My husband and I had the pleasure of meeting and working with Alex while on the Discovery Princess Alaskan cruise. He curated several fabulous pieces of art for us that we proudly display in our home, and also taught us both a lot about the artists and the artworks, further deepening our appreciation for these beautiful paintings! We are lucky to have met Alex and would most certainly be repeat buyers from him!

Just returned from a VIP event at the Grove Park Inn. What a phenomenal weekend. The art, artists, and entire Park West team were the best. The event was fun, educational, and more than I could ask for! I can’t wait to hopefully have the opportunity to go again. We even got a visit from a mama bear and her cub as we left. Thank you Park West for an exceptional experience.

We had an amazing experience with Park West Galleries aboard the Carnival Celebration. The entire process of purchasing art was seamless, exciting, and truly memorable. A huge thank you to Grace Mzila, who was an absolute pleasure to work with. She was knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely passionate about helping us find the perfect pieces for our collection. Grace took the time to explain the artwork, answer all of our questions, and made us feel confident and comfortable with our purchases. We are so excited to receive our art and can’t wait to hang these beautiful pieces on the walls of our home. If you’re considering adding art to your collection while cruising, we highly recommend Park West Galleries—and definitely ask for Grace! She made the experience exceptional from start to finish.

We were first introduced to Park West on a Royal Cruise by just wandering around BUT really had an experience while cruising with Carnival where Cameron Hannon and Cara Clarke made it one of a life time. We went to every art activity on that cruise and felt like one of the family. It made our day to see them at a port we docked at that their most recent job took them too. We’d book more cruises just to know they were on that ship

Family and I took a vacation with Norwegian cruise line. Not having no knowledge of Art or any of that matter we came across Kash and Valentina and i must say they gave us great information and knowledge of what art really is. Kash was amazing with his experience and knowledge any question we had he had an answer, Valentina was a charm going beyond with my family if we had any concerns or doubts we had no intention in purchasing Art lets just say once we finished our vacation we purchased 5 Art work and 3 sculptures kash and valentina also made the process from the beginning to the end very easy and smooth…. Cant wait to purchase more art!!!!

My daughter and I attended all of the auctions and events with the gallery and made several purchases, many of which we have already received and are very pleased with. But I specifically would like to call out how amazing Lee Nagel and Tersia Botha are. This is not our first cruise with them and both times they are brilliant at their jobs- enthusiastic, well-informed, and just so kind and helpful in the whole process (and I had a lot of questions and brought lots of challenges). They are shining stars with Park West and because of them I am happy to remain a loyal client of the gallery.

Went on my first cruise on Princess Line and had the pleasure of meeting Shack ( Shackeem Lawrence) he was very attentive and personable. He made sure we had a good view. Made us feel comfortable to be able to ask question. I ended up buying my first piece of Art. Albert from South Africa was very helpful as well. Thank you for hiring great staff! Kudos to all.

On a celebrity cruise Jan 3rd 2026 thru Jan 11th 2026. Brandon Marriott completed his very first auction on the fly, with grace and dignity. I have attended 4 auctions on cruise ships and Brandon was the most informative auctioneer I've ever encountered. His personality put me at ease, and information made me extremely comfortable in buying my 2nd and 3rd piece. Had it not been for Brandon, I would not have bought the pieces that I did. Yelp
I went to an event for the Yelp Elite squad. The event was sponsored by the gallery and was top-notch! I have driven by Park West for years, but never visited. Truly impressive and a gem for our area. The event had the most delicious food and drink. So appreciative! Then, and totally unexpected - we were gifted amazing framed prints. I had no words when mine was delivered. Well, I do have words...THANK YOU!!!

John B.

Yelp
We attened the on ship auction and they presented two art works for bid. We bid on them and won the bid. Nothing was said more about the two pieces, until we were informed at the time to sign that these were unframmed. During the auction they explain many time them some of the art is called carry off and sold as in. but nothing said that the art presented with frames is not actully framed. Not at all as presented to us during the auction. Now the High pressure sales start. We feel they misrepresented everything, sure feels like false advertising. We called first thing Monday after returning from the cruise and requested them to cancel the order way before it was even processed and they will not even do that. Now they're saying I can't get my money back. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING from this company.

Yelp
Its definitely something to experience and get lost in. Admiration at its finest. Makes you want to sit down & get your creative juices flowing.

