I went in person to reception to enquire about a plane spotting package, mainly with the intention of viewing a room before booking. Kit was very accommodating and went above and beyond to satisfy my requests. I would not have booked a room had I been told “ check our website for details “ I wanted a personal experience. Ten out of ten Kit for your helpfulness and taking the time to help me choose a suitable room. Very much appreciated and I look forward to my stay next month in the Deluxe King Room. Nothing beats personal service.

We stayed here for one night, because of an early flight. Checking in was smooth, with very friendly staff. We had a king with a view of the runway, which is always fun when you’re staying at an airport. Spacious and comfortable room, with a bathroom with a separate shower and bath, and bathrobes and slippers. It offered a coffee machine and a kettle, which I always appreciate a lot. Everything was comfortable and well taken care of, and we were able to walk to the airport in 5 minutes or so. I have to say it was a bit noisier than I expected for an airport hotel. I was able to hear aircrafts take off, children running in the room above us and there were loud thuds from doors opening and closing in the hallway. We did have a good sleep though, and were able to get to the airport on time and well rested.

Look very comfortable with good rooms and good access to the airport, which is why we stayed there. The food in the restaurant is good but there was a mix up with the entrees and main course arriving at the same time. Nice wine list and good helpful staff

I booked a day use room with King Bed while waiting for my midnight flight. The hotel was just a stone’s throw away from Melbourne airport and it was accessible to get to as there was a connecting bridge from the airport. The room itself was clean and the bed was cozy. It had all amenities you need to relax and freshen up before a flight. I was able to use the gym and pool too. Check in was quick and easy so I was glad to get in as soon as possible. Would recommend staying there if you’re looking for a quick relaxation before or after a flight.

Handy to be able to exit the airport building and walk across the road. Arrived at 2am and just wanted a soft drink, man behind the desk said everything was obviously shut and we could get one from the mini bar. Well we couldn't because it was locked. WTH!!! Next morning young receptionist told us this information was on something we signed but who reads the fine print when you've been awake since 4 am and it's now 2am the next day? They lost brownie points there. Never had a bar fridge, in a room already paid for, locked!

I always look forward to staying at a Pan Pacific Hotel chain Hotel. Rooms are always nice and service has always been great. Unfortunately, this stay was disappointing. After checking in late I was looking forward to a bit of room service. I was told that the room service wait would be 45mins to 1 hour. I was happy with the wait. When the food finally arrived it was cold and tasteless. In the morning at 0600hrs I was woken by housekeeping vacuuming in the hallway. I tried to give some constructive feedback about both those issues when checking out, which fell on deaf ears. The lady behind the desk tried to tell me that housekeeping doesn't start until 0700hrs . My collogues were also woken by housekeeping. In regards to the room service food ,she told me we always give you a discount. I wasn't after a discount on the food, I would rather my room service food be hot on arrival .

The one thing I expect an airport hotel to get right is noise insulation from aircraft landing and taking off nearby, and on this metric Park Royal fails. The rooms are nice and recently refreshed, the check in staff are welcoming, the convenience to the terminal is good but the failure to insulate against aircraft noise means a 1 star rating. Will try the Holiday Inn next time, and whilst it’s a longer walk to the terminal would hope it would be quieter. If you have to stay at this hotel get a room east facing and bring your earplugs.

Upon checking-in, I was told that the hotel was not able to upgrade my room (part of the benefits as a Discovery Titanium member) and instead would issue me a $60 dining credit for the stay. Later, we went to get some desserts at the hotel restaurant (really delicious) which we thought would be covered by the dining credit.||Upon checking out, the staff attending to me had no idea about the dining credit and said she'd check with her manager and would deduct it from the final bill. We had a flight to catch and left, believing something this simple would be sorted out. Long story short, bill came and no dining credit. Got charged for everything anyway. Emailed them and no reply. Didn't pursue further as it wasn't a large amount but still this was a disappointing experience where they did not honour what they committed. So just beware of what they promise you upfront.||Other than that the hotel and room was lovely. Great proximity to the airport.

