This cozy coffeehouse offers a delightful array of drinks and the beloved local specialty—gooey butter cake—in enticing flavors like red velvet and turtle.
Another day in November place to find coffee at. Whenever I am in the area and looking for places that has coffee, this place comes out but I never even tried to go to. So this day was a day that I actually end up trying it and honestly it was good staff they are nice and they are greeting and they are welcoming. Looks like they have a lot of variety of sweets muffins and gooey butter cake with a couple of kinds of the gooey butter cake, honestly o didn’t look to see what we they had. And of course I had to get my coffee. They said they had dark and medium roast, sadly I went for the medium and regret it. Too light in flavor and just doesn’t do any good “that’s my opinion” but what made this trip better was their gooey butter cake and I picked the turtle gooey butter cake. That was so good and you get the sweetness, the crunch and the feeling of it melting in your mouth just what I needed to forget about that coffee.
I would go again to try the dark roast and the checkout other items.

Cappuccino was subpar, and butter cake was extremely sweet. The joint had a handfulof endorsements from Food Network and other food shows but I the poorly frothed cappuccino is a loss for me. Not a bad coffee place, but I wouldn't go out of my way for it again.

Great coffee—especially in an area with not a lot of options. Lovely baked goods but limited selection of savory options for non-meat eaters. Helpful staff.

What a great local spot! Brown sugar lavender latte with oat milk was delicious and well balanced, and the traditional butter cake was the Midwestern treat that was missing from my life until now. Friendly, fast baristas and a warm cozy atmosphere, reasonable prices.

I’ve never heard of Gooey Butter Cake until I was in STL. I came to check it out, and it was definitely not a disappointment. It looks dense, but it isn’t when you bite into it. The only thing is, I kind of wish the powdered sugar can be an optional piece when someone orders it. The original GBC is definitely a winner, I have yet to try the other flavors.
