I stayed at Parklands for two nights (Friday and Saturday) and would happily return, having secured an attractive rate for a smaller double. The hotel is about a 10–15 minute walk from Perth Theatre and the Concert Hall, with plenty of free parking on site.||My room was nicely decorated and appeared newly refurbished, with an en-suite walk-in rain shower and effective secondary glazing that kept out road noise. It was well equipped, with ample power sockets and a comfortable bed, though there was no fridge or mini-safe. My room was on the first floor with no lift access, so those with mobility issues may wish to request a ground-floor room.||Staff were pleasant, and Wi-Fi was fast throughout. I’ve reviewed the restaurant separately, bottom line is it was excellent for dinner. I didn’t try breakfast; continental and cooked options are priced separately, and you must choose cooked dishes the night before, which I find off-putting.||The only real disappointment was the lack of housekeeping, the bed wasn’t made and supplies weren’t replenished. Having to visit reception for coffee sachets felt more Travelodge than boutique. For a four-star hotel, that’s enough to lose them a star on my rating.||The bar and lounge were comfortable, with a good whisky selection and views over the garden. In summer, the terrace would be a lovely spot for evening drinks.
