"Draft Beer, Music, and a Great Location Serving draft Hofbräu beer, the Park Cafe is a popular spot with locals. Choose from the ever-popular beer garden, or go inside and listen to one of Munich 's top DJs or live concerts. The location is also great, just a 5-minute walk from the Hauptbahnhof (main train station)."

Generous servings! Very hip and trendy menu. A tad surprised about the Ludwig burger — hash brown (?) and luncheon meat — hmmm. 😅 anyway, it was a fun experience especially that the basket of condiments was quite giving.

Nice atmosphere, a lot of food to choose from. We didn’t have to wait long on our food. There could only be a bit more chili on the patato, the proportions where a bit off. But overall we liked it!

Google
Amazing place very cool experience, it's called a café yet it's a restaurant, I know it's weird. The coffee they have tho is one of the best coffees , very smooth and tasty, no bitterness at all

Uncomplicated place with a lively atmosphere by the park. Tasty Bavarian beer with typical German dishes. Typical Biergarten seating to enjoy a sunny day.

I am downtown Munich on my last night feeling hungry and thirsty. I decide to go to the park café, which is close to Altstadt (old town) Just when I think I know a lot about beer, I learned something new. A patron behind me gets a glass that has a very small amount of beer at the bottom and the rest is all foam . Of course I am curious so I asked the bartender who is from Tanzania about the peculiar beer? He explains that it’s quite popular here in Munich and Germany and that people order it at the end of the night before they’re going home because it has less CO2 in it. I had to try one and found it rather flat, but I was very impressed with this establishment and the level of quality beers and food and the atmosphere was phenomenal and so were the employees that work there

We had a wonderful experience during mothers day. However, the Sunday brunches are absolutely spectacular. Great food offer with very good quality and very fairly priced. Highly recommend it as a spot to spend a Sunday morning which are usually on the quieter side in Munich

The food was a little bit salty for my taste. The ambience was nice and casual. Service was not that great, though. The main bar looks quite interesting. It was a very busy place, and quite noisy, too.

Visited with a few respectful friends a while ago when visiting the city and thought it'd be a nice place for food and a beer. Sadly it wasn't. Looks nice, that's it. I would recommend avoiding this place at all cost. The place was somewhat busy, not too bad, and when approaching the bar counter to place a simple order, we were told in a rude tone essentially that the waiters would take orders from the tables only. We had a seat at a table, waited for about 25 min and nothing happened. Finally after waiting some more, we got our food, which unfortunately tasted quite bland and looked plain. Having finished our food and beers regardless, we waited and actively looked for a waiter from the table, which again didn't work out, no one to bring the bill. Running out of time, we paid at the counter, surprisingly allowed, and split the bill in two. A friend went to pay their part first, card payment was ok, all done. After they returned, I went to pay, and to my surprise, "cash only", card payments weren't possible according to the same bartender, even though I hadn't even spoken to him before, simply placed an order with a different waiter. No explanations, cash only, despite a friend paying with a card 2 minutes earlier. Strange, I'd say. Overall, save your positive mindset and energy and go somewhere else where things work and where you don't have to wait for 30 min at a time for something to happen.

Yelp
We had lunch here during the winter season. So things a bit slow and not a beer hall atmosphere. We had two salads, one was great, one not so much. The winter salad was excellent; smoked tofu cubes, beets and more. The salad featuring avocado not to our taste-- dressing was too heavy and not tasty. Beer and a Coke Zero in a reusable bottle finished our order. Beer was the dunkel variety - to each their own. Service was good.

Yelp
Fantastic food and service. A hidden gem we stumbled upon. Definitely a keeper Highly recommend!

Yelp
Rude service and worse food. Avoid this place! The self service runs out of food. The service area lies about not having space. Finally get food and it's some of the worst in Munich.

Yelp
Came for breakfast right after opening. The huge indoor space was empty except one other table. Our's was a party of three and the waiter showed us to a table right next to the open kitchen entrance. Asked to be seated elsewhere, and we were relegated to a table in a corner next to the floor mop. Waiter couldnt care less. Again, the restaurant was totally empty. We then got a disappointing breakfast menu, very small, with odd items. Toast Benedict with vegan salmon made from carrots! I'm all for veg or vegan food but please! We left.