Yelp
TLDR: annoying staff named Neo ruined the auction experience for us. Was enjoying a Park West auction on the Celebrity Silhouette with Ivan the auctioneer, a witty chap from Montenegro. I had just come to experience it but while participating I was considering making a bid on a piece just because I thought it was fun and liked the feeling, not because I'm a serious collector or anything. However there was this youngish staffer guy who's name tag said "Neo". He kept getting in my friend's face, several times. I could smell the champagne on his breath, and he was badgering us on why we weren't bidding on several pieces (we were not interested in those ones, i would not have attended if I knew we were going to be harassed by this annoying and awkward guy. We were livid and left. Park West do you train your staff?

Charlie B.

Yelp
Very pushy people . I did not receive whst I bid on. Yes I was a little tipsy I was on my first cruise and trying to enjoy my self. The sales lady at the end ask m we to sit down before I fall.right there she should seen i wasn't In shape to sign .

Yelp
On September 18, 2024, I purchased a painting from a Park West land auction. I intended the painting as a Christmas gift and wad assure that I would have it in 8 to 12 weeks. It has now been 19 weeks, after not hearing a word or an apology for the delay, I received an email asking me which painting I bought. I explained that due to the length of time that had gone by, I no longer wanted the painting. Park West initially refused to cancel the sale and I had to argue back and forth with them. In the end, I am expected to still pay $570 (15% of the original price) for something I don't even have when in fact, Park West could easily resell the painting without even losing a penny. They clearly don't give two hoots about customer service or integrity. I would strongly advise against purchasing anything from this company. Their business practices are sketchy at best.

Yelp
High pressure sales, false advertising and they do not try to help if your painting gets lost. I ordered a $500 painting and waited all day for fedex because they require a signature. The painting never came and now they're saying I can't get my money back. They're crooks. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING from this company.

Yelp
To get a new appraisal on any items that you brought in the past. There is a $55 fee which you must pay before you get your appraisal. Which I did two months ago. Still have not received my paid appraisal. Denise St Louis,Mo

Yelp
Is lying an essential cultural practice of American capitalism, a lubricant, if you will, for what I'll call the "art of business." Well, the Park West Gallery sales representative lied right to my face! I've done business with Park West for almost 20 years and recently (10/16/2024) bought a second Peter Max on a Celebrity cruise. I like this one piece (Flag with Heart) and specifically asked "Is this the exact numbered piece I'll be receiving?" The representative said "YES". "Great, let's complete the transaction". I did take a picture of the piece which was numbered 395/495. When we received the artwork, the numbered piece was 465/495. Yes, it looks identical, but the issue is the Park West representative LIED. This will be the last piece of artwork I buy from Park West. Based on this experience, I recommend NOT to purchase from Park West. 11/1/2024 Received this note from PW as a follow-up: I would like to bring your attention to our Terms and Conditions, indicate that you may receive an annotation that differs from what is displayed at the event. Additionally, clause 16 states that no verbal agreements should be relied upon. Brandon Martinez Client Services Representative 29469 Northwestern Highway Southfield, MI 48034 REALLY....you are NOT to believe what a PW representative tells you! What type of company even puts this in a clause? Only one that is dishonest and deceitful.

Yelp
I have always wanted to come here and finally had the opportunity thru YELP! THANK YOU YELP!!!! This is the BEST kept secret in Southfield! A real GEM! Everything was superb! The artist Mr Marcus Glen was AMAZING!!! Now I'll be coming back to purchase one of his pieces. The food and drinks were excellent! Last but not least, it was GREAT to be with fellow Yelpers again, and seeing the Beautiful Annette!!! Once again this was an event to remember!!! Go check out Park West Gallery. The people and the art is just breathtaking!

Yelp
I recently attended as part of an event/presentation, which I reviewed under the event entry. This is a very large building located on busy Northwestern Highway, with a large private parking lot. Inside is a free art museum, which is huge. Downstairs are some small spaces of art for sale. The art collection is expansive and in the areas it features, it has a great cross section. A surprising number of Picasso prints, for example. And a nice selection of Alexandre Renoir. The staff is first rate.

Yelp
This hidden, local gem is also a renown worldwide art dealer. If you haven't taken the time to visit Park West Gallery please do so as soon as possible, you will not regret it. The parking and entrance are free, how can you beat that? The museum itself is pristine. Having construction completed in 2017 the design of the museum invites the viewer in cozy cubby-like halls and rooms where you can view different artist works like Renault, Picasso (he's a naughty artist, lol) and local artists like Marcus Glenn and Robert Wyland. Make a day of your visit and explore the plentiful nearby shops and restaurants. Delicious local cuisine can be found right across the street at Bacco Ristorante or perhaps you'll be in the mood for the comfort food found at Cornbread Restaurant & Bar. Park West is a huge supporter of local artist as well as the local community in general. Let's do the same and support our local gem, Park West Gallery with a visit or perhaps, if you are in the means, purchase some of their stunning art pieces.