Yelp
I am writing on behalf of my 87 year old mother, Barbara. She was transiting through Melbourne airport on 29 NOV when her onward flight was cancelled. None of us live anywhere near Melbourne, so she was stranded and completely alone. She has limited mobility and requires assistance. Needless to say, we were beyond worried. I am so thankful we found the Parkroyal Melbourne Airport, and their wonderful team. We can't thank them enough for their kindness and professionalism. From the moment she was in their care she was safe, secure, comfortable and happy. Above and beyond doesn't even begin to describe the service they provided. They handled her bags, escorted her to her room, made sure she was comfortable, and arranged room service. Mum said the food was outstanding! She could not say enough good things about her experience, and the wonderful staff. And they helped her to her flight the next day! We can't thank the staff enough. It can be tough dealing with the public. Please know that your genuine care and kindness has a huge impact. This team deserves special recognition. On behalf of our entire family THANK YOU!

Yelp
This hotel is very convenient located right across from the airport. If you have a late arrival or an early departure, the location is ideal. The bed was comfortable and we didn't have any problem, tho they could definirely use some updates in their rooms especially for the price they charge.

Yelp
Great location as we wait for our morning flight to LA. My big problem is the sheets reek of chemical perfumes. It gives me a massive headache and I can't breathe. I don't know how I'll be able to sleep. No it is NOT what "clean" should smell like. It is just toxic nasty chemicals and NOT healthy. We are inundated with too many environmental poisons already. Hotel sheets should not be another cause of air pollution. We all have a right to breathe clean air. Are you listening Park Royal Melbourne Hotel?

Yelp
We stayed over for one night at the Parkroyal as our incoming flight to MEL was too late in the evening to catch an onward flight to Tasmania. The best thing about the hotel is its convenience to the terminal - it's literally right across the dropoff/pickup road, and on the way out the next morning, you can use the walkways that connect the parking garage below the hotel to the terminal directly. As such, it's a no-brainer to stay here if you have a quick layover and don't need to travel into Melbourne itself. Even though we got in relatively late - around 10:30-11 PM on Christmas Eve - the hotel staff were quick to check us in and get us to our room. The lobby is nice and spacious, and the decor is pretty straightforward otherwise. We had a view facing away from the terminal - so while we had the parking garage with a prominent view in front of us, you could also see the sunrise, with the city skyline in the distance...probably not the most important thing in the world, but it was nice to have something to observe when we woke up very early given our jetlag. Given the hours, I imagine there is a curfew on flights, which is why we heard no air traffic, but it seems like the hotel overall is well-insulated against noise from airplanes. The finishes in the room were pretty standard, but the bed was quite comfortable, and I appreciated a standalone shower that doesn't have the weird half-cutoff protector that showers in bathtubs in this part of the world sometimes have. The gym, which is one floor above the lobby level, is actually one of the better hotel fitness centers I have been to - it's very well-appointed, with lots of space, lots of weights, and plenty of machines and even equipment (like a weight bar that can have weights added on individually) that is a rarity elsewhere. That was nice to have access to for a 4 AM workout (the gym is 24/7). I'm not sure if plenty of folks really stay here beyond a night at a time, but the convenience and the amenities make it by far one of the better experiences at an airport hotel that I have had. If you need to stay near MEL, don't bother going any further away - the Parkroyal will have everything you need.

Yelp
Lovely Airport Hotel! Staff friendly and really helpful, our case was damaged, we had to buy a new one and they very kindly disposed of the old one for us! We had a room facing the runway, despite this there was no noise from the planes taking off and landing. Rooms exceptionally clean and comfortable.

