"The Park Hyatt Melbourne claims the city’s largest rooms and suites. Your first indication: the soaring, two-story atrium lobby. At nearly 2,600 square feet, the Presidential Suite reaches near McMansion territory, comprising a marble entryway and rooms galore, including a double king bedroom, formal living and dining rooms, and a sprawling bathroom with custom-built oversize spa bath. But at more than 500 square feet, even the smallest accommodations are amply sized. They’re also sumptuously furnished with handsome madrone-wood paneling and tall leather headboards. Such amenities as Nespresso coffee machines and Bose Bluetooth speakers make any modern nomad feel right at home, but the health club and spa offers private coaching and tennis lessons, reminding you to stay in vacation-mode, and services ranging from secretarial staff to babysitters cater to both the business traveler andfamilies on holiday."

"Ever so slightly set back from the bustle of the CDB grid and surrounded by manicured parks and the Fitzroy Gardens, Park Hyatt Melbourne feels like a luxurious oasis while remaining a stone's throw from the action. With 245 rooms and suites, the hotel also offers outdoor dining at its Trilogy Gardens, a stunning mosaic-decorated 27.3-yard swimming pool, day spa, gym and tennis court." - Travel + Leisure Editors

Park Hyatt Melbourne - Hotel Review | Condé Nast Traveler

"First impressions? The smaller of Melbourne's two inner-city Hyatts also boasts more serene surrounds (it does, indeed, abut a park) and more generous guest rooms, plus the brand's usual upmarket touches. What’s the crowd like? Business travelers, Hyatt loyalists from overseas. Tell us about the rooms. The standard guest room is a cavernous 48 square meters (517 square feet)—purportedly the city's largest entry-level room—and is as well-appointed as many suites elsewhere. Marble bathtubs, Le Labo toiletries, and walk-in closets create a sense of indulgence that's rare in Australian hotels. How about the little things, like Wi-Fi? Unlike some big-chain hotels in Australia, the Park Hyatt's Wi-Fi is free. Club Rooms on the higher levels command impressive views and come with access to the Club Lounge. Feeling celebratory? Book the Presidential Suite and luxuriate in the all-marble bathroom, which alone is larger than most guest rooms. Room service and food: Worth it? Radii is the hotel's sole restaurant, while The Lounge and Garden offers light-lunch fare and high teas. The cold breakfast buffet at Radii is a decadent—and consequently expensive—experience. Room service is 24 hours, but there's also a well-stocked minibar, and tea-and-coffee-making facilities in-room. Anything esle stand out? The health club and spa are surprisingly little used, probably because most guests are here on business. Check out the heated indoor pool and steam room, then surrender to the spa's signature coconut body treatment. Bottom line. The hotel's opulent facilities and enormous rooms are a world unto themselves, but downtown Melbourne is just across the park." - Dan F. Stapleton

Park Hyatt Melbourne (Melbourne, Victoria) 5 Hotel Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Like the city it calls home, the Park Hyatt Melbourne is unpretentiously grand, almost shy of attention. Located in one of the city’s most scenic historic districts, at the top of Collins Street, overlooking St. Patrick’s Cathedral and the surrounding Victorian rooftops, this hotel has all the makings of a Melbourne landmark; and yet many locals don’t seem to know it’s there." - Tablet Hotels

Beautiful, classic hotel with excellent food and facilities. The staff are great. The decor reminded me of 90s New York with lots of dark marble, wood panelling, and lamps. I hope they never try to ‘update’ it as it’s what makes the hotel feel completely different to others in the same category, and personally I love the Wall Street vibe. The rooms are stunning and spacious with comfortable beds. Breakfast was fabulous and the spa was beautiful. Definitely coming back!

We always love staying at the Park Hyatt. We stayed here the weekend we got engaged, over our wedding, and a lot of other holidays and special moments. It never disappoints. I find the room extremely spacious, functional and luxurious (especially the bathrooms). The location is perfect because it is not directly in the CBD which can be busy and loud, not to mention the stunning church next door. We love ordering food to the room because it is always spot on!