Yelp
High pressure sales with the promise of a "free" print. Reality, "free" print cost $35.00 for insurance. Framing is extra. Shipping is extra. Be careful buying from this company. Mostly prints of artwork they own.

Yelp
Hardly anyone was at Park West Gallery when I visited on a Saturday afternoon. This is a beautiful and free art gallery open to the public with plenty of space to social distance and admire the works of art on display. The gallery has two levels that feature work from Marcel Mouly, Pablo Picasso, Salvador Dali, Alexandre Renoir (descendent of impressionist painter Pierre-Auguste Renoir), Autumn de Forest, and many others. I enjoyed having the exhibitions almost all to myself in this quiet space. There are comfortable benches at each gallery area to sit down and reflect on the artwork. Clean marble restrooms are located throughout the gallery on each level. Everything about this gallery is clean, elegant, and spacious. The Yelp check-in offer for a free gift bag and art print was unavailable during my visit, but hopefully, there will be future check-in offers as life returns to normal. I will be returning.

Yelp
Park West Galleries provides terrible customer service. I went through a divorce and was awarded the art work. PWG was sent my divorce decree and my ex-wife was removed from the account. I then paid for reappaisals for my pieces. The Appraisals ca.e with her name on it. I have been dealing with getting the correct Appraisals for over 18 moths now. On at least four occasions, I was told new Appraisals would be sent. Today, PWG, no service customer service said I would have to pay for reappraisals. What a shame. Don't waste your money here.

Yelp
What an exquisite gallery! This chic gallery is both elegant and culturally inspired. It's huge, and the exhibits go on and on. The exhibits are unique and impressive. I was moved by most of them. It's such a beautiful escape. I attended a Yelp event here a few months back. I learned a lot and was completely impressed. It's a fantastic place to learn more about art and displayed artists. There are lots of beautiful coffee table books to take home. The staff were great. This gallery is exceptional! Art is so necessary...please visit Park West!

Yelp
Don't trust Park West. They send you the wrong items and getting customer service to provide any sort of customer service is non-existent. We saw their art on a Royal Caribbean cruise (our first time on that cruise line in late June, and our first time purchasing art on a boat). Now we never plan to buy art on a cruise thanks to them. It took about 6 weeks for my art to arrive to my doorstep. Upon seeing the art piece, it had the wrong frame. This was extremely upsetting because we had spent about 20-30 painful minutes reviewing frame options (between the frames on display on the ship and the frames within their website). I just didn't like any of their frame options for the piece we wanted. We finally chose one and OF COURSE when it finally arrived to my home, the wrong frame was on it. I called the customer service line that was found on my receipt. Spoke to a female name Tanya who said all she could do was "send an email to a sales agent" to confirm I was indeed sent the wrong frame. Lady, why would I take the time to call you to just lie about a frame? She refused to help beyond that. I explained that I didn't want to send back the art and wait weeks or months to get this reframed. I just wanted a refund for the frame costs (which she said was a minimum of $200). I also didn't think it was fair of them to expect me to repackage the art and send it back, all on my own dime. She said she would send an email. I asked her how long it would take to get this settled and she said "a week" since the agent was "at sea." Well I never heard back so I called back a week later. This time I got a male named Sheldon. He pulled up my file and said there was no mention of me asking for a refund for the frame portion. So Tanya spoke to me about frame costs and the option for refunding but never noted it? How lovely. I said it had been a week and wanted a refund at this point (better to take the money and frame it myself vs trusting those fools to fix it). Sheldon said all he could do was send an email to the agent. Like that helped me last time. So I asked to speak to a supervisor. No surprise that there was no supervisor to talk to. Sheldon said he would put in a note for a manager or supervisor to call me back within "a day or two." So did I get a call back within that time frame? You guessed it. A big fat no. So I called back several days later. This time a female name Mirian answered. She pulled up my file and said she saw "4 days prior" that I was approved for a $100 refund. Soooooo was anyone gonna contact me to let me know that?? I pointed out that per my first call with their team, frames were at minimum $200 so I should at least get that minimum amount back. Her helpful reply? "I can send an email for someone to contact you about this." I pressed for a supervisor as I would rather wait to talk to someone vs waiting for a phone call that would never come (since this was already my 3rd callback and they had never called or emailed me since my first call). She put me on hold for a while and said no supervisor was available. SHOCKER. I then asked for Sheldon since he was friendlier than this lady Mirian. She put me on hold again and then came back with "he's busy but I'll have him call you back." And of course, no callback from Sheldon, any sales agents or manager/supervisor. It's now been a month since I logged my complaint. Oh and that supposed refund? Nope. There is no credit to the credit card I used. Not that I'm surprised. They didn't bother to email or call me about the supposed $100 anyways. These crooks are shady AF. Don't trust them to get you what you ordered and for the love of God, don't waste your time with their customer service line.

