Park Hyatt Guangzhou

We stayed at the Park Hyatt Guangzhou Tianhe for one week as a couple and genuinely enjoyed every moment of our stay. The hotel felt very calm, elegant and extremely comfortable. The views from the rooms and public areas are stunning.||||Breakfast was a real highlight for us. Excellent buffet with a wide selection, high-quality ingredients, and a relaxed atmosphere.||||We also loved the location. The hotel is perfectly situated within walking distance of several major shopping malls and many great restaurants.||||The service was attentive and professional, warm and welcoming. Special thanks to General Manager Jakob for high great hospitality and attention to detail. Highly recommended.

This was our first stay at a Park Hyatt, having previously and regularly stayed at hotels such as the Four Seasons and St. Regis, so our expectations were understandably high. We were staying using a Guest of Honour award from a friend, which further set the expectation of attentive service and a polished experience. The location of Park Hyatt Guangzhou is excellent, and the hotel presents itself as modern and elegant. However, several aspects of the stay fell short of what we would expect from a luxury brand at this level. At check-in, I noticed a Western couple patiently waiting in line at the front desk, only for another guest to walk straight up and be served ahead of them. Unfortunately, the front desk staff did not intervene, and the Western couple subsequently complained. The situation could have been handled more professionally by politely asking the guest who pushed in to wait their turn, and serving the couple who had been waiting first. This lack of basic queue management was disappointing, particularly given the hotel’s luxury positioning. Room and floor cleanliness were another concern. Upon exiting the lift on our floor for the first time, the carpeted hallway was noticeably unclean. When we entered our room, we found glass shards on the floor, which were both alarming and unacceptable. After informing the room attendant, the glass was simply swept toward the doorway rather than properly removed, which did not adequately resolve the issue or provide reassurance around safety. On a more positive note, the breakfast buffet was decent, with a reasonable variety and acceptable quality, though it did not particularly stand out compared to similar offerings at other luxury hotels. Overall, while Park Hyatt Guangzhou has potential and a strong location, the service standards and attention to cleanliness did not match our previous experiences at comparable hotels. With better staff training and improved housekeeping oversight, the hotel could better reflect the expectations associated with the Park Hyatt brand.

We chose Park Hyatt, an iconic landmark in Guangzhou, to celebrate my birthday. The hotel lobby on Level 65 offers a spectacular view of Canton Tower and surrounding skyscrapers. Room:We were upgraded to a room that offered a beautiful view of the river and magnificent sunsets. The room was clean, spacious, decorated in earthy wood tones, with a walk-in closet, 3 seater sofa, dining table, TV with international programs. The hotel also decorated the room with birthday decor. The bed was comfortable We liked the separate toilet with it's own sink from the bathroom with its double sink. However, the design of the shower room floor with exposed surrounding drainage was rather unappealing.Food:The complimentary birthday cake was delicious. We also had the opportunity to dine in their Chinese restaurant, Yue Jing Xuan, and their food and service was excellent.Service:We had a few issues on service on our first day. These were quickly addressed and resolved with sincerity and initiative when we informed the front desk, with special thanks to Mr Zone Li, Ms Zero Lin and Ms Joy Hu. We were also compensated generously and we deeply appreciated their service recovery.

Of all the Hyatt properties I’ve visited, the Park Hyatt Guangzhou stands out as a masterclass in systemic failure. Staying here is an expensive lesson in frustration from start to finish. My ordeal began at the Chinese restaurant. Despite placing an early order for my dinner, the service was glacially slow. Simply getting a server’s attention was a Herculean task; I had to wave and call out for ages before anyone would even make eye contact. The food took forever, turning what should have been a pleasant meal into a test of patience. The low point came when a server knocked over and spilled my drink. The most infuriating part wasn't the accident itself, but the reaction: there was no apology. None. When I asked for a replacement bottle, the server initially refused and argued before reluctantly bringing a new one. The lack of basic accountability was staggering. Later, the restaurant manager offered a hollow "gesture of apology": a box of snacks I was to collect at checkout. Well, checkout arrived, and the receptionist had no idea what I was talking about. As I tried to explain the situation, the General Manager of the hotel was standing right there, in plain view. When I asked to speak with him, the receptionist began to hem and haw, looking nervously between us, likely assuming I couldn't understand English and trying to shield him. It was a blatant and insulting display of avoidance. After much insistence, the mythical "apology box" finally materialized. And in a final, perfect touch of ignominy, the contents had spilled all over the inside of the paper bag. It was messy, careless, and added insult to injury. This isn't just about one spilled drink or a slow meal. It's about a culture of apathy, where staff are untrained, unaccountable, and management is physically present yet completely inaccessible. Save your money. This hotel's one-star rating is generous. A truly abysmal experience.

Special thanks to Concierge Mr. Watsons for solving a delivery issue, Mr. Andy for impeccable breakfast coordination, and Ms. Zero for expert front desk guidance. Their proactive, personalized care made our stay flawless. A true standard in hospitality.

Good service and convenient location. Hotel was very nice with a nice view of Canton Towel at the Roof Top bar. Just one thing to improve, Coffee in the breakfast buffet could be better. Not hot at all, just lukewarm.

I had an overall pleasant stay, but the hotel falls well short of the standards associated with the Park Hyatt brand, which is why I’ve given a 3-star rating. On the positive side, the rooms are spacious, offer great views, and housekeeping is excellent. However, the beds and pillows weren't great and definitely worse than Four Seasons, MO and other Park Hyatt's I've stayed at. The most significant letdown was the service. Unfortunately, the staff’s English was abysmal, making communication difficult and awkward during nearly every interaction. Service felt largely reactive rather than proactive, and there was a general lack of the warm, attentive hospitality one would expect from a luxury property. It’s disappointing because the hotel itself is architecturally beautiful and has great potential. That said, I’m unlikely to return.

Beautiful hotel in a great location, however the service was very poor considering the reputation and cost of this hotel. We registered early at 1pm with our passports, and the service girl took more than 30minutes to process. Then was told to return at 3pm (standard time) for our keys. When we returned at 3pm, waited another 15minutes before being told my friends room wasn't ready yet. They waited more than 1 hour for a room to be ready. The only excuse was that it was busy. Unnaceptable service for this kind of hotel. Wouldn't reccomend booking at the Park Hyatt with the current staff. Dissapointing.