Google
stayed at the Park Hyatt Melbourne for 9 nights, and every moment was simply exceptional. The hotel is perfectly located close to the city center while still offering peace, privacy and beautiful views. The property itself is elegant, quiet, and immaculately maintained. The room was spacious, tastefully decorated, and extremely comfortable. Housekeeping was flawless throughout the stay. The breakfast experience was a true highlight: fresh juices, quality pastries, seasonal fruits, and a refined service every morning. It was a real pleasure to start each day in such a setting. Above all, the staff made the difference every team member we met was warm, helpful, and incredibly professional. From the front desk to housekeeping and restaurant service, everyone contributed to making our stay perfect. We felt truly welcomed and cared for at every step. Highly recommended for anyone looking for an elegant and peaceful experience in Melbourne. We’ll definitely come back.

Google
Fantastic location, situated off the street so it's quiet, away from city noises but so incredibly close to everything in the city. Comfortable rooms, great views, lovely staff, and a beautiful dog named Charlie. Truly feels like home! We also love the art deco style of the hotel. Would recommend.

This is a very lavish property, ideally situated for attending events at the MCG. Rooms are quiet, large and well appointed with lovely le labo toiletries. All meals from breakfast to room service lunch/dinner were excellent. ||Unfortunately during our stay our son took unwell at breakfast and I cannot praise duty manager Darren highly enough for his care, diligence and discrete attentions. Hyatt group are very fortunate to have such outstanding staff members. Thanks Darren.

Google
The Park Hyatt Hotel is located behind Parliament station. It's got a driveway which sets it back from the main road. Due to this is it very quiet with no traffic driving by. The rooms are a good size. There is plenty of space around the bed. A small table and a couple of seats. The bathroom is a good size and stocked with everything you need. There is also a walk in robe to store all your luggage and baggage. The breakfast was fantastic. They accommodated our dietary requirments with ease. A note about parking: There is valet parking for $80 a day on site. There is also a Wilson parking lot a 50m walk from the front door which is about $30 a day. The staff at the hotel will make you believe the Wilson is not much cheaper than the Hyatt parking, this is not the case. Overall we enjoyed our stay greatly.

Google
We had a great stay. Standard rooms are very spacious (48 sq m) and well-appointed - comfy King bed, separate seating area, large bathtub, shower with very powerful water pressure. Housekeeping was very responsive when we needed items. All the staff were friendly. Gym is OK. Pool and hot tub are very nice and (at least during our stay) super quiet. Location is at the eastern edge of the CBD, so not quite in the thick of things but still very walkable.

Google
The hotel is well situated and convenient to the center. Our room is well presented. The hotel has two bars and we were told they were both only opened Thursday to Saturday and resorted to sitting in the lobby bar on a sofa with little to no atmosphere. We decided to go to our room to order a glass/bottle of wine via room service and were told that room service was closed at midnight. Not at all what ai would expect from a top hotel in the city centre. Not worth the money.

Yelp
If you are visiting Melbourne and taking in the fantastic theatre offerings -- Princess Theatre, Her Majesty's Theatre, and so on -- look no further. This hotel is beautiful, the bed is comfy, and the service is exceptional. Besides the proximity to the theatre district, there's Collins Street for high-end shopping, beautiful parks, and incredible food offerings right on your doorstop. This is by far my favorite spot to stay when visiting Melbourne. Plus, Mr. Walker is here. A hotel with its own canine mascot really cannot be beat, can it? He is literally the most chill dog I have ever met. Love him. Cannot wait to come back next month. Mary Poppins here we come!

Yelp
The room was nice, the people at the front desk were helpful and friendly. The poor service, poor food, and the condescending little man in the ill fitting suit, at the "Tea Room" restaurant was off putting enough to not ever return to this place. We had traveled 12 hours, endured two flights, and delays before arriving and just wanted to eat and go to bed. Four couples were in the place but over 35 minutes for a hamburger and a salad. It may be because we hadn't showered and changed into our night life attire.....I say that because we saw one woman sit down by herself who, also, looked like she was quite tired and no one ever approached or served her and after twenty minutes she finally left. That seems to emanate from this little fellow to the staff. I would wager, that the staff dislikes him immensely. The breakfast staff was friendly and far superior.