Yelp
Came here for the first time during a Yelp Elite event and was absolutely stunned. The museum itself is beautiful with a lovely collection to match. However, the most standout part to me was the wonderful people there who run Park West. They were extremely personable and welcoming as they shared with us the history of the gallery and unique initiatives. I was especially impressed with their philanthropic efforts and for putting Detroit on the map as art collectors. Will definitely be back to take more time and explore!

Stephanie K.

Yelp
It was something to do in the area, that was free and different from my norm. It's not huge so you could easily see everything in less than a half hour if you're not one to soak in the art. I was annoyed that I asked a few employees a question about blue marks on some of the plaques and none of them knew the answer because they said that wasn't their area. Oh well. I wouldn't mind checking it out again some other time when I'm in the area again.

Yelp
What a fun night at Park West Gallery. Met incredibly talented artist Marcus Glenn and his lovely wife Yolanda. His art is spectacular, using fabric material and vibrant colors with a touch of sparkle. The MC of this evening was very entertaining and knowledgeable. Loved to hear stories about the gallery and all the wonderful talent they represent.

Yelp
One in a cruise back in July it is November. We purchase several pieces One of the most expensive pieces was not framed with the frame we paid for I've attached a photo. On the left is what we received Natural looking cheap frame On the left is a black nice frame that we paid for. Not to mention 3 of the pieces did not have the mounting cable They were supposed to come ready to hang. We've emailed we've called we've lost messages on their Facebook pages are messages get deleted emails not answered phone calls not returned. It is November. We got ripped off. And I will continue to be Very verbal about my experience with this company.

Yelp
I purchased a painting on a cruise in August, received it in October...I know..dumb of me (but it was my first time and I really liked the painting) the painting was great but I had frame problems and I sent it back to get it reframed from them. Another month went by or so and I got my painting back and it had the same issue. It was like I was being made a fool. I told them about it and they said to take it to a local frame shop and they can send me a frame. I did just that and finally got my painting how it was suppose to be sent to me as. I wasted multiple trips to fed ex and a frame shop and they refuse to reimburse me for my time and gas spent on this. I told them l'm willing to be compensated for the difference of the $100 coverage for the reframing, they told me no. My reframing costed $40...I believe the amount of time and gas spent, $60 is a good compensation...my painting is finally how it's suppose to be and it is January now...DO NOT RECOMMEND BUYING FROM THEM! THEY ARE A FRAUD AND THEY ARE NOT WILLING TO HELP YOU! They only want money for themselves. I wish I had read the reviews on Yelp about them before purchasing and on that damn cruise ship

Yelp
Park West Gallery has been a part of my family's life for as long as I can remember. When I was young we would go look at their art. Then, with the expansion to many, many of the cruise lines, my family had a very close relationship to their art, and own a variety of pieces from multiple artists. I did not know that they not only were they top sellers of art in a variety of locations, that they curated a very interesting museum on their top level. It was amazing to see some of my favorite artists all in one place. The collection was pretty extensive for such a small place, packed with a variety of fine European art from different eras, and different phases. I liked the Toulouse Lautrec sketches, they were very simple and unassuming. I enjoy the Dali's, they are where nightmares go to get nightmares. Picasso was a big part of the collection, with several of his phases. They also had a mix of more contemporary pieces, including use of new technology to bring work to life for the modern era. Honestly, I could go on about the variety. I am not sure if and when the gallery is open to the public, but I would like the bring the children here if I can. They have been to several art museums and would be delighted to see these pieces.

Yelp
We bought a number print from Park West on the NCL Gem in October 2022. Still no delivery and they are blaming Thomas Kinkade for not getting it to them to ship out. I have contacted them twice after our delivery date, with the same result...they will get back to us. Because we believed they were on the cruise ship they would be legitimate. Boy was I mistaken. They really put on high pressure to buy but they did not accurately reflect what we were buying on the invoice...the numbers did not make sense to us and the sale person assured us that was their codes for the print we were buying. Doing a little research about the print we were supposed to have boughten we have found that there are significant differences in the type of prints and therefore the valuse of what you buy. WARNING...DO NOT BUY FROM THEM AND GET ANYTHING SHIPPED!!!

