Where to Stay in Amsterdam (Updated 2025)

"Set in a 19th-century neo-classical building hugging Centraal Station, Park Plaza Victoria offers Egyptian linens, walk-in showers, in-room coffee and tea, and great views of the city; I love staying here and find it great value for your money." - Matthew Kepnes

With a superb location this hotel was an absolute steal. For what we paid, I expected the hotel to be run down or really outdated. Right outside the Victoria station, walking distance to all the main touristy stuff in London, decent room with modern technology and working AC (a must considering we traveled during the hottest summer on record in the U.K.) We even received 2 vouchers for a beer each by agreeing to not have our room cleaned as frequently.

Very nice hotel in a fantastic location. I found the room to be clean and comfortable. I was able to walk anywhere I needed or wanted like the subway station, major sites (Big Ben, Palace, etc), and grocery just up the street. I felt safe. Hotel elevator required a key to get to your floor. ||The room has instant coffee and a kettle which worked for my needs. They didn't always replenish with tea or extra coffee but when I went to front desk they would provide. ||My suggestions to the hotel - Get new and higher quality towels. The towels stunk!!! Every single day the towels had a horrid moldy smell to them. I think the smell was because they don't dry very quickly and end up always smelling moldy, even after cleaned but upon arrival and every single day, every single towel that was 'new' had this horrid smell. Second suggestion - go easy on the lobby scent - The lobby smell perfume was overwhelming. ||I would 100% stay here again as it was super comfortable, quiet and fantastic location.

We stayed here for three days after a cruise out of Southampton. It was a perfect spot for our family (two adults, two kids; ages 11 and 8). Check-in was very easy, and we were upgraded to a suite, which was incredible after the 4 of us had just spent 10 days in a small cabin on the cruise ship! The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. We opted to pay for the breakfast buffet every morning, and the food was delicious. Hot, tasty, and plenty of options for whatever you're looking for. The location was great. If you are interested in theater, there were several within walking distance. Plenty of nearby restaurants and a short walk to the Victoria tube station, where we picked up our hop-on/hop-off bus. The staff were all very friendly, there was a cute little check-in spot for kids, and they were great for holding our bags when we checked in, but before our room was ready, so that we could go exploring. Definitely recommend!

The location of Park Plaza Victoria is excellent, very convenient for sightseeing and transport. The staff were friendly and helpful, and whenever something was broken or needed attention, they fixed it immediately. That said, my overall experience was fairly average. I stayed in an Executive room, which was supposed to include a KING bed, but the hotel instead provided a king bed base with two single mattresses under the same sheet—definitely not the expected experience. Some of the furniture, particularly a chair, had multiple cracks and looked worn, which detracted from the room’s overall appearance. The bathroom was very tiny, and the dark colors combined with dim lighting made the space feel even smaller. The hotel’s vibe doesn’t give the feeling of being on holiday; it felt more like a convention center hotel. In summary, while the location and staff were positives, the room and overall atmosphere left much to be desired.

Stayed in room 232 from the 4th to the 6th of September ||The room was great and service great however I left a pair of jeans in the hotel room and have emailed and called to asked if it could be sent to me (postage paid by me) but the staff have not returned my request. ||It’s a little disappointing after such a great stay ||Can someone please reach out if this has been found. I’m really happy to pay for it to be delivered as I have left London

Excellent breakfast, great location, and staff was always pleasant and courteous. One bedroom apartment was NOT as pictured on their website. Smaller, no kitchenette, and furniture was tired. Terrace as pictured on website is not always available. Bathroom was very good size, however, shower leaked. Preordered fruit bowling was very good! Maybe their other rooms are nicer but disappointed in the one bedroom apartment (photo attached).

Really convenient hotel for a night in London if you head in by train to Victoria. Easy to access underground and lots of great places nearby for late night drinks and breakfast. Booked for my boyfriends birthday and they were kind enough to arrange for a birthday cake in the room when we checked in. Lovely modern rooms, clean with great views. The bed was absolutely enormous and so so comfy (I like a firm mattress) Check in and check out service was a bit slow. Must add that the pictures on booking.com really don't do this place justice. I was expecting a relatively cheap bolt hole and was blown away by how lovely and well kept the hotel was.

We had a wonderful welcome at Park Plaza. The staff was incredibly kind and helpful. Florina in particular jumped at every opportunity to make our stay an enjoyable experience. We felt very welcomed and relaxed and would definitely stay here again!
