Where to Stay in Sydney (Updated 2025)

"I liked this mid-range hotel for its rooftop pool and city views, its excellent central location that gives easy access to main attractions, and the added value of a free airport shuttle." - Matthew Kepnes

Stayed over the weekend, staff were lovely and checking in was very easy. The room is where it started becoming a little disappointing. The bathroom was tiny, the shower head was grubby and the grout had mould all through it. The fridge in the room absolutely stunk when we opened it. The beds were comfortable but it is an incredibly noisy place to stay so sleep was minimal unfortunately.

Good experience, have stayed at this hotel a couple of times and it’s always a good experience. ||Positives: good location, friendly/helpful staff, room is pretty good value for the price, the bed was very comfortable. ||To improve: the bathroom was small and the shower set up wasn’t very good (water pressure wasn’t great and there was no shower fan, meaning everything fogged up very quickly. The floor also got very wet whenever we used the shower).

Stayed here before running the City to Surf. Quite a dated hotel but otherwise clean and comfortable. Parking was a little tight but suited us for one night. Walking distance to Hyde Park and close to transport and dining. Good value for money

Good transportation link with trains, subways and light rails for airport and Sydney centre. Nearby big Woolworths supermarket, shops, cafe and restaurants. Hotel is a little hard to find as it’s not a grand entrance and attached to a residential building complex. Staff are friendly with smiles, amenities workable though WiFi is a bit unstable but overall good value for money in such central location. There’s a roof top terrace w/a small pool too.

Our stay at Park Regis Hotel was truly satisfying, especially in the family room which was spacious, clean, and well-equipped for a comfortable stay. The location was perfect — close to major attractions, shops, and transport, making it easy for our family to explore Sydney. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the room offered everything we needed for a relaxing and enjoyable experience. We felt right at home and would gladly stay here again on our next family trip.

We booked a nights stay here before our cruise and was quite j. We stayed in Room 704. Room was spacious, bed good size and comfy. Only downside for us, was the bathroom. Door and sink was a very tight squeeze. Other than that, was happy. Great location, staff very friendly, would definitely stay again

Stayed 3 nights while attending Sydney for work. Great central location close to everything but very old and tired building. Room was very basic with the shower just separated by a plastic curtain. The worst was some bad smell in the room perhaps from an old carpet. There is also a lot of noise from the lift in the room which was disturbing my sleep. My colleagues in the other rooms complained about the same. Friendly staff at the reception and the room was clean.

Everything about this hotel is done on the cheap. From the very basic bathroom to the cheap assembled wardrobe. It is in essence one step up from a backpackers. The is okay for a weekend in Sydney.
