Park Hyatt Zanzibar

"Located along a pristine stretch of beachfront in Stone Town, a designated UNESCO Heritage site, the Park Hyatt’s first property in Zanzibar impresses from the outset. It’s housed in two stately buildings: Mambo Msiige, an historic structure built in the 17th century, and the newly constructed Zamani Residence, which houses a restaurant, library, and communal lounge areas. Guest rooms are luxurious yet homey—like the rooms of a typical Zanzibari mansion—and feature plush, four-poster canopy beds and traditional, hand-carved Zanzibari furnishings. There’s an excellent Anantara Spa and a state-of-the-art fitness center onsite, but the highlight of the property is its 60-foot-long oceanfront infinity pool, which overlooks the entire expanse of Stone Town beach. Editor's Pick: Hot List 2016"

First class hotel, as you would expect at a Park Hyatt. Rooms were roomy and ours had an ocean view. Bathroom was plenty big for two people to both use. Pool area very clean and well stocked with towels. Outdoor dining comfortable, chose either sunny or shaded tables. Breakfast buffet had good assortment including some local fare.

The Park Hyatt Zanzibar is perfectly located in Stone Town and has beautiful views of the sunset and the local life. The hotel has a beautiful historic story and the interior decorations are done to reflect that. The reception we received when arriving at the hotel from the gentlemen at the entrance was welcoming and warm. The concierge gave us a tour of the hotel grounds and then brought as to our spacious and well appointed room. He made us feel very special and welcome. The pool is overlooking the beach and is beautiful but the glass needs to be cleaned a bit so you can see better. Beautiful outdoor seating area and dining area. In the early evening there are quite a bit of mosquitos so bring spray. Book walking city tours with the hotel directly and no one else. Overall most of the staff were exceptional however there were a couple who did not meet the standards. We enjoyed our stay at the Park Hyatt Zanzibar and when in Stonetown, this is absolutely the place to stay.

I have to admit that I had high expectations for this Park Hyatt after reading reviews. And for the most part, it delivered. Our suite was amazing - absolutely beautiful. Two bathrooms, both clean, plus a bedroom with a king sized bed and a living/dining room and TWO balconies. It did spell a tad bit musty, but that's probably to be expected at the beach and didn't bother us too much. The breakfast was probably the best hotel breakfast we've ever had. Really good with both a buffet and menu to order from. We did have an issue with our suite not being ready at check in time (which is 3:00). Our room wasn't ready until after 5pm, but the staff put us up in another room while we waited. It wasn't ideal, but it was better than nothing. The service overall was really good. My only real complaint is that the area that the hotel is located wasn't my favorite. From what I've been told, the other side of the island is better. I haven't been to the other side, so I can't confirm, but it's what I've been told. Stone Town is more historic, but less resort like, if that makes sense. I also had a great experience at the spa. I booked a package that included a full body scrub, massage and facial. What I loved was that the same person did all three, in the same room. No need to get up, throw on a robe to move to the next room with the next person. Also, instead of wasting 10 minutes or more between services, I got a full 2.5 hours. So many places now only give you 50 minutes for a one hour service, with 10 minutes for dressing/undressing and moving. And the price was fantastic compared to spas in the US. It was half of what I'm used to paying for comparable services. So in a nutshell, the hotel is beautiful, the service is great, the breakfast and spa are fantastic, but the area that it's located wasn't my favorite.

Great hotel with a such exceptional staff. The service here is really top notch. Everyone is very kind, super attentive and just wonderful. It is a beautiful property and our room was top notch. We split our time between here and a different hotel on our trip (which turned out to be a huge disappointment) would 100% come back just here on next trip to Zanzibar.

We ran from a highly-rated, but nasty nearby hotel to this oasis on the Indian Ocean. This place couldn’t be nicer. Large, comfortable room. Good restaurant with extensive breakfast buffet and a spectacular, if expensive, Sunday brunch. We are at the end of a month-long trek from Cape Town and this was the perfect place to chill by the infinity pool and ocean before the long flight home.

Stayed in this Hyatt location for 6 days. Topnotch food, service, location and rooms. Shout out to Fauzi in guest experience, he is an expert in his field! We communicated initially via email regarding airport pickup, room set up and daily tours and he was very prompt to respond. On our arrival day, he greeted us from the moment we got out of the SUV transport and personally escorted us to our room, thereafter he left me with his what's app for communicating any needs we may have. Superb!!!|The room we had was spacious for 3 adults. Lincoln from laundry, volunteered to clean our dirty sneakers, free of charge, even returned them the same day, wow!! Renalyn and another spa therapist ( sorry forget her name, she was from Tanzania) from the Spa was truly phenomenal! Me and my daughter had booked the spa signature massage , which was much needed after our 9 day safari, and they helped ease our sore muscles. We ate at the Dining Room, Living Room and Veranda, breakfast had very great selections and they also had local dishes in the menu for lunch and dinner. Shout out to Norah, Maria, Ernest, Mowanza, Hamad and Jonathan in the restaurants , they all made our dining experience memorable. Even Masenza the daytime security guard always had a smile and a greeting whenever we swam the ocean, the pool or just chill in the veranda. Busnar , the doorman always greeted us warmly, whenever we came back from our daily excursions. The hotel has beach access with umbrellas and lounges( public), I would suggest going in the morning as it can get crowded in the afternoon with boats and locals. Hotel's location is in the heart of Stone Town, there are shops and restaurants which are walkable. Thank you Park Hyatt Zanzibar Team! You definitely are 10/10!!!

The Park Hyatt was the last stop on our honeymoon before heading home, and it was a spectacular way to finish off the trip. Everything about the hotel was excellent. Our only regret is not staying here a few more nights. If we're ever lucky enough to be in Stone Town again, we'll definitely be returning. The staff are world-class and went above and beyond for us, and we're so grateful to them for making our stay even more memorable. Asante Sana!

The hotel was beautiful and rooms were super spacious. Hotel staff was great and any request we had was immediately taken care of. Fresh fruit was in the room upon check in and the staff was amazing! Highly recommend staying here!