Yelp
If you get Konstantine as your server, RUN! He didn't know anything about the beers, didn't check on us (with only 3 tables), and forgot everything we requested. First issue was the fries. They came out cold and I asked if he could just grab me some fresh ones, didn't get any until it was time to pay. Ordered a 2 euro pretzel appetizer and we asked if it came with beer cheese and he said yes but when we paid, the total was 9.8 euro (a completely different order) and failed to tell us there was that much of an upcharge for cheese... CHEESE! When we asked him about the upcharge, he said, "but after all, you do come from America." Essentially calling us idiots. I think that has to be racist. I guess if you're American, you should stay away from Park Cafe. We asked to speak to a manager and the manager looked at us and walked away.

Yelp
We enjoyed the bier garden atmosphere. Waiter was friendly. Beer was chilled and yummy. Prices reasonable. Tried the cheese noodles and it was enough for 2.

Yelp
This is a lively beer garden located near The Charles Hotel in Munich. I prefer this option to the beer garden located in Marienplatz. Park Cafe is slightly less touristy and still full of locals enjoying some beers after work. You can order a half litre of full litre of beer. I ended up sharing 1.5 litres of beer with my husband and it was just right. The food is displayed behind glass and you can point out what you would like to eat. They will place each item on plates and charge by the plate. The pizza was terrible, but I`m not sure why I ordered pizza in Munich anyway. The potato salad was tangy and a great compliment to the beer. The sausage and sauerkraut were the best items of course. However, I think I overdosed on the sauerkraut because I had a huge stomach ache that night.

Yelp
Reasonably priced, Quality food, not fancy, great outdoor atmosphere because restaurant is close to park. 8 min walk from Munch central train station There is full menu for restaurant dining or cafeteria-style ordering at the grill. Staff was friendly.

Yelp
A very disappointing brunch , way below the standards of what the place used to be! Fried eggs , came cold and slightly dried out. The only slightly saving grace was the fried bacon, which added some (salty , porky) flavor to the lack luster eggs. Avocado with hummus : avocado is an awesome fruit . But I think they brutally murdered it with dropping ladle full of crushed and unseasoned garbanzos. Miles and miles away from the delicious Hummus one usually knows! Finally the freshly made Belgium waffles ...... were neither sugary nor savory .... and fast away from being fresh or homemade. They came cold and tasted dry and gummy. The apple mouse that came as a condiment with it didn't help in making it more flavorful either. All in all a very disappointing breakfast which will be keeping me away from returning to this place ever again.

Yelp
Lots of options for vegetarian. Good vibes large portions. Def. Try the veggie burger if you're looking for a vegetarian option.

Yelp
Unprofessional and rude! How quick-witted must a waiter be? That was the question last night in the almost full restaurant. (Authors note: it is generally everything but crowded but yesterday, due to some group events that had to take place inside because of the rain). We asked at a half full table if we may join. They welcomed me and my friend to the table, when a most rude waiter came running and yelled at us that we are not allowed to sit down! His tone! Unbelievable!!!! I asked for the Manager and he was telling me we cannot sit there because the rest of the table was to be paid by one party and the waiter would not be able to separate the two bills. Really? Plus, the Manager was completly unprofessional and everthing else but apologetic for his staff, nor did he offer another seating option. We left. Food is not good anyway and the location noisy.

Yelp
It is a very nice place. It looked very pretty. After my first try of German food what I didn't liked. Did I gave it another change. So I ordered a schnitzel and this one was way better than in another restaurant. I got cranberry sauce with it. And it was super good. There was also a jazz band playing.

