Was a good first experience in a historic hotel in the black forest. We stayed in a family room for 4 people and had 2 dogs with us. At the hotel there is plenty of parking, a sauna area with a pool, a restraunt with bar, and everything is close together. Hotel is also kid friendly! Staff was super friendly and helpful! Hotel is located in middle of town close to all attractions. A few things that I did not like or could have been better are: 1. Room could have had a/c or screens on windows to alow for fresh or cold air without the bugs 2. Spa and pool was open, but sauna was not on or open during listed times and someone pulled all the light from pool leaving electric cables exposed around the pool. 3. The breakfast selection was nothing to be excited for. 30 min into breakfast selection was limited. Buffet was a good start but no real selection of fruits, or other breakfast foods. 4. Some other minor issues, but staf was able to solve quickly. Thanks for the stay and we look forward to the changes made before our next stay!

It only gets 4 stars for the wonderful young people who served us. The Hotel is located in the central part of the town and has some beautiful features. It’s important to mention that the staff was so so lovely, very friendly and hardworking. As for management, we are not so sure. Beautiful place but needs a little bit more ‚love‘. It’s outdated and ready for some refurbishment. The spa area is lovely and we enjoyed it very much. Also the breakfast was very good, dinner the best we had in town (avoid the well rated pizza place ;). It would also be nice to be offered help with our luggage, the hotel will be not suitable for you if you are disabled or need the elevator. Overall a nice hotel but will not be going back.

Excellent old hotel located in a beautiful Black Forest town of Triberg. We got a wonderful large room with a larger bathroom including a jacuzzi bath in the main building. Awesome. The hotel has a great Wellness and Spa area, well designed and all in perfect operational order. Sauna land area is only allowed to be unclothed. Great pool, jacuzzi, many dry and wet saunas, resting area on water beds. Great. We stayed for 3D/2N and booked on H/B. Food served in the dining room is a foodie paradise and the restaurant designs from old to old/modern mixed is really a perfect place for a great meal. Very romantic. Well known guests how have stayed are Napoleon Bonaparte and Ernest Hemingway. We will come back

An excellent place to stay at in this small town. Cozy rooms, food at breakfasts is great, good location. Special thanks to the staff, extremely helpful! We needed some hot water late at night twice, they were very nice to get it for us. The only downside is that they don't have an elevator. Otherwise, this is a perfect place. Highly recommend!

Very nice place with large rooms and private guest parking. Enjoy the bar and restaurant at hotel or several other locations within walking distance to widen your selection. Spa and pool help relax the body after a walk to Germany's largest water fall(free to hotel guests) or a few hours of climbing in the trees on a recreational rope obstacle course 15 meters in the air.

This hotel IS NOT worthy of its 4-star rating or the price. The hotel clerk was incredibly rude and unhelpful, and the bathroom had mildew and was unsanitary -- as evidenced by the feces and urine stains left on the toilet by a previous room occupant. When I complained about the toilet, they sent up a maid to clean it, and declined to offer any compensation or even an apology. Service at dinner and breakfast was also very slow -- for example, my glass of wine didn't arrive until I was halfway through the first course and I'd asked for it 3 times. In this day of COVID, this hotel DOES NOT take cleanliness seriously. Stay here only at your own risk!

The hotel itself was nice. I think we were in the guest house portion of it, and the room was ikea decorated with a pinecone theme... My toddler found the pine cone lamp disturbing. The breakfast was very nice and we were given passes that got us into the Triberg falls for free, so I think the cost was worth it. They provided a portable crib and bedding for our toddler, however the crib we had kept falling apart when my daughter leaned on the edge. Probably a unique incident.

If you love 19th century decor and history with outstanding service and amenities, then do not pass on the Parkhotel Wehrle! Staff are most helpful and location cannot be beat. From a food perspective, Anthony Bourdain's rule for not eating at the hotel restaurant definitely DOES NOT apply here. The dining room was fabulously decorated and the food was off the charts! Overall it is a gem in Triberg. Coming back when possible.
