Parkhotel Schoenegg

A fantastic stay at this hotel. It started with the pickup from the railway station which is only 10 minutes away but we were grateful for it after a days travelling. The reception staff were friendly, helpful and assisted us every time we asked for assistance, booking trips to Grindelwald First and getting us connected to the local wifi after having difficulty in doing so. The restaurant staff are top class we had a very friendly greeting and were given a table with a view of the mountains for the time we were there. the waiters, waitresses at evening mealand breakfast were superb as was the food and the choices at breakfast. The room was adequate and kept spotlessly clean. |I would recommend this hotel for it's staff, friendliness, cleanliness, food, rooms and it's position in the village, everything really.

Great hotel! The staff was friendly. The breakfasts were included and great- but they don’t start until 7am if you have early departures. The rooms were small but super clean. The beds had good mattresses. The only complaint was the shower- the shower head was very low and ours didn’t work well (would not stay raised). The room also did not have ac and we were just instructed to open the balcony door. Not a big deal but something to note. Overall it was a very good experience!

Excellent place to live in Grindelwald. They provide pick and drop facility for luggage to and from Grindelwald train station. Location is just amazing as we can see Alps right from our hotel. Service and courtesy is also great. Very close to train station as well (about 5-7 mins walk).

Only word I can think of is 'AMAZING', the staff are the most welcoming, friendly, helpful, and accommodating I have ever come across, and have been to many Hotels, this one beats the rest hands down, rooms were lovely, food was excellent, situated in a great central location, the greeter Manuel was the most hospitable member of staff who couldn't do enough for you when you entered the restaurant for breakfast and evening meals, Mica our waitress was friendly and attentive, again nothing was too much trouble for them, all the waiters/waitresses were fabulous. Wouldn't normally go back to the same place as like to try different areas & places but would definitely return due to the family run business and the lovely people they have working for them, I can think of quite a few hotels who's staff would benefit from a stay here, I would.also like to mention Sven who I think was the owner, he again was helpful, friendly and accommodating. Excellent, do go if you are undecided, you won't regret it.

Rooms were ok but I do wish there was climate control in the room and a working heater in the bathroom. When wife and I arrived and for the first few days, it was rainy and fairly warm (wife and I also sleep 'hot'). While we did open the door to get fresh air inside, a cooler room would have been most welcome. The bathroom didnhave one of those water / tube (towel?) heaters but it too was not working. I was told it turns on only when it is sufficiently cold outside. While neither are deal breakers and we don't regret our stay, it would have been nice, especially the heater in the bathroom to dry our cloths which had gotten wet from all the rain. The hotel does provide laundry service for a surcharge if needed. Lastly, want to compliment their good breakfast. They had a fairly large selection of breakfast items and the staff were pleasant.

We stayed here after doing no research about this place and I can’t believe how lucky we are! The price is beyond reasonable, the rooms are really clean and comfortable and the staff were so helpful to us in planning different adventures and journeys in and out of the village. It’s super easy to get to the trains but you’re also removed from the crowds and chaos. Across the street from the one fun bar in town and an easy walk to all the restaurants. I highly recommend basing out of Grindelwald and staying here!

A rescheduled holiday from last year meant two weeks for us winter hiking. We know the region well and were delighted to return to the Schoenegg. Very happy time and great for relaxation. Lovely team and good food. Our room was comfortable and despite the time of year balcony used! We wish the new management team, the fifth generation of the family owners, every success.

Great hotel for the money, really recommend! I enjoy places that are family run, where people work with love and pleasure and make us cozy. This is such a place, the whole hotel team were friendly and helpful. The room was big and clean, they also organised our stuff every day. Swimming pool with jacuzzi and two saunas with a good resting room where you can have water and fruits. Breakfast buffet was one of the best I had in Switzerland, several options of cheese, bread, dried ham, bread and etc. Good coffee machine also. Dinner with a salad’s buffet and freshly made dishes with 3 different options for the main menu. The location is pretty good, really near First station and sports shops. There is also a nice bar with homemade chips available for free. Enjoyed also the decoration and history of this place, will sure return whenever possible.
