Parkhotel Margna (Sils Maria, Swiss Alps) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Parkhotel Margna is about as Swiss as it gets: set between two Alpine lakes in the tiny village of Sils Baselgia, it occupies a former villa belonging to a patrician confectioner with panoramic views of the Albula Alps. Painstaking renovations preserved the charming facade and tranquil gardens, adding a boutique gift shop and three-story spa for good measure. Wood-forward rooms nod to both classic chalet décor and spacious, open-plan contemporary sensibilities." - Tablet Hotels

What an outstanding hotel. The facilities are beautiful, the staff is exceptionally attentive, and the bar and restaurant are simply delightful. I can't wait to return and hope to bring more friends and family with me!

This was our first visit to the Sils area. The hotel was superb with well-equipped immaculate rooms. The food was great (we opted for half board and enjoyed a varied four course meal each day), with our Coeliac daughter well catered for without fuss. Excellent but unpretentious friendly service. Has the air of a family run hotel. Best hotel we’ve experienced in Switzerland. We plan to return!

I visited the Margna some forty years ago. The service, excellent food, superb service and all around cozy atmosphere has not changed an iota. Not inexpensive, but worth a stay to relax and enjoy the wonderful setting. Daily strolls or hiking accompanied by the stops at the fabulous local cafés for pastry.

This amazing resort in Sils-Engadin, Switzerland, and the beauty surrounding it, were possibly the best vacation spot we've visited. The service was impeccable, and the food from fresh, homemade bread and jam, and all the morning goodies, to dinners that were incredible and truly created for everyone's palate. We spent my birthday and New Years Eve at Park Hotel Margna, and could not have made a better choice. The owner greeted us when we arrived, had a gift of homemade jelly delivered to our room on my birthday, and always went above and beyond right up to the day we checked out. The special News Years Eve dinner at the resort was "over the top" amazing. After walking through a "slice of Heaven" in the little town of Sils, we would end the day with a nightcap and glorious music in the piano bar at the resort. There are gift shops, bakeries, cross-country skiing, walking paths, horse-drawn sleigh rides, and a lake within walking distance of the resort. The mountain views are breathtaking, and so hard to put into words. What an outstanding place to visit...if in Switzerland and St. Moritz, you must stay at the Park Hotel Margna. Absolutely incredible!!

This is a fantastic hotel. It is hard for me to believe this is not the #1 hotel in Sils on TripAdvisor.||We had seen an article in the Wall Street Journal about visiting Sils and staying in the Waldhaus, a large and classic grand old hotel. By the time we made our arrangements, there were no openings at the Waldhaus, and we landed on the Parkhotel Margna. Boy, are we glad things worked out that way! We went up to the Waldhaus for cocktails and dinner while we were in Sils to get some idea of what it was like. We were very happy to get back to Parkhotel Margna. The Waldhaus was almost like a museum, a grand old hotel keeping up its traditions, and one had the feeling that many of the families staying there had been coming back for years, even generations. On the other hand, the Parkhotel Margna was recently renovated (early in COVID) and kept a lot of its charm but has a very, very clean, modern feel. Hotel Margna is a very luxurious hotel but in a very modern and welcome way, and is in no way stuffy. It was definitely the better choice for us.||Our room had a lot of inlaid wood and wonderful views. The WC (toilet and small sink) was in a separate room from the shower and main sink, which is always nice. The toilet itself is worth mentioning, as it was one of those Japanese multifunction electronic combinations toilet / bidets. You don’t know what you’ve been missing until you try one.||We had a lovely view of the mountains from our room (check out the photo). While on the map it appears the hotel is a little distance from the town, in fact the walk is very flat and easy. (In contrast, the Waldhaus, while closer, is up a steep windy street that can be concerning to walk at night.)||And, a word about the self-park garage, built under a field so as not to disturb the view, and connected to the hotel underground. OMG, I don’t think I’ve ever been in such a clean garage. Perhaps only Jay Leno has a garage to rival it. It was absolutely spotless, freshly painted, and even had art hanging on the walls!||Breakfast was wonderful, with very fresh bread and so many other choices, and they were happy to make eggs for you. We also had a wonderful traditional dinner in the Stuva, and had drinks a couple of times in the hotel bar, which had a live keyboardist.||Most of the hotel guests were European (not American, as we are). We were there the first week in September with another couple, for just a couple of days of seeing the mountains. It was a wonderful time to be there.||It took me a few months to write this review as I wanted to be sure I had time to do this establishment justice. For anyone thinking of staying anywhere in the Engadin, I would strongly recommend you consider the Parkhotel Margna.

A very nicely renovated house with great design details and very cozy atmosphere. Rooms are partly newly renovated. We had one of the older rooms which unfortunately had a very uncomfortable bed and very dry air, albeit still nice inside with lovely views. Welcome was very friendly for what was our first stay, unfortunately goodbye not so much (impersonal, not asked if we enjoyed the stay, had to ask twice for help with our luggage) - shame! Restaurant is of good quality and service. We went a la carte and concluded most of the effort went into the dishes from the daily menu, so half board is probably the best option unless you want to eat flexibly in the area. Lovely bar with fireplace and live music. Overall it was a very pleasant experience and are definitely thinking of returning to Margna next time we are in Sils.

Stayed there for a week and got to know it all. Got an old room for a high price even for CH a nice bar with fireplaces and smoking room for cigar fans. The Spa is way too small for a hotel this size. Good restaurant recommended for dinner. Overall a quiet and calm environment.

Ladies ski weekend would not be the same without the amazing Hotel Park Margna. All from check in to check out was smooth sailing. The devils is in the detail and this place nailed it. We felt welcomed from the moment we entered the hotel, our room was huge, with heated floors, two balconies, cleaning service 2x a day. Life pianist both during breakfast and dinner. Great breakfast including juicer station where you can pick your own veggies and fruits and do fresh right on the spot it just one of those little things that breaks this place apart from other places I have been too. Very warm, always smiling, welcoming stuff from cleaning ladies, to waitresses to the managers. There is nothing negative. Cant wait to come back. Can only recommend it to everybody although I wish this would be my little secret :) When visiting St Moritz region this is the place to be.