Yelp
The Park Hyatt hotels go above and beyond, and the Melbourne location is no exception. First and foremost, this is the only hotel I know of that has a canine ambassador! His name is Mr Walker and he is so welcoming. I have to confess, I am not a huge dog person but Mr Walker won me over. Not only is he friendly, you can go with him on his morning walks! We were able to join one morning and it was actually a nice change of pace from the go-go sightseeing schedule. On our walk, Mr Walker's caretaker was also kind enough to stop and explain some of the local history, so that was an added bonus! The rooms are well kept and spacious. The bed was comfortable. And I enjoyed watching the telly while enjoying a relaxing bath. The service was also excellent. From the staff at the front desk to the those working at the restaurants. Room service was delivered in a timely manner and the food were still hot upon arrival! The location is conveniently located in catching the free tram for the CBD. Definitely make this your hotel the next time you are in Melbourne!
google avatar

Yelp
Stay at the Park Hyatt when you really want to give yourself a well deserved treat. The hotel is centrally located in the heart of downtown Melbourne. You can easily take advantage of the free tram services Melbourne has to offer. The amenities and the service here are all top notch. The rooms are huge with a couch and walk in closet. The toiletries are from el labor which my wife really loved. After our stay she went out and bought the body lotion because she liked the lotion so much. My only real suggestion for improvement would be the breakfast. The items were fresh and tasty but I would have liked some more selection. If you don't want eggs or pastries then you are a bit out of luck.

Yelp
Stayed here on business for a week. Could not have been happier with the room, the service or the meals. We used the conference rooms for a small convention and the staff was super helpful. It's in a great location for business or holiday. Only a 100m walk to the metro trains, 40 mins on uber to thw airport. Be sure to take advantage of the excellent breakfast buffet. If you have time, the nearby church and park offer excellent sightseeing opportunities. Overall, I would stay here again and recommend it to friends.

Yelp
When I booked this hotel, I didn't really how upscale it really was until I got there. I didn't realize Park Hyatt meant fancy schmancy. I wish I was there more to take advantage of their tea service and other amenities. My husband and I got dropped off there from the airport shuttle. The shuttle was not able to drive up the driveway because it was too small. Remember this if you are waiting for a tour bus. You have to walk down the street to wait for it. The driveway was pretty grand actually. The hotel is located on its own block away from stores, restaurants, and other hotels. That was a minus for me. When we walked it, the lobby was beautiful decorated and modern. You can see what kind of patrons usually visit this place. Our room was a pleasant surprise. It was huge and I didn't even spring for the upgrade. There was enough room for another queen size bed and a couch. The bathroom had fancy floating glass sinks and huge soaker tub. One thing I didn't like was that they didn't have many drawers to put your clothes in. We ordered room service one night. The late night selection of food was adequate, but the food was overly salty in general. I was not a fan, but big portions at least. The breakfast buffet is a must thought! Wonderful selection and food made to serve! Fabulous waffles! With service, the front desk people and restaurant staff were super nice and hospitable. However, I did just come from the Shangri-La and have to admit that the turn down service there was a lot better than here.

Yelp
Posh and beautiful. We arrived at Park Hyatt Melbourne several hours prior to official check-in time after two long flights. The lovely desk clerk immediately checked us into an upgraded corner room. The hotel is enrobed in rich dark wood with a beautiful art deco feel. Our room was very spacious with marble bathroom and walk-in shower. The club floor comes with complementary continental breakfast but we opted to upgrade to the ample breakfast buffet at a reasonable $8.00pp upcharge. The hotel has a beautiful lap pool with views down Collins Avenue that guests can use free of charge. Location is convenient but quiet, we could easily walk to Flinders Street and the CBD. Staff was polite and friendly. We loved our stay at PHM and recommend it highly.

Yelp
Favourite hotel. Just about everything is perfect. Upon entry, service is A1 all the way. I live that they meet my special requirements everytime, this weekend it's champagne .

Yelp
Recently stayed at both the Park and Grand Hyatt's while in town for business. The location of the Park Hyatt is a bit removed from the CBD, and the clientele here are a little older, so for that reason I preferred the Grand Hyatt. However, the room and bathroom were very spacious and the lounge had a decent selection of items in the morning and evenings. I liked that they also have a resident dog here (Mr. Walker). Make sure to check your invoice at check out. I had an item added that they could not provide a receipt for. Specifically a lunch order and I was never there during lunch. The hotel did remove it, but had I not checked it, I would have been billed for it.

