Park Hotel Post Freiburg - Kultur und Literatur am Colombipark

The hotel is in a great location. The staff was very friendly and helpful. It's close to the train station, a few grocery stores, shopping, restaurants and pubs. It's next to park which is a nice change for the area. There is an elevator big enough to get your luggage up to your room. An umbrella is there at the front desk for your use for a 10-euro deposit. I guess the deposit is necessary because other people failed to bring it back. You know who you are! Each room had a theme involving an author that had previously stayed in that room. The beds were comfortable and typical for Europe. The bathroom was big enough and had plenty of shelf space. There were an adequate number of electrical outlets available just make sure to bring your European plug travel adapter (Germany, Austria and the Czech Republic use the same adapter). The shower was made for skinny people, but we made do. We didn't take advantage of the breakfast buffet but the pictures of it looked nice.

Really lovely hotel close to the train station. Also some small well stocked supermarkets nearby too. Friendly staff throughout the hotel. ||Breakfast was good but not a huge choice. ||Only downsides - no coffee or tea making in the room which was disappointing. Pillows so so soft!||Great to have fruit available to take for free every day near the Reception.||Great location for exploring the town. |I would recommend this hotel. We had a great room with a little balcony overlooking the park.

Had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The ambience is wonderful with books around and each room featuring an author. The rooms and bathrooms were neat and clean. Bed linens are excellent. The staff is excellent, very friendly and helpful. I asked for a kettle and the staff offered to bring it to the room along with cups etc. The location is very convenient, walking distance to the old town and train station. They have a garage in the basement and would recommend reserving in advance. Would highly recommend this place

Had a lovely stay there. Rooms were cozy, but very nice. I loved the literary theme for the hotel. Service was excellent. And can't beat the location - a very short walk from the main train station, and minutes away from the old town. Will stay here again next time I'm in Freiburg.

A beautiful building close to the main railway station and a short walk from the main shopping area and the Old Town. A warm welcome from the 24 hour reception, lift to the upper floors, all spotlessly clean. Our room was so nice with a small balcony overlooking an interesting park. The bed was very comfortable, shower excellent. Breakfast was good, excellent buffet selection. This will be our "home from home" for our annual visits to Freiburg.||Freiburg is such a beautiful, interesting city, the comprehensive tram system means the centre of the city is basically car free. The main square around the stunning cathedral hosts a large market 6 days a week. Freiburg has a large number of excellent restaurants. One of our favourite places for a great holiday.

Lovely hotel, we had room 119 which had the bonus of a balcony, as far as we could see it was the only room with a garden view with a balcony. It was lovely sitting in the sun with a drink Reception staff very friendly and efficient, breakfast was a little bit lacking compared to other four star hotels, but still good, the room is small however and the servers were run off their feet. Would definitely stay again.

Beautiful hotel in the center of Freiburg. My wife and I stayed for three days and were supremely charmed with the room and the staff. I must give a special call out to the man who works in the garage (whose name I do not recall) who assisted us with the parking in a very tiny space, and made two uneasy Americans feel very much welcome. The hotel is close to the city center, and the hiking trails of the Schlossberg hill. Our room came with a balcony looking over the Colombipark and the vineyards. There is nothing better than sipping good beer and watching the buzz of the city after a full day of hiking and exploring. Also, they offer books of various subject matter free for visitors to read. Just pull one out of a stack, read to your content, and place it back. NOTE: Freiburg is a university city, and stresses bike and pedestrian travel highly. Be VERY careful when driving around, since cars do not have the right of way in any scenario.

Really clean and interesting hotel 2 blocks from the train station. Comfortable, good showers, friendly staff. We rented e-bikes from them at $15 a day, used Bikemap app for a 15k ride out into the countryside and back. Central to everything.
