Parknasilla Resort & Spa

Parknasilla has the most efficient staff we have ever come across.The lovely receptionist who greeted us on arrival . I don’t know her name but she was foreign and wore glasses. Victor the Hungarian Man who served us our lunch every day was a thorough gentleman and so helpful. In fact all the staff are a credit to the Hotel and made us feel very welcome. The scenery is just breathtaking and we had many walks around the grounds. We had a lovely suite which was spotless and of course a balcony. The Man serving in the bar was also excellent. The food was good and in the morning they had fresh grapefruit which was a bonus. Usually in most Hotels it is from a tin. The bedside lamps in our room were exquisite as were all the pictures and decorations. I had a massage from Racheal and it was superb. Things are very expensive especially lunch and treatments such as massages. I think if people are staying for 3 or 4 days a couple of little treats such as scones or biscuits should be left in their rooms. It’s a small gesture which would mean a lot. All in all we had a lovely stay and your staff are the very best.

We stayed in a family room which had a king size bed and separate second bedroom with twin beds. This worked great with our young kids. The decor was dated but everything was clean and tidy. The room was very spacious and each room has it's own TV which was handy. We stayed in summer and it was difficult to make the room dark as there was only blinds no curtains. Breakfast was lovely, staff were really fantastic, so friendly and accommodating. Lunch and dinner at the hotel were really great, beautiful setting, quality food and good service. We loved all the amenities like pools, play room, spa, playground and yoga classes etc. weather was great so we used the walkways, the little beach and sat out in the sun for dessert most evenings. The only negative was the noise of hotel bedroom doors, they were all on springs and constantly slamming shut which was difficult when trying to settle young kids to sleep. Would try the self catering houses next time for more peace as we really liked the resort

A short but memorable stay...enjoyed delicious food in Doolittle bar with cocktail 🍸 and music. Room while small was very adequate and staff are truly amazing. Breakfast options are simply amazing. Hotel was extremely busy but every guest matters. The Infinity pool is truly a wonderful way to both start and end the day.

This was my second time this year staying in Parknasilla and I will be back again in 2026, The staff go above and beyond, in all areas from check in at reception , the restaurants, evening and breakfast and the spa. The scenery is stunning, the hotel has wonderful charm for a building of its age and the rooms were spotless. Special mention to Lucy in the Spa and Trace I think his name was who was serving in the Pygmalion for breakfast. Both warm friendly and going out of their way to ensure a wonderful guest experience. We had wonderful food, prawns for starter, steak and lamb for mains and we all agreed they were delicious. The cocktails are a bit pricey at €17 each but they are delicious 😋

After a busy few months. My wife and I decided for a 3 night getaway to Parknasilla Hotel and Resort.||We arrived and receptionist was so pleasant and attentive. His name eludes me. But he was, top of his game.||We stayed in a sea view Manor room, and it was spotless and housekeeping was again excellent.||Straight to the outdoor hot tub. Im 53 year's of age and, sitting in the tub overlooking Kenmare Bay in any weather,is one of the most beautiful sights I have ever seen in our beautiful country. ||We dined for 3 nights, now I'm a fussy eater, I'd steak on night one,and chef's specials on the other nights, and it was absolutely delicious. My wifes fish dishes looked amazing, and she assured me all was top notch. Deserts are often a let down, but not at Parknasilla. We were blown away with the quality of what was on offer.||Breakfast again each morning was delicious and beautifully cooked to ordered. Coffee was great also.||We met the owls Rocky and Fatso and their Keeper. He was amazing letting all of us hold his beautiful birds, and explaining all about them.||Loula in the dining room was just amazing such a wonderful lady. Liam and Thomas in the bar, again excellent at what they do, always smiling and nothing was a bother to them. The Sommelier, I think he was from Hungary, again we enjoyed his knowledge.||The Resort is vast and we walked for hours. Rain didn't really bother us, knowing we could warm up in the tub for a half hour and go for a pint in the cozy bar by the fire.||Yah it's an old building with some creaky floors. But it is absolute Gem in our opinion.||On Check out, the receptionist asked did we have a good stay, and was everything to our satisfaction, which it was.||To all the staff, from reception, catering staff, servers, housekeeping, outdoor maintenance, a big thank you for making our time here so special.||One suggestion to management. It would be nice to see a little fridge in the rooms ||Will we return. Try and stop us.||This place is just AWESOME.||See all soon👌

we stayed for two nights, fire alarm went off 5 minutes after we walked in the room.|rooms were clean and old fashioned. there was a lake beside the hotel. walk trail was good. it was okay.