Yelp
In typical Munich fashion this is a big beer house and garden. Went to see the Champions cup finals and it was packed with people and had loads of screens all around set up really well to see the game. The place itself is nothing to write home about and in my opinion does not possess the charm and ambience of other places around the city. The service was a bit slow and the food was only ok. Maybe it was the wrong night to go here considering it was jam packed with people and they did not seem to have enough staff to cope with the crowds. I may come back here another time but don't feel the need to rush back :-)

Yelp
I really like this place. Very inconspicuous on the outside, fashionably decorated on the inside. The prices are about par for other bars in the are, except come 10pm and happy hour starts (again). I have not tried the food there, but I can say, that if it tastes as good as it looks and tastes I would give this place 4 stars.
google avatar

Lin S.

Yelp
Had lunch there and ordered schnitzel. The food is decent but a bit pricy. The service is ok. One annoying aspect was there were a couple of smokers there blowing the smoke directly to our faces. It was unpleasant and the servers didn't offer us any alternative seats. We eventually moved ourselves.

Yelp
We sat in the space and waited for service , since it did not come we went to the bar to order. After a while a server cane out of nowhere and told us in a loud voice that it was his service area and if we did not order from him he makes NO $$$ so we needed to leave I was going to leave but decided to go to the bar and have a drink I met Sarot and he turned around my night!

Yelp
The food was terrible and service was poor. The waiter even got mad when I asked to be served. At the END of my meal, he informed me they don't accept credit cards for bills under 20 euros. He told me I had to pay 20 euros and I could not leave him my Visa card or passport while I went to get cash because it would "take too long". A woman next to me had to pay for me. I am very upset at how I was treated here. Terrible experience. Don't waste your money here.

Yelp
Great time on our way home from Oktoberfest! Sat at the bar and the staff was accommodating and friendly! Prost

Yelp
Great place to go for a few drinks! Sat at the bar three nights in a row while visiting Munich and the bartenders were really friendly and accommodating! Food was average pub style food. Would definitely visit this place again!

Yelp
Waited in their beer garden first for very long time for the weiter, and after 50 minutes hadnt gotten our drinks and left. Meanwhile weiter had served drinks to people who came after us. Cannot recommend.

Yelp
Park Cafe is the place for groups. This place is huge, both indoors and outdoors. The interior is literally grand with its big chandelier, big bar, DJ stand above the big bar, wide tables, etc. They are restaurant-beer garden by day and bar-dance club by night. The service there seems dependent on the server. We had good ones and bad ones. The food was on par. I had the Salat Eustachius (beef and mushroom salad), and I was content with it. The drinks were meh. Their homemade ginger lemonade was like 20% lemon and 80% ginger and was not-so-refreshing to drink. My friends asked the server about the available scotch, and the server couldn't answer us and said to go to the bar and ask. But their daily happy hour special (after 10 PM) is a good bargain.

Yelp
Enjoyed a Flammkuchen with a couple of Radlers here last night amongst colleagues, out on the town for our monthly Stammtisch. The Radlers didn't seem to have much beer in them (and I'm usually considered a lightweight) but our service was prompt, our food prepared swiftly, and everything tasted good. I sprung for the Kaiserschmarrn for dessert, and not only did the "klein" portion fill me up completely, it satisfied the curiosity of some long-forked thieves on either side of me. Our party kept mysteriously expanding (where did all those people come from?) and still there was room to spread out. It was crowded by about 7 pm, but the acoustics & lighting kept our event feeling intimate despite the sea of strangers in the room. Generally a very pleasant experience overall, and as a few have mentioned a good spot to find a big table if you're with a group. I'll be back in the Springtime for sure - I want to check out the outdoor space.

Yelp
Our last day in Munich - had lunch at the Park Cafe where the gentleman taking care of us was so warm and welcoming (great sense of humor, too) and the food matched the service; very good experience and happy we stumbled upon this location.

