the steak frites and the octopus and they were both cold and burnt, and the fries were ✨E X T R E M E L Y ✨salty! We had the schnitzel there 8 years ago, and the waiter completely hid it from the menu, even though I had the picture!

Google
Shocking. The most expensive glasses of wine in Berlin - €14.50 for a bog standard small glass of rose, €10.50 for a small glass of white wine and €9.50 for a bottle of mineral water - this is shameful. The waiter clearly took advantage of us and charged us ridiculous prices that don’t appear in the menu. Was it because we were 2 single females or tourists? You should be ashamed of yourself. My advice if you do go is … check the menu and keep a record of what you things cost, don’t trust the affable waiter.

Yelp
They wouldn't even let me in the door I was visiting Berlin for work along with my family (husband and son, 11 y.o., not a toddler) and looking forward to dining here as I run an art organization just outside of the NYC area. I was happy to patronize a restaurant with such longtime art associations. We arrived somewhat early for dinner because we'd skipped lunch and were hungry but also thought it might be best to visit before the regular evening dining rush arrived. Unfortunately, upon opening the door and greeting the host, we were told that the kitchen was about to close at 5:00 and they could not seat us. This was a Wednesday night. They are open from noon until 1 AM. There were open tables everywhere inside and outside with perhaps a couple of seated guests. I tried to clarify that we were wanting to eat, and while I can speak some German, it's not 100%, and I thought perhaps I was understanding the opposite - that the kitchen OPENED at 5:00. But no, he was telling me that we couldn't get a meal, that the kitchen was closing. It was very apparent that we were not wanted there as patrons, so we left and had a fabulous multi-course sushi dinner next door. As we left, I could see they had patrons seated at the outside tables, and there were other guests entering and exiting. They were open, they just weren't open for us. I will NEVER go back there and don't recommend other people patronize them if this is their attitude to potential clientele.

Yelp
Truly awful experience with remarkably bad service. Called ahead to make a reservation and showed up to find them not ready. Ordered our meal and were served entrees after a while and then our waiter disappeared. Half an hour plus later finally we got one of the other waiters to check on our order and, apparently, grumpily re-enter it. The mains were ****, a stunningly crude and oily-fish heavy bouillabaisse and a limp entrcôte, which only added to the insult of having to wait nearly an extra hour for them to show up. The waiter further had a bizarrely idgaf attitude to boot, being both unapologetic and checked out. When we expressed how unhappy we were they sent us a dessert and two half glasses of champagne and then CHARGED US FOR THE DESSERT AND TWO FULL GLASSES OF CHAMPAGNE. I've never wanted to dine and dash more. If you're planning on eating here, please, just keep scrolling.

Yelp
SO expensive. The food is pretty decent but oh boy is that dear. 6 escargots for €16, come on. We had the Entrecôte for 2 and it was €70. The meat is excellent. The fries are good, crispy and well done. The other sides are pretty disappointing though. You'd think you'd get more than that. One negative aspect was that we were there on a Sunday night, the restaurant was absolutely packed, and since there's no ventilation at the back, the room was dead hot. Service was also really really long. We gave up on asking for more water and for dessert after waiting ages for the waiter to come.

Yelp
This place sucks. Service really non-existance even though we came in with some locals. Patrons are people who thought they are cool. Berlin bar scene is so much better than this Paris bar.

Yelp
This restaurant has seen better days my friend says that who have lived in Berlin for 18 years. I would say it's living on its old reputation of being the venue of the culture elite. Today I would say it's a tourist trap. The Food was ok but really overpriced for its quality, the service was inattentive and the waiter mixed up our food. We don't mind spending money on dining but we have seen much better service and food in Berlin for less euros spent. However is the venue really interesting with lots of art from famous German artists.

Yelp
This used to be the hangout of super stars like Sophia Loren or Robert Redford. Well...The glory days are gone, with all the competition coming from fancy new restaurants in Mitte, Friedrichshain and others....so do not expect to meet Lady Gaga any time soon here. But you can sense the classiness everywhere...The hundreds of pictures on the walls from the glorious ages, the decoration, the drinks and ofcourse the food....i had the chance to enjoy the best steak of my life here. The Service guy was a sweet old guy...and if he weren't too easy going and relaxed in reponsing to our multiple calls, i would have given 5 stars.

Yelp
We very disappointed in the Paris Bar June 9th .We choose this place for what we though would be a fantastic memory of our trip to Berlin. My steak was so tough I only ate one bite, my daughters was wonderful, one out of two 50 percent not good odds. Also we weren't asked how our meal was during the evening, or we would have said something ,thus we just paid and left. Granted we most likely will not be returning but when asked about this place we will not recommend it. We will also let the publishers Where chefs eat know our disappointment.

Yelp
I like this place. One of my favorite meals in Berlin. Great, traditional German cuisine as well as French cuisine, fantastic service and cool atmosphere. It's also very close to Kurfurstendamm and the major hotels. I was staying at the Sofitel, so it was very easy to walk to.

Yelp
This is my favorite restaurant in Berlin. I love the atmosphere and the staff and the food is exceptional. The restaurant is often crowded but friendly. Don't be surprised if you are seated near a movie star or some other celebrity. The menu has all the French bistro favorites excellently prepared using fresh ingredients. This is a fancy restaurant but it is not stuffy, it is a place to have fun with friends and enjoy some great French food.

Yelp
I have found my new best French restaurant in Berlin! Run by French and with the "habitués du quartier". Worth a visit even just to feel the wonderful atmosphere and see the amazing decoration! Oh. And food is great!

Alan D.

Yelp
Having read good reviews about the place, we decided to splash out on a treat, a treat it WAS NOT. The words to describe the experience are overpriced mainstream average quality food. There are many other, cheaper options to enjoy in Berlin with better food. Another French style restaurant that is much better value than Paris Bar is Franke Brasserie, the food at Franke easily competes with Paris and you don't need a mortgage to eat there. Once element was the classic feel of the place, as soon as you enter you realise its popular for the wealthy. But there is no value for money. There is nothing worse than disappointment when you expect something special.

Yelp
Great food and a special flair location. Attentive waiter. We had a great time. NOTE Seating. Is very closely to the next table. Parisienne style. And menu leaves little vegetarian options.

Yelp
Quite a find in Charlottenburg. This is a cozy little place, decorated in an eclectic fashion. The food was great (lamb chops and entrecôte) and the service friendly and attentive. I can't understand any negative reviews...

Yelp
We almost missed it while walking on Kantstrasse, and if we had missed it we would been deprived of an outstanding dinner. In late May every restaurant in Germany is serving white asparagus that needs to be expertly prepared lest it become mushy and watery. Paris-bar does it right, but that is only a side-dish. It's the main dishes that really pleased us most: the entrecôte with Bearnaise sauce, the roast sal on with hollandaise sauce, and the crisp French fries. All were just delicious and served with attentiveness and efficiency. A top choice in the Charlottenberg/KuDamm area.

Yelp
At one time Paris Bar was a center for the artworld, before the wall came down and everything moved east. The walls are still filled with artworks by various artists, notably a gigantic canvas by Martin Kippenberger depicting the very wall on which it is hung. The staff no longer seems to know very much about the art, but maybe I had a new employee. The food is fairly classic French bistro with some German touches, and can be very good, although not inspired.