Hello to all the staff at Parknasilla that make the experience great each time. Myself and my partner stayed here for three nights in October. This is our ninth time here in two years The receptionists deserve all the praise in the world. Especially Cecile, she was great with every interaction. Thank you. |The food was hit and miss this time. On the first night the food was exceptional. The second night my curry came out Luke warm. The food on the third night was some of the best I've ever tasted. Unfortunately the breakfast on the final morning wasn't great. The sea bass was tiny, and tasted off. My partner had the eggs and salmon and the eggs were bland and clumped together. Anyway we say this with love that hopefully makes these minor things better. Overall guys thanks for a great time for our ninth time. ❤️

Me and my 12 year old son spent a long weekend here in early October, it was my 50th reunion for my veterinary class UCD 1975, we had traveled from Australia landing at Dublin airport 7:00AM, then we hired a car, and drove through storm Amy via Portumna ,limerick, Kenmare to Sneem, arriving at Parknasilla at 5:00pm,|Allocated beautiful bedroom with forest views and other rooms with ocean views, welcome drinks in lobby with open coal fire, great evening meal with local fare and produce on interesting menu in the pygmalion restaurant, an so it continued for the next three days, wonderful food ,comfortable room and absolutely stunning view, a wonderful cozy vibe throughout the resort with attentive and caring staff. My son Patrick loved all the swimming options, the abundant panoramic walking trails and the dining options. The resort also has a spa with a gym and thermal pool added to the stay. The breakfast service was superb with great food choices a walk to sneem for the “best fish and chips in Ireland” a great Guinness at the stone outside dan Murphys door pub, Other activities included kayaking and golf. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and we will return very soon.||Brian and Patrick Agnew

I was a big fan of this place- the grounds are magical, with a splendid setting right on the Atlantic ocean on 500 acres. They have 3 pools, a nice spa with free steam rooms and gym, ocean access (though bring a wet suit!), and two restaurants. I thought service was excellent, and the food in the restaurants was very good. They have a family room (king plus two twins) which was very reasonable and a great option for families. There's lots to do- a game room, tennis courts, walking trails, murder mystery, etc. We really enjoyed our stay, and it was the kid's favorite place in Ireland. Be aware though that the resort is historic, which some would perceive as dated. It's also off the beaten path, with most other dining options some drive away so plan on eating at the hotel a lot. My only other gripe would be that you have to make reservations for the pool, which is kind of a hassle.

Upsides: great location and facilities & grounds. Nice and very accommodating staff. Many guests were Irish families which added to the charm. Downsides: it's quite isolated so you can't walk to a local restaurant, pub, cafe etc. Also the majority of the restaurant and bar staff have a very loose grip on English and seem quite ill I formed about the food and drinks like where did the fish come from or what's a good local whiskey. The food itself was also pretty mediocre

I was concerned coming having not been back since 1979 the last time I visited Ireland. I was wrong to be concerned, the service was exemplary. The day I checked in my tv did not work & there was no heat in my room. I called the front desk at 8:30pm and someone was in my room within 5 minutes. They brought me a heater while they worked on the heating and brought a new cable box & restored the tv immediately. I woke up around 10pm turned off the heater and opened the windows because I was hot. Every employee I have come into contact with has been nice, accommodating and very social. What a great place to visit! I'm usually fairly conservative in spending on hotels, but this was well worth whatever the cost! Several family members have enjoyed the spa & scheduled additional treatments for before we leave tomorrow. Overall: well worth the cost of staying of staying here!

Awesome, awesome, AWESOME hotel. We arrived around 2pm and ate a small lunch in their bar room. Very good food but smaller portions. We were able to check out their workout room which is filled with ellipticals, treadmills, a cycle machine, free weights, and several weight machines. It was perfect! The hotel also includes a huge pool with a swim lane for those who want to swim laps. The only downside to the pool is that swim caps must be worn. The hotel sells them for 2 euros a person, but it seems kind of ridiculous. The spa is incredible. The two outdoor hot tubs were perfect after a long day of travel and exploring and offered a great view of the ocean. Inside the spa, several saunas with different aromatherapy options are offered for adults. The hiking trails around the hotel are great too and the golf course- even in March- is worth playing a few holes. We got our golf for free since the hotel was not prepared for people wanting to golf in such a rainy season but renting clubs, tees, and other golfing essentials, the price stays under €50. The rooms are very nice but our bed was rickety since a wheel was broken on one corner. Our toilet also stopped flushing in the middle of the night and we couldn't get it fixed until the next morning. Also- be sure to turn your air conditioning on before you go exploring or else your room will be sweltering when you come back. Overall great stay. Pretty expensive but dinner and breakfast are "included" and the other amenities are worth it. WiFi can be extremely spotty.