Melanie G.

Yelp
We purchased several expensive pieces from them while on our Hawaiian Cruise. One of the pieces arrived damaged, We contacted them, and they shipped us a replacement frame and told us they'd reimburse us up to $100 to have the frames changed out. We took it to the framing location and the replacement frame also arrived damaged. We contacted them a second time and they sent another replacement frame. The third replacement frame also arrived damaged. They also informed us that they do not reimburse for reframing, so they lied to us in our first correspondence with them. After writing a negative review, they reached out to us and offered to give us $250 credit to purchase another piece from them. We declined because we're not going to purchase another piece from them when the first piece we purchased arrived damaged and is now going to cost us additional money to get fixed. They then came back and agreed to refund us $250. Today they reached out to us demanding that we sign a letter stating that we'll remove the negative reviews, agree to never say anything disparaging about them in the future, and once we sign the agreement and AFTER we remove the review that they'll "request" a refund of $250 from the cruise ship. I'm not removing any reviews until AFTER we're refunded the money to our card or they send us a check and it's cashed. All we wanted was to receive the item that we paid for in the condition it was supposed to arrive to us.

Yelp
Had a great time visiting Park West Gallery when I was visiting my Grandma in Grosse Pointe over Christmas. We really enjoyed walking around and taking in the beautiful art--who knew this hidden gem was tucked away in Southfield! They have a great collection, and it's super walkable (which was a perk for my Grandma). If you have a free day (or free afternoon) make sure you check this place out!

Yelp
Gorgeous art and so much Picaso pottery- who knew? Saw some great art I really liked by a contemporary artist. The gallery is a hidden gem and I can't wait to go back and spend some more time. The Dalis were great

Yelp
Park West Gallery did good by me. They refund my money for the Art that was no longer available. They also send me the Art that they promised me. The Art was beautiful and in frames. Im very please and satisfy.

Yelp
I bought a Britto sculpture during a (first) cruise from Park West Gallery. Back at home waiting for the package it became clear that the prices of Park West are significant higher than other auction houses. I raised this with Park West and their response was I cannot compare Park West prices to what they call 'secondary markets'. Second reason Park West gave was they offers services beyond these online websites, such as personal service. I can confirm the services are not personal and adequate and certainly do not justify such a higher price. Park west responded very slow and did not look for a solution. I also can confirm the so called 'secondary markets' do give authenticity certifications just like Park West hence again no justification versus the higher prices. Be careful with Park West prices.

Yelp
I posted a review on another site and until I start getting results, I will continue to share my experience! PWG, excluding their Customer Service Department, is a 4 STAR in general terms. Though, the PWG Customer Service Department is less than a zero, though I can't rate them less than a 1 ... even though they deserve it! You better hope that your sale, shipping and delivery go off without a hitch, because otherwise, you will be beyond angry and aggravated with the lack of response to your inquiry. The shipped me the wrong piece...literally, not even close to what we purchased. Now it has been 8 days with multiple emails and 4 phone calls and I am getting NO WHERE! I simply want to know how to return the dang piece that was sent to me in error! Beyond FRUSTRATED! But then I started reading reviews on Google...yep, PWG Customer Service Department is seen as miserable by a number of others! So again, if you pray - pray hard that sales, shipping and delivery are perfect, otherwise you will suffer the consequences to a Customer Service Department that is obviously ran (not led) by incompetent employees. I am guessing that Mr. Scaglione would be beyond irritated to read the reality of such a review! :-(

Yelp
My wife and I had a very deceitful experience with Park West. We went ahead with a picture on the Celebrity Eclipse. 13 hours later we decided to cancel, but we kept getting the run around. Celebrity claimed that we needed to speak directly to Park West Galleries. Park West said we would have to call back in 10 days. That they wouldn't have any paperwork until that time. That they couldn't even note the cancellation without an order in the system. 4 DAYS, count them 4 days (Exactly 110 Hours after Purchase) we received shipping notification. When we immediately called park west, she said we signed the final sale invoice. That is NOT true. Celebrity has a pad that you sign and they transpose it onto a Park west invoice. The Park West Invoice that they give provide you says "Please read carefully all terms and conditions BEFORE buying". We weren't told before hand. They wouldn't stop the sale after. Please don't make the same mistake we did. Inflated prices and deceptive tactics.

