The 8 Best Hotels in Amsterdam (Updated 2025)

"Set in a 19th-century neo-Classical building in the Centraal/Centrum district right across from Centraal Station, I love staying here because the rooms are very modern and stylish with comfy beds, good natural light, a desk, and stylish bathrooms outfitted with Egyptian linens and walk-in showers; rooms also include in-room coffee and tea. The hotel has an indoor swimming pool, sauna, gym, and a stylish downstairs restaurant serving Dutch and international cuisine, making it great value for money." - Matthew Kepnes

Arrived after flight. Great location next to train station. Too early to check in, checked bags and told to return at 2pm. Came back at 255pm. Room still not ready, so they "upgraded" us to a very cool room w a lot of space. However its a loft w a staircase to bed on 2nd level. The stairs are more like a ladder, worrisome for overnight bathroom visits. Very beautiful space. BUT Shelf fell off shower wall bracket bc of rusty screw Heat just TOTALLY shuts off while we are in the room (it was very cold our first day). We tell them repeatedly. They insist its the environmental settings for the whole hotel and it shuts off everything when you leave the room with no movement. I explain im sure something is wrong bc if we are walking around our room it shouldn't all shut off. It did. Repeatedly. Even when trying to navigate the ladder stairs or taking a shower. Just pitch black. Every time I called I kept explaining "do NOT send someone to my room. Im just letting you know so you can fix it after I leave". It did not stop 3 separate workers being sent to our room plus a phone call. Just fix this stuff when someone checks out. Im an EU citizen i travel throughout Europe a lot. I appreciate efforts to be green and im very familiar. I haven't been somewhere where the heat shuts down in the winter. We woke up freezing (much warmer in loft than 1st floor). We paid a lot of money for our stay. I wouldnt recommend staying here if you're not getting some amazing deal. One more complaint-if you have a nice hotel pool and its a trek to get to, leave some robes in the rooms! A positive comment: the hotel bar was nice. Cozy fun environment EDIT: needed to add ALL the knocks on our door occurred while privacy message was on. All inconvenient times. Not the maintenance workers fault, but dont send people to my room if I say "im taking a shower do NOT send anyone to my room". Fix it after I go check out

My wife and I stayed in this hotel for a weekend getaway. I will say that it is very conveniently located near the central train station - easy to get to and from airport. The hotel is also just at the edge of where it starts to get very busy. This makes everything simple to walk to or to grab a tram to other parts of the city. It is very nicely decorated and the staff were also very helpful. I will say that getting to your room may be of a bit of an adventure the first few times - up and elevator to get to other building through a hall to go up another elevator. The room was very spacious (suite), but the view was non-existent. The chairs were strangely uncomfortable, but the beds were great. The breakfast was perfect, with a lot of selection and crispy bacon (a rare find hahaha). As for the cost, you can easily pay the same amount in some nearby spots and get way less. We did not use the pool or spa. I forgot to take pics of the room. My apologies. Thanks for a great stay.

Excellent stay at Park Plaza Victoria! We had a wonderful experience, especially thanks to the great service during breakfast. A special thank you to the two Fatima, who were incredibly kind, attentive, and professional. Their warm welcome and care truly made a difference. Great breakfast, lovely atmosphere, and outstanding service. Highly recommended!

This our second time in this hotel. We love everything about it, especially the perfect location, right in front of Amsterdam central station, with all the transportation. It close to everything, the Dam square and so much more. The breakfast is excellent, large variety of choices and very delicious. Highly recommended. We will return again.

Right across the canal from the central train station and in the heart of historic Amsterdam, this hotel's location is fabulous. Our room was a bit on the small side, which is interesting because the front desk told us they upgraded us to a room larger than we'd booked. Very nice of the hotel to does this, but it makes me wonder just how small the room that we'd actually booked would have been. House keeping service was poor. They didn't show up to clean our room until 5pm, at which time we told them not to bother as we were back our room. Not sure why it took them so long as we had enabled the "please clean room" sign at about 9:30am.

Me and hubby stayed for around 5 days and everything is nearby which makes this hotel better than what it is. Staff are ever so nice and helpful with smiles through and through. The only downside was the housekeeping, room was not hovered, sheets were not changed (maybe that’s part of their service but not sure) and coffee spoons were not changed. Considering all this, we would definitely book again because of the location but we would voice the housekeeping concerns next time around.

Hotel in a very strategic location, right in front of Amsterdam Central Station — extremely convenient for getting around and also perfect for a short stay. The room was very spacious, and we chose a king-size bed that was truly wide and very comfortable, perfect for a good night’s sleep. The bathroom was quite simple, functional but without any particular highlights for a four-star hotel. One small downside: there was no complimentary bottle of water in the room, which is something you normally expect at this level and would have been appreciated. The least convenient aspect was the layout to reach the room: an elevator to the first floor, then a walk through a corridor, and finally a second elevator up to the seventh floor. Not a major issue, but a bit confusing, especially with luggage. Overall, a good hotel thanks to its location and bed comfort, with a few details that could be improved to fully match its four-star rating.

It's nice, and beautifully situated in the middle of everything...I've rated it down for two reasons:firstly, it's split in two, and to get to our rooms we had to take two lifts: not ideal:second: there were no usb charge points in the room...staff were happy to charge my phone in their office, but it meant giving up the phone for 2-3 hours. Why not have a plug in charger available? I had the cable...Apart from that a nice hotel with nice staff.
