The 6 Best Hostels in Cusco (Updated 2025)

"This Cusco location is an institution and part of a small Peruvian-owned chain; the staff are amazing and organize lots of social events that make it easy to meet people. In the dorms there are individual reading lights and outlets by each bed (no privacy curtains), plus lockers with outlets so you can safely charge electronics while you're out; the showers have hot water though they can sometimes take a little time to warm up, and there's free tea available 24/7 (including coca tea)." - Matthew Kepnes

Pariwana Cusco is a lovely hostel with big, comfortable beds. The property is clean, and the en-suite rooms have multiple bathrooms, which makes things very convenient. A nice touch is the free hot tea available throughout the day. A few downsides: it’s one of the few hostels that doesn’t include breakfast in the rate, and there are multiple common areas, which made it a bit harder to connect with other travelers. Cusco overall felt quite transitional during my stay, with most people either on their way to or returning from Machu Picchu.

Excellent place to stay in Cusco. Reception was really great and reservations team helped us sort through our stay with ease. Lots of great people here too, with a lot to do every day. Highly recommend Pariwana!!

Great hostel with a fun, social vibe. The bar and activities make it easy to meet other travelers, and the crowd is mostly young and lively. Staff were friendly — shoutout to Rubi and Carmen for being especially helpful. Solid place to stay if you want good energy and a good time.

Fantastic location, social vibes, great facilities, and super friendly staff. For example: they have great activities like ceviche classes! Shoutout to Natalia and others for their hospitality (also love that reception is 24/7).

Pariwana is an amazing hostel for travellers, and any visitors of Cusco. Comfortable rooms, fun activities and fantastic service. Rubi took great care of us, from checking us in at 5am, to meeting all our needs for the week we stayed there. She made sure our bags were safe when we left to Machu Picchu and always knew the answers to our questions. A truly great experience, most of it thanks to Rubi!! If you’re in Cusco I’d highly recommend staying at Pariwana. Amazing location, good price, you won’t regret it.

Great hostel in a great location, lots of fun activities on throughout the week and really easy to book activities such as Rainbow Mountain. All staff were super friendly, but a special mention to Natalia and Edson for going the extra mile! Would defo stay again

A good hostel in a great location. Clean and nice atmosphere. Only thing was when we dropped off our laundry the night before and was supposed to be ready in the afternoon the next day, it wasn’t ready till 8.30pm so would need to be careful if needing to catch a night bus.

We really enjoyed our stay at this hostel! We booked a private room for three, which was spacious and relatively clean, though the sheets were a bit stained. The hostel felt safe and welcoming, with plenty of organized events and activities for guests to join. Unfortunately, we weren’t able to take part as many trips in Cusco start very early in the morning. Overall, a great place to stay – safe, social, and comfortable. We’d highly recommend it.