Yelp
I would say Park West is a hidden gem of Metro Detroit, but that's so not true!! It's a gem that you can't miss, with a slight disguise. I drove past the huge gallery for a year never knowing it's astounding value. I was first formally introduced to Park West during a Yelp Elite event. The moment I walked through the doors my breath was taken away, in the best way! Your eyes will be delighted once they meet their most beautiful Italian marble floors. During my visit I can recall tapping into a love for art I never knew I could have. I indulged in self care in a unusual way for myself, taking in the beauty along ever wall, with so many pieces bursting with colors that warmed my heart. If you have never visited Park West you have to add this gallery to your MUST VISIT list! If you want to feel as if you've taken a flight out of Michigan to visit a gallery in Europe then this is the place for you! Enjoy! P.s. you won't believe to visit is FREE.99!! Wow!

Yelp
I'm another sucker who bought some art from Park West on a cruise that ended 10/14/2022. I'm not upset with the quality of the art I received even though I probably over paid for them (That's business). However there is one piece I was told would be delivered to my door within 90 days. It's now 3/27/2023 (over 5 months) and the art work has yet to ship and Park West refuses to refund. I personally will not do business with Park West in the future. Like a previous reviewer mentioned I may purchase artwork that was originally sold by Park West and is now being resold for a much more reasonable price.

Doreen G.

Yelp
I purchased art from Park West's art auction when I was on a cruise February 11-18th on the 2nd day of the cruise. When I paid for the artwork ($75.00), I was asked if I wanted the piece framed and so I agreed to it but was not shown any frames. If I chose not to frame the artwork, the cost to ship it to me in a tube container would only cost $35.00. I was told by the art auction representative (Jones) that framing would cost me $350.00 for a total of $412.75, which seemed very high to me. I Googled framing costs for my size artwork while Jones wrote up the invoice and found that it would cost approximately $150.00 from a national art supply/framing store. After receiving the invoice, I saw that the framing cost was only $150.00, and that shipping was $179.00 through FedEx! When I returned to my stateroom, I began to have doubts about this purchase. I looked at the Better Business Bureau rating for Park West Art Gallery (D+) and Yelp reviews (mostly 2-star reviews). I went back to the art gallery the next day and asked to not have it framed and ship it to me in a tube. The art auctioneer asked me why I changed my mind and so I told him that I did not want to pay $179.00 for shipping. He reluctantly credited me the difference and charged me $109.38 instead. I looked at my cruise credit account daily to check if I received the new price for the artwork. The new reduced charge did not appear on my cruise account until the last night of the cruise. I had to repeatedly go back to the art gallery and to Guest Services to ask about when I would receive the new reduced charge. Guest Services called the art gallery on the last night of the cruise to ask when my account would show the new reduced charge. I was then worried that I would not receive the artwork, however, it did arrive on March 4th delivered by FedEx. A caveat, the artwork is not a one-of-a-kind painting, it is a lithograph where a design is drawn onto a prepared metal plate and affixed by means of a chemical reaction. Bottom line is that I feel that Park West is a shady operation, the workers do not tell the truth about framing and shipping costs and the invoices do say "All Sales are Final". I am glad that I did get the lower cost to ship the artwork. I do not think that Park West is selling any one-of-a-kind paintings. During the auction, the auctioneer appeared to recognize bids from the audience but when I turned to look at the rest of the audience, many passengers had already left the art auction. I do not think that there was much actual bidding going on. Bottom line is BUYERS BEWARE!!

Yelp
I have purchased arts from them several times on cruises. We bought a couple pieces on our last cruise in November. one was a carry off piece, well, when we went to the gallery that morning of debarkation, no one was in the gallery. finally found someone and he had to call someone. they did not have the piece packaged up and we had to leave the ship! he did get it packaged up in time. when I called about my second piece 13 weeks after the ,which was to be here in 8 - 12 weeks, they found the piece still on the ship! coming into week 16 and I still don't have the piece! While I was asking where that piece was, they asked me about the first piece, and were going to try and locate that one. Ah, it was a carry off, and the art staff did not even know about it. Guess I could not have said I got it and let find it, but I did not. that whole art staff was a hot mess and I will not from park west again. The customer service staff is a joke filled with empty promises since I don't have my piece as they promised 3 weeks ago! I'm now stuck because they have a " all sales are final" statement so I can't even get a refund though I don't have my art! What a shit show!