Yelp
I love this place! I have stayed at many Park Hyatts and this is one of my favorites. Beautiful rooms with the best bathrooms (huge tubs, tv, light and bright) as well as wonderful staff and a great gym make this a top pick. Honestly I experienced some of the best customer service I have ever had here the girls were all lovely and went above and beyond to help me put during my 4 day stay. My only complaint was that on the club level there is no staff there during the day so you cannot get food sent there if your working. I cannot wait for my next visit.
google avatar

Sarah L.

Yelp
This is an exceptional hotel. The rooms are large, with deep baths and great beds. Each room has a nespresso coffee maker and bergamot toiletries. The gym is well equipped and spacious, including a 20m lap pool. There is rarely more than 4-5 people in the gym which is handy. The restaurant has a delicious menu and quick, friendly service when dining alone. The service is exceptional, I travel there often and the staff recognise me and say hello. It is as close to a home away from home as I have been.
google avatar

Yelp
Excellent service and quality. I enjoyed my stay here during my holiday. The staff was very helpful and attentive. The room that we had was a perfect stay for travel days my partner and I. I enjoyed the tub as I watched rugby play.Is that not heaven. I also able to enjoy the Park Club lounge which was superb. What a great escape from everything. Overall the staff here was excellent. Well done. Park Hyatt you do not disappoint.

Yelp
When I started searching for where to stay in Melbourne, I gravitated to these neighborhoods: West Melbourne, Brunswick/East, Collingwood, Fitzroy, St Kilda, South Yarra and Prahran. St Kilda, South Yarra and Prahran were a bit far from the center and I didn't have many days, so I removed them from my list. I also don't like to stay in the center of everything because of giant tourist crowds and the frenetic energy. That left me with a few options, and I ended up calling Park Hyatt my home in Melbourne. I have stayed at Park Hyatt Paris-Vendôme, Seoul and Busan and loved all of my visits. My Park Hyatt experience in Melbourne was no different. When you drive up and walk into the hotel, you get this sense of grandness, and at the same time, you feel the intimacy in its service. Heidi at reception was so helpful, a close second behind the service I received at Four Seasons Seoul. The Park Hyatt is across the street from St. Patrick's Cathedral, a 5 minute walk to Carlton Gardens where I went for my morning runs, a 10 minute walk to Gertrude Street in Fitzroy and a 15 minute walk to Flinders Lane. Close to everything but just far enough to make it feel like I was on the outskirts of the countryside. I was lucky enough to have one of the best restaurants in town at the hotel too. Usually no matter how great the restaurant, it still feels like you're dining at a hotel. That is not the case at radii, where 50% diners happen to be locals or repeat visitors. Dinner was especially memorable not only because it was the best meal I had in Melbourne but also because the chef's philosophy is very much my own. Chef Tyson Gee believes in serving food that is in season and thoughtfully sourced and all the dishes lived up to the claims, with my fish and oysters caught that morning. The hotel even has its own bees and hives to source honey on its rooftop. It is completely true that luxury is in every detail. After a full day of working, exploring the city, having lunch with friends and indulging in a nightcap at the bar, there is nothing better than walking into an Italian marbled bathroom, soaking in the tub with an exclusive Le Labo scent made exclusively for Park Hyatt Melbourne. Why else do you think Lady Gaga, Rod Stewart and Pink have been guests here? This is the place to stay during your Melbourne visit.
google avatar

Carol K.

Yelp
Lovely hotel located in a convenient location to most things Melbourne has to offer. The rooms are large. I loved the way they were designed with sliding doors that separate the closet and bath areas from the bedroom. And speaking of the bathroom, it was quite spacious, with tons of plush towels, a soaking tub with bath salts, and a shower with body spray feature that had tons of water pressure and made every morning feel like I was in a personal spa. The bed is super comfortable, with plenty of pillows and soft linens. And the work space, while compact, includes everything I needed including an adaptor plug as I always need another one of those! Internet is quick, there is a coffee and a tea pot in the room as well as a safe. And I loved that the windows actually open letting in fresh air and allowing me to view out onto the city itself. The staff is friendly and helpful. Every time the doorman saw me coming he'd hand me an umbrella, or open the door; pretty much anything I needed. And the breakfast buffet that is included in the room rate is terrific! Plenty of freshly cooked items as well as fruits, breads, rolls, meats, nuts, etc on the buffet. Delicious and the favorite part of each of my mornings here. A great place to stay when in Melbourne!