Yelp
From reviews on Tripadvisor it sounds like they have a bit of a scam cheating tourists. There are many nice beer gardens in Munich, please choose another! We ordered off the english menu and made sure to point as we ordered to be clear. The abhorrent service came when we received the bill. It seemed high so we asked to see the paper copy (PLEASE CHECK YOUR BILL, they don't automatically bring you a copy, just a total due which is a bit dodgy!). We had been charged for water when we had asked for tap water, though admittedly it was carbonated when it arrived which made us think we might be charged for it but we didn't think to send it back. The reason for this review was the side salad was coming up as 8 euros. When we asked to see the menu to confirm the price of the side salad we realized they had given us the mixed salad which was immediately above it on the menu. We explained to Florence, our waitress, that we had ordered the side salad and not the mixed salad, she admitted that she had made a mistake but refused to change the bill to correct this. She explained that because we had eaten the mixed salad and not said anything that we had to pay for it. To be clear, this was a nondescript medium sized salad containing lettuce, a few slices of tomato and cucumber and some shredded carrot, hardly an 8 euro mixed salad so we assumed it was the side salad we had ordered that had been brought to our table. When I pushed a little harder for the bill to be changed Florence went to ask the chef about correcting our bill and when she returned we were told that he had refused. At this point I was not having it anymore and asked Florence to bring the manager. When Joachim, the chef/manager came to our table he was adamant that because we had eaten the incorrect salad that we must pay for it. I explained clearly that it was our first time to the restaurant and that we had no way of telling that the salad was not the side salad I had ordered. I referred to the menu where the side salad was listed next to the mixed salad with neither containing any description. He still would not change the bill. I then asked, semi jokingly "what will happen if we only pay for what we ordered, what are you going to do, call the police?" and he replied that he would! So we called his bluff because we were in the right. He then spoke to Florence in German and the next thing he said was what that the bill would be corrected. By this point I was shaking with anger and frustration. We paid the bill quickly and walked out feeling shamed for asking for what was correct and right. This experience left what would have been a nice family meal totally ruined. *still ended up paying for the 4 euro water we hadn't ordered because the fight just wasn't worth it.

Yelp
nice place! This is a local place, with almost no tourists! Not cheap but they have an "happy hour" on various cocktails at 22:00 (10p.m). There are live performances! But beyond that, the music is not good. Good service. tasty food. Burger with Bacon and Cheese is highly recommended. We were with friends and we all enjoyed !. (You better check the bill just to be sure because some people say they have mistakes in the bills, tho we didn't have any and it was exactly what we ordered)

Yelp
This was a stop for the SIZE MATTERS tour! It was nice and service was good. They have HB beer and it's delicious. This was our last stop before heading home and it didn't disappoint.

Yelp
Great, affordable beer garden! Went in July and the park/scene was perfect. I wish we had these kinds of places in the US.

Yelp
Great unpretentious bar & restaurant off the beaten tourist path. Nothing fancy but doesn't try to be. Good food and Hofbrau.

Yelp
We were a group of about 16 people and we came for the Sunday brunch. We arrived within the posted time for brunch but when we arrived there was practically no hot food left in the containers. We assumed they would be replenishing and started with some cold food. After a while we asked about the hot food and we were told they would be out with more soon. NO food was EVER replenished and when we asked about it one waitress was aggressively rude to two of our party. One of us complained to the other server and asked for management. We never saw management and had to pay full price for the cold food only. Overall it was a HORRIBLE experience. Definitely avoid the brunch - especially if you can't get there before 12 noon.

Yelp
Park Cafe is a great place, very central with good World Cuisine food. We really enjoy the atmosphere to follow the World Cup matches! The Biergarten is pleasant in a very nice setting. The restaurant/lounge inside boasts good food and a nice atmosphere.

Sari L.

Yelp
The food was great and the service indoors excellent. After spending 100 euro for 4 of us we took our drinks outside to drink and free up our tables which had reservations not long after. Outdoors they had games (European equivalent of Australian lawn bowls) going on. Three out of 4 lanes were free. So we decided to give it a go. Then a security person came up to us ranting in German with a very rude tone. I told him we spoke English not German. He rudely told us we didn't have a reservation and to stop playing, and started removing the pieces we were using. After the way we were spoken to I would be very reluctant to return there.

Yelp
Fun beer garden near the main train station (and our hotel). In a beautiful park, seemed to have less tourists than the other one we checked in on in Munich. Good food, surly service from some, but it worked out.