Yelp
The Park Royal @ Melbourne airport has been a stop on both my overseas and most recent Tasmanian trip. They are one of the most convenient hotels to an airport in the country, though I do wish the walkways were closer to the elevator when you arrive of an evening in the cold... The staff are friendly, and the restaurant is certainly better than plane food so it's worth eating something before you take off on your next leg. The rooms are a good size, clean and well appointed. My only gripe is that at peak times check in & out is really slow as there are only two counters!

Yelp
Always happy to stay here on our way to ski fields. The food in Airo restaurant was so well cooked and presented. The room is spacious, modern, comfortable and clean.

Yelp
Travelers stay away. This hotel might be nice but they are low class in policies. So if you're like me and travel constantly all over the globe, but need to change hotels from time to time, never book here. The cancellation fee is equal to the cost of the room. I have added the to my never ever ever stay at this fucking place again list.

Yelp
I flew in late due to strong winds in Sydney disrupting flights around the country. Got upgraded to 914 a suite overlooking the airport. Automatic blinds in the living and dining room. There were two toilets. One in the bedroom & in the living room. Ample space. I went to the gym but didn't use the pool. The airport is on level 5 onwards in the car park. Just walk across the driveway in front of the airport. Good night sleep with earplugs. Couldn't hear any airplanes taking off or landing. After our meeting next day just walked across the road. Caught the flight home.

Yelp
I found this to be a surprisingly good hotel. I expected it to be a little downmarket, a bit noisy and a mediocre restaurant. Not so. The rooms are clean and quite, rather stylish in fact. The restaurant is very nice indeed with friendly and helpful staff. Except for the fact that it's in an airport, this place is one I would come back to if I had a layover.

Yelp
This is a really nice and clean airport hotel. There are huge and beds are really confortable. It is just across from the terminal. I would definitely recommend it If you have to spend the night at the airport.

Yelp
I was sad I only stayed here for one night ... didn't arrive til 1:30am and had to leave by 8 to catch my international flight ... so really I was there for a few hours, but they were amazing hours. comfy king bed, huge window with views of planes landing and taking off, heavy blackout blinds, and they left me a friggin gift bag! Like, no charge ... some waters, champagne, these yummy cookies, an eye pilllow and chocolates! some nice pick me ups for my long plane ride ahead. The breakfast included was awesome, tons of delish hot food and millions of different pastries. Wish I got to spend more time there!

Yelp
Avoid the Buffet Breakfast! The Hilton Melbourne Airport now known as the Parkroyal was always a welcome retreat from the hustle and bustle of Melbourne Airport, a quiet place to relax and reclaim one's self before heading across to the chaos that is any major airport. What once was an oasis is sadly little more than a holiday inn, the love and character that was once exuded by the staff seems to have disappeared. On this busy morning I chose to escape terminal 2 and have breakfast, a treat I was sure I deserved. What I stumbled upon left me cold and disappointed, what was once an award winning restaurant is now simply an unloved collection of buffet dishes with some very simple fair. Having eaten at this buffet before and in comparison to other leading Melbourne hotels I can simply say this does not deliver, there is nothing luxurious or compelling with what is on offer, a testament to this would be the shear lack of customers. No longer is there an egg station, or even a chef, grab a waitress and tell them if you want your eggs done anyway but scrambled and they will organise it for you. But what happened to the theatre of watching a chef make your omelette, of having a chat and saying exactly what you want in it, this has gone. Welcome the pancake machine, no seriously, press a button and out comes some of pancakes. Offcourse automation is a good thing, perhaps also get rid of staff and have the droid from the domain real estate advert welcome guests, at least somebody would welcome guests. What has gone is the passion, the passion for food, the passion for customers, the passion for success. Today it's an automatic toaster, automatic coffee machine, automatic pancake maker and a few warm dishes you would expect in any good 3 star hotel, but pay $35 and you simply expect more. In this day and age we expect fresh juice bars, a huge cold selection and artisan baked items not purchased from Woolworths. Today we expect more and today we should get more.