Yelp
Awesome hotel here in Melbourne. Food is great here! This hotel gets 5 stars because when I misplaced a lost item, the staff here worked around the clock to help me recover it. Even though I didn't get the item back, I still am super grateful for their efforts. Again, a great hotel when in the city.

Yelp
I enjoy staying at the Park Hyatt, the customer service is outstanding and you always treated as though any request is important. The rooms are very well appointed, maintained and always clean; plus an important feature is the good health centre that is accessible all hours so it can fit around your work. The lobby cafe is only open very restrictive hours so it can be a challenge to get a coffee only breakfast here, however room service also is timely and you can get a simple smoothie if you are not a big eater. Being a short walk out of the city means it is peaceful, however taxis at peak times can be hard to get - however if you start earlier all will be well.

Yelp
This is a tie for the BEST Park Hyatt property I have ever stayed at. Terrific, attentive, sincere staff - from valet, to Guest Relations Manager, to Front Desk Manager, to GM. All are so professional and strive to make my stay both memorable, but appreciative of my presence. Very, very impressive team here. I would give them 6 stars if I could. Most sincerely, Greg PS. Other tie is Milan Park Hyatt property

Yelp
We stayed 2 nights in the junior suite. Spacious and good for working in room. Service was Hyatt good. We had black angus burger & steam vegetables 1 night in room $50. Delicious fast food. Next night grilled chicken lean & organic with steam vegetables also $50. Worked well with the aquarium like lap pool. And kept the calories in check. Gym work out was spa like in sedate surroundings. We. Had lots of space. The weather was cold so in room hot chocolate and nespresso was welcoming. Short 15 min walk to Colin street for shopping or office & hotel provides umbrellas in room for the wet weather. Transfer is via coach or taxi. Seclusion means good quiet ambience slightly away from public transport.

Yelp
I'm not sure if this place has undergone a refurb since I last went (in 2006) but it is looking very sharp now...I went for a private function which was in the aptly named 'Library Room' - yep that room decked with mahogany bookcases, fine china and gold rimmed encyclopedias... We were given a scrumptious leg of duck for entree, ocean trout for main and bread/butter pudding for dessert...all pretty good. I will have to make sure it isn't such a long time between visits.
google avatar

Sandy G.

Yelp
Park Hyatt is a very good business hotel. The room is very nice, fabulous bathrooms include TV, spacious closets etc, well built and quiet rooms. The atmosphere is a bit generic however, and while its an easy walk to the business district you aren't in the heart of things. Breakfast buffet is decent but at $40 I find it overpriced. It opens at 6:30am. I've used the gym and the spa several times and I would rate that 4 stars. The indoor pool is beautiful and classy. The gym is well equipped and the locker rooms include sauna and steam. Had a fantastic facial there also.
google avatar

Joss K.

Yelp
Frankly, the only reason this hotel gets 4 and not 5 stars is likely because I just left the bastion of hotel perfection at the Park Hyatt Sydney. While this is an excellent hotel, the Park Hyatt Sydney is in a class of its own. That said...we were warmly welcomed after a delayed flight and an incredibly rough landing due to terribly inclement weather. We were glad to be on solid ground and in good hands, to say the least. Check in was smooth, though they missed a few of the usual Diamond member perks and when they offered the amenity, they passed it off as "just a jar of nuts and an in-house wine." Felt a bit like we were at a Regency in the United States, where that is commonplace, but again, a far cry from the Sydney's "when shall we deliver a bottle of Veuve Clicquot to your room?" Alas, we return to reality. On the very plus side of things, our room was beautifully appointed--feels a little Wiener Werkstatte, as my colleague pointed out--and it was nearly 650 square feet, replete with walk in closet and changing areas, an oversized bath area, and a sitting room with a fireplace! We had fires every night, sometimes with a glass of red wine. Just perfect for this wintry season in Melbourne. Housekeeping staff were efficient and unobtrusive. The Park Club on the 19th floor, where our room was located, offers superb views of the city, a solid continental breakfast on Sundays only--other days one takes breakfast in the Radii Restaurant--and evening cocktails, wine, and heavy canapés and dessert petit fours. Access is limited. The breakfast buffet in Radii is an excellent international spread--just as one would expect. Service here is, again, efficient and unobtrusive, and one's teapot is never empty. We enjoyed our stay so much, in fact, that we opted to switch our last two nights from the Grand Hyatt--which I'm sure is lovely in its own regard--and just stay put. Vignesh at the front desk took care of this request effortlessly, along with booking early morning cabs to the airport and arranging for a breakfast on the go. Top honors to him for excellent and personal service, but without overlooking any of the other wonderful associates. I felt as though we were staying not at a hotel, but among friends. Oh, and if you've a few days, try the relaxation massage packaged with high tea and a glass of champagne. Just a perfect way to while away the afternoon, and the lovely spa hostess Apple is tops. This will surely be my go-to for any further visit to Melbourne. It should be yours, too.