We stayed in the villas for one week and enjoyed our getaway. It's not so much about the resort itself as it is about the location and the grounds. The site is just beautiful. Outdoors, there are a number of trails and so many breathtaking views to take in if you love nature. As for the hotel itself, it has an old beauty and charm about it. I love the sitting rooms and enjoying a glass of port while listening to a pianist. The food quality is also excellent. And as for the spa, it is very inviting with an indoor pool and an outdoor hot tub and loads of other fun features to keep you busy on a rainy afternoon! The villas are up a path from the main building; but, they're lovely for families or a group of friends. We enjoyed staying in a two-story, three-bedroom villa with lovely views to take in from every window. And we walked to the main hotel for dinner which is so nice if it's warm and dry outside. There were a few hiccups when we arrived and we had to call the onsite maintenance crew a couple times; but, in the end it was enjoyable overall and a lovely getaway in spite of the rain... Note: The hotel has WIFI available but it's very spotty and not available in the villas. We had to pick up a signal by walking from room to room in the main hotel until we finally made a connection. But, hey, if you're there to get away, put the smart phone away too...!

Gorgeous and worth the trip. Pros: - Dennis the porter -- so helpful. - Caitlin at spa -- fabulous. - easy check in - lovely looking rooms - delicious food - cool bar!!! - Tomas in bar --- thank you for the chair issue - many sitting areas - huge indoor pool - great spa (see below for more) - includes breakfast - amazing views - set back and private - kid friendly -- but easy to find peace amongst them - easy parking - clean - beautiful place - check out 12 pm, reasonable. Can still use amenities Cons - no elevator to rooms (pack light) - blue light in bathroom looked like poltergeist - dinner ends at 9 - completely empty by 11 pm and slightly spooky if alone - expensive - windy (on ocean!) - paper thin walls (heard annoying ladies up til 3 am next door). Caitlin in spa did fabulous facial and body wrap. She explained everything and was very caring. Reviewed products at end. Comfort was 100%. Great spa rooms. Relaxing after spa meditation room and sauna with gorgeous views. Skipped the pool way too many children. Overall loved it. Pricey but I think worth it. Suggestions: - wash cloths in spa and sauna - cold water in spa and sauna - toiletries in dressing area (razor, lotion, soap) - separate kid area for dressing area

This review is specifically for the spa: I visited the spa with my best friend for multiple vacay de-stress treatments. Although the facility is lovely and modern, my experience was less than lovely. My treatment room was freezing. As I had a coconut scrub that required showering and then a massage, I spent two hours shivering. I did ask my therapist to increase the heat but the temperature never altered. My ice cold limbs and chattering teeth definitely detracted from my ZEN experience. After my treatments, I was eager to use the thermal spas and sauna. Unfortunately, two families with children were using the pool. One of the children was extremely loud and unsupervised. His mother clearly thought Junior's snot and poo-poo's should be bronzed and enshrined because she beamed at him while I was gritting my teeth from his nails-on-chalkboard like screeching. I alerted the staff about the Zen-shattering annoyance but they were as unresponsive as my deep-freeze therapist. My best friend had the Indian Head Massage and was completely disappointed. She said there was no massage in the Indian Head Massage, just a whole lot of oil slathering. When we spoke to the manager about the disappointing head massage she again shrugged it off. In an email later she conceded that "perhaps the brochure is misleading as it's not quite a massage." Again, lovely facilities but the flaccid staff and disappointing treatments make it not worth the Euros. Other comparable facilities offer more peace for your Peso, more calm for your cash.

Outside of Dublin, Kerry is easily my favourite county. It's simply stunning. I've stayed in several very nice hotels around the area in the last year or two and I think this might be my favourite. I was here for a wedding of a good friend, so I am a little biased but the hotel itself was fantastic. The grounds/walks on the coast are worth it alone. Staff, food and facilities were all excellent. Try the outdoor jacuzzi, brilliant. Price wise as well it is very affordable for what's on offer.

I loved the pub here. Their staff is so friendly and attentive. They take great care in making your cocktails. Everything was delicious. I got a crab and avocado salad and the crab portion was super generous and very tasty.

Parknasilla Resort & Spa is a great place to go for a fantastic break I enjoyed going here the staff there are fantastic and the surrounding places are great and always full of life! I would like to go here again though in the future it is a awesome break away to get pampered! I travel abit and right now I am in Dubai in a place called the Sapphire Villa and this is a beautiful Villa NOT TOOOO expensive and worth a look the villa is amazing check them out...