Yelp
We purchased 4 paintings on a cruise, never again. Delivery was requested after 4/26 We get notified they are arriving April 5 fortunately they were able to change for after April 26 Now we get notified of 3 separate delivery dates meaning we have to stay home on 3 separate days which for medical reasons is not possible Buyer beware the sales rep will tell you what you want to hear to make the sale Trying to arrange one delivery was impossible Told to reach out to fedex, humans dont answer and the recording couldn't answer my question Most of the interactions with client services was respectful but they cant help as fedex is now in control Hopefully this will work out Cruise rep never offered appointment delivery said no worries

Yelp
I recently purchased two Peter Max paintings from Park West Galleries while aboard a cruise to Alaska. I was told I was purchasing an original Peter Max painting as well as an original signed limited edition print. I paid what appears to be an above market price for both pieces. I am told that the original painting was painted in 2018 and I am skeptical that Peter Max painted the painting due to his mental incapacity at that time. I requested an immediate refund when I returned from the cruise but I was told that "All Sales Are Final". I am extremely disappointed in the way innocent folks like myself are mislead and deceived by this practice of selling art on cruise ships. Park West Galleries apparently are on hundreds of cruise ships selling art at above market prices. I suggest anyone reading this post should do internet research prior to purchasing anything from Park West Galleries.

Yelp
There is a reason why Park West auctioneers say over and over again "Buy what you like!" It is because they are not making claims that this art is worth what you are paying nor are they predicting any art to appreciate in value. Will some art appreciate? Of course. Will some be over-hyped? Absolutely. I have been purchasing from Park West for over 20 years through on-land auctions, special weekend getaway events, their new weekend online auctions, and (yes) even the occasional cruise auction. Have I purchased at some great prices; I certainly have. Have I purchased art that I enjoy; Absolutely! Have I seen people, over and over again, get caught up in the excitement and hype....I can't begin to count how many times I have seen that happen over and over! Yes, Peter Max is a leading world-class artist, but his work is available for significantly less than the prices Park West sets for his work. The same with many of their other artists who are under contract with Park West. If you are partial to a special artist, whether it is a Dali, Tarkay, or other master-artist, look around at other nationally recognized art auctioneers (online or not), and you will certainly see price differences. If you are looking for an artist that is "exclusive" to Park West, you will even find that artist in many places when people resell (and people often resell!). I have ALOT of Park West artwork in my collection but I did not buy most of them from PW.... I got them on the secondary auction market for (literally) pennies on the dollar of what PW asks for (their cruise labels still on the back of the frame). If you actually attend a physical gallery auction and a PW artwork comes up for auction, it isn't uncommon to hear an auctioneer say "Oh look; someone went on a cruise!". I AM NOT saying that Park West art is bad or not worthwhile. I just suggest that, just as you would buying a car or a significant purchase, don't get caught in the hype or rhetoric; pull out your phone and use some of those "free internet cruise minutes" to Google the artist! You may find that a new and upcoming artist is an excellent price (or someone that PW is just getting rid of inventory)... in other words "Buy what you like!" :-)

Yelp
Went on cruise in October. Purchased over 6k in paintings. Finally received half of order 3 months later. Still waiting on the 2nd half. It's been 3.5 months. The art has been sent out twice now for delivery and always sent back to Florida from our shipping hub "East Point" here in GA. We told them not to use FedEx... but of course, they didn't listen. Getting ready to cancel our payment on it through Amex.

Yelp
BUYER BEWARE! Park West is not a trustworthy, consumer friendly company. It's been over a year since I lodged a complaint with Park West about my Britto elephant. Here's the short story: I was so excited about my purchase that I decided to carry it off the ship. PW packaged it for the trip. When I went to the gallery to pick it up, one of the people who packed it took my aside and told me if there were any problems with it that I should just call PW and they'd take care of it. This made me suspicious. I decided to take pictures of the packaging when I got home just in case (as I didn't have anything to repackage it with on the ship). I opened the box when I got home to find stained pillows were used to pack it. Then I noticed the scratch! The scratch lined up perfectly with the "handle" PW cut into the box to make it "easier" to carry. I called PW and told them I wanted would keep the elephant if given a substantial discount. They were willing to replace it, but I wanted "my" elephant or a refund. This went on for a VERY long time. It took me posting the story online to get any response from them. They finally agreed to refund my money, but I had to remove all my posts. Other people who had dealt with PW said not to remove the posts until the deal was complete. I should have listened. PW sent me a release/settlement agreement for less than what I paid. I was also required to pay for return shipping if I wanted the piece insured. They told me if it was damaged on the way back, I was responsible. When I wrote back and questioned the release/settlement agreement - THEY GHOSTED ME! Next stop is the Better Business Bureau.

Yelp
Great business! I ordered my first piece of art online from them not too long ago. I will definitely be going back to them for more pieces. If you haven't done so already I'd absolutely recommend walking through their art gallery at this Southfield location.

