On the Grid : Wuhlheide

"Wuhlheide is an urban forest that still serves as a drinking water resort. It is a popular spot for runners, hikers and families. One part of the Wuhlheide is the FEZ where you can find a theater, a swimming hall and many playgrounds for kids. In the summer there are various concerts at the open air stage “Kindl-Bühne”." - sehen & ernten

Very good sound but poor toilets system

One of the last real Berlin places: all done by a friendly community. Great skate Parcours and ramps, nice outside areas for having a nice drink from the bar or grabbing some of the food - for very fair prices.

Fantastic outdoor arena for medium - large scale music gigs. It’s for sure on the commercial side. But it’s a great venue. A bit of a stretch on the edge of the city limits of Berlin. But wonderful during the summer. Terrible parking situation. No real onsite parking which is odd. So carpool or similar. Worth the way out there though! So WuTang and NAS. 🎤😎

i went to the parkbühnr wuhlheide yesterday evening to attend the gorillaz concert. It is easily reached with the s-bahn which is very convenient for ppl who come from charlottenburg or other districts nearby. The parkbühne already has it in its name, it is in a park. You’ll walk through some greenery and eventually you‘ll see the open stage. There is enough space for everyone to find a place - obviously if you wish to be in the front it’ll be a lil bit cozier and therefore sweatier. The sound quality was bomb and everyone was having a good time. Sadly, it was so overpriced. 5€ for bags, 9€ for longdrinks and 5,50€ for mineral water.

Their events always create problems for local residents. Thousands of visitors who come almost exclusively by cars (carbrains can't use S-Bahn or trams which are right there - who could've thought?!), cars take all the streets in 2km radius, often blocking no-parking zones, sidewalks, crosswalks... Trams go half-empty even right after the events. Also, as they have literally no infrastucture whatsoever - the congestion often leaves the whole Schöneweide without internet for 4-6 hours per day. Of course they coundn't care less about providing a good WiFi or an additional 4G/5G tower for such huge events... I'm pretty sure they get a lot of profit with these open-airs with tickets for about 100 EUR each. Sadly, at the expense of local residents.

Great organisation & atmosphere. There was several stands to get drinks and food from. The audio setup could be better but overall it's a great place for a summer open air concert.

Great place for open air concerts with a permanent tent for the stage. The amphitheatre has benches for the audience and stands on the Arena Floor, so that location is called: the little sister of Waldbühne. Short ways to catering and toilets creates a good atmosphere at the venue. Problem of the venue is the age: the steps to the amphitheatre could be a problem for elderly or handicapped people, because they have different heights. Toilets for men are easy; for women the obligatory queue up or the intrim Dixi toilets; not really a great experience for the ladies. Therefore 4of5 stars.

Saw the Wu-Tang Clan at this stadium, alongside Public Enemy and De La Soul. Perfect for summer outdoor concerts!

Yelp
I docked a point for RIDICULOUS concession prices and overall chaotic mess of people oh well, it was RADIOHEAD!!!! I didn't mind the negatives, I just didn't buy anything or move once we found our seats. hehe I'm a purist. Aside from being the sickest concert ever, I will say that the lighting and stage setup (yes also done by people with the band, but is subject to the capabilities of the venue) was so sweet. They put on a truly professional show, in grand fashion. The four stars mainly point to the lighting/stage setup, my memories of the concert, and the fact that BIG names come here, so therefore it obviously garners some respect for being able to handle the capacity and show requirements. I will also say that being out in the foresty area with greenery and fresh air was a welcome atmosphere coming from the big city of Berlin. Just an overall great location and vibe here. RECOMMENDED, see if your favorite band is playing here, and come early to grab yourself a good seat!!!!

Yelp
On a whim a couple of months ago, when i couldn't get Faith No More tickets for Brixton, I bought some for the gig in Berlin instead. As you do. As it turned out, it was the best thing I've ever done. This venue is fantastic. Great stage, great sound, brilliant seating with a perfect view of the stage (I've injured my foot, so that's where I should have been, of course I was in the crowd moshing away). What struck me was the friendliness. Everyone is friendly. You know when you go to an outdoor gig in the UK and the queue for the bar is a mile long? It doesn't happen here. They don't care about the drinking. They've also got a nifty little system where you pay a deposit for the glass. That'll stop you throwing them about the place. Very clever. I have no idea what this place is used for in Winter, but if you get the chance to go hear, do. Not just to see wonderful aging rockbands, but to see anyone. Best gig I've ever been to.