Yelp
Very nice hotel with an impressive breakfast buffet and good service. Walking distance to everything downtown, and commune cafe next door is a good informal place to get a meal.

Yelp
Probably my favorite Hyatt anywhere. The rooms are enormous and luxurious. Giant spacious bathroom with every conceivable amenity. Wonderful bed with not-too-soft mattress. Breakfast is outstanding, fresh food, cereal ,fruit, every kind of juice, eggs to order, any kind of coffee, great service... This is a luxury hotel but prices are not ridiculous. I highly recommend.

Sunset W.

Yelp
Accommodation was decent. Very noisy in the hall. We got a cheaper room but they put us across from the tennis court and apparently everyone can see into our room from there. 2 stars is for the service however. Delightful people when we checked in, but all downhill from there. Booked a car through the front desk for the day I checked out... Was over an hour late... And when we asked ur staff if the car was here we were talked down to by the lady working outside and told coldly "Well I don't know about it... You'll have to check with the front desk" Then the front desk was rude. Either we missed something or we just paid over a thousand dollars to stay at a hotel that talks down to its guests... Even after failing to get a simple task sorted. Very disappointing and Unimpressive for a hotel that's supposed to be of high quality.

Yelp
The best hotel in Melbourne. Everything I needed was in my bathroom. Felt like a princess waking up.

Yelp
Not a good experience I hope you never receive or by someone a gift voucher for here, my partner received one a while ago and we were booked in to use it but I got sick and we had to cancel , so every time after that we tried to use it we were told that there was no availability , and after the voucher had expired and a lot of back and forth emails we used it because we had to , once again not a night we wanted but had to use it . We arrived and then was told that we had to pay as the voucher had expired , the discussion went back and forth until I suggested we leave and my partner put a letter on company letter head saying how disappointed we were ( as it was a voucher from her work ) we were told that we could stay and the manager would contact accounts to try and sort this out in a few days time , so up to room we go not really feeling the love , room was ok went out for a walk and dinner Came back to one of the worst nights sleep I've ever had could hear all the doors opening and closing and other guest laughing and talking ,not their fault but I've stayed in New York In a quieter room The breakfast that every one raved about on various pages was ok Maybe we started of badly and it set the mood Won't be rushing back I'm still expecting a bill wish we could put no stars

Yelp
This was the first hotel I stayed back in September. I must say, quite impressive as I enjoyed a free upgrade on my arrival. The room was immaculate and the room service food was divine. Great place.

I just went to view it and I found the rooms to be quite old and definitely not worth the price . People are friendly but I won't go and stay there . Plus the area is really far away from everything

Yelp
This is one of my favorite hotels in the world. Situated on the edge of Fitzroy Gardens (a beautiful park in Melbourne) and within a 5-7 minute walk to Chinatown, the Park Hyatt is a real gem. Physically, its a nice property with spacious, well-designed rooms and huge windows that let you take in the beauty of the surrounding area (like the stunning St Patrick's Cathedral located next door). It's expensive but has a lot going for it.

Yelp
Whenever i go to melbourne on business i always stay here and never dissapointed. My company gets special rates so the deal is even better. The restaurant is also very good and the chef will always provided a taster dish of his specialty. The only negative is that it is a little away from the city but in saying that it is only a 10 minute walk to the paris district in Melbourne