Yelp
Have purchased over $50k over 4 years with most at VIP events. I have had 3 very negative experiences when Park West has made errors or did not meet terms of their contract, required to be signed anytime art is purchased. The first time it took 4 months, I spoke with 17 different people, was ghosted by the Client Services manager for 10 days before I wrote a negative BBB review, then contacted within the hour. The past 3 weeks I was dealing with an error again. Spoke with 6 in Client Services, had emails from 4 and nothing was addressed until a negative review. Both of these times I was contacted and told the situation was their fault and they took responsibility. Then, both times, they asked me to remove my reviews for them to resolve my issues. Why do I have to do anything for them to correct their error. Park West's customer service is the worst of any company I have ever dealt with that sells luxury items.

Yelp
I participated in a Park West Auction on a cruise ship - BIG MISTAKE! I was informed that I was getting a FREE layaway. On the last night when settling everything the printer went down. A month later I was finally able to get my paperwork and it was NOT a free layaway but a credit term. This is not what I agreed to. I spoke to a Supervisor that day and cancelled. I have been told several times working on a refund to me. Today I found out they are offering me a credit to them. I don't want a credit but the refund. I would not trust them.

Yelp
On a cruise in June I purchased several pieces of art and to date I am still waiting for some of the art. When I called they told me to read the contract as sculptures can take more than 16 weeks. Why not just tell the buyer that instead of expecting them to read through the contract. To date 6 months later they still have no idea when the art will get produced. Why sell it if you can't get it. The only upside is they haven't charged for it yet. Additionally, I was charged twice for shipping on a piece and back in August asked for a refund which they said they would give (I even have an email). They said it takes 2-3 months to issue it, why in this day and age does it take more than 24 hours is beyond me. It's now over 3 months and still no refund. I call and they say that the refund was issued a month after the email I received. It's sad how bad they are at customer service. The phone reps have no power and can only read from a script. They never follow up and even if they did it's nothing more than more garbage. I have been a long time customer, but never again. From all the poor reviews I've read it seems I'm not alone and that their poor service and product has taken hold. Stay away if you know what's good for you.

Yelp
Please do you research before you purchase any art from Parkwest . I was sold a $6,000 painting and was told it was a 1 of 1 . I later found out that it's a mixed media and they're several others out there that look just like mines , which takes away the value tremendously. Before you purchase an item from them , please get it in writing Thats it's an original 1 of painting. You don't want to make the same mistake as me.

Yelp
We purchased art onboard a Royal Caribbean ship from Park West. It was to be delivered by Fedex. On the day of delivery, the item was lost. We contacted Fedex with no luck. We then contacted Park West. After some time, we received an email from Park West stating Fedex will retrieve the lost item from where it was delivered in error. It never happened. Now Park West tells us that all sales are final. In short, we are out of luck. I should point out that after the auction, when we went to pay, we were given a price that was higher than our bid. After some talk, the price was reduced to what was originally agreed.

Yelp
Spent 2 plus hours of time at an auction. Won the raffle. Was not given free art for attending or the raffle prize. Instead; they had us come to "pick up the free prize" which they didn't have on the ship. Expected us to pay for then to ship us the prize and proceeded to try and sell us multiple art items we had absolutely no interest in. Horrible people and customer service has not helped me after calling several times. Disappointing that their reputation seems to be accurate. This is just my experience and opinion.

Yelp
The art auctions were the highlight of my recent Alaska cruise experience (http://www.yelp.com/biz/celebrity-cruises-seattle?hrid=HLZ-i4Oy0Zw2HStmXDuRxg). A married dutch couple ran the auctions (Van den Merwe), not only so nice and wonderfully pleasant, they were super knowledgeable and their passion for art was truly infectious. I won a $500 certificate, and ended up buying 4 framed pieces, and 1 rolled photo for just north of $2k. They arrived via post one at a time, 3-7 weeks later. Why not 5 star? $69 per piece shipping. Why couldn't multiple pieces been shipped together for a huge $200+ savings! But, they were packed incredibly well...and having the pieces delivered and hung on my wall...give me much satisfaction. I am elated with my artwork!

Yelp
Run don't walk to his hidden gem. Well it's not that hidden, it's been in Southfield Michigan for 50 years. This beautiful and amazing gallery/museum is a must see. It contains so many amazing works of art from some of the greatest artists ever known. Like Goya, Picasso and Rembrandt, just to name a few. I can't wait to go back, there is so much to see it's hard to do in one trip. They also have local artists featured and works of art for sale. Also did I mention it's FREE! It's a great place to go on a date!
