PARKROYAL Penang Resort

I stayed here for two nights. The hotel’s pool connects directly to the beach, offering beautiful views. I booked a sea-view room, and the balcony overlooks the ocean—very relaxing. There are also plenty of good restaurants and night markets nearby. Housekeeping comes daily to clean the room and replace amenities. Using Grab to get to nearby attractions (like the Floating Mosque and Gurney Plaza) is fairly convenient. Although the room rate is on the higher side for George Town, I think it’s well worth it.

Nice resort with a few hiccups. Check-in was very slow and took forever (30mins+), only 2 counters operational upon arrival with 2 other staff not checking in anyone. There's no seating and it's not an air conditioned area. First and foremost, the hotel and rooms were very nice! The service provided by the staff was great as well! Unfortunately for us, our room's AC filter was filthy (see picture). My wife got sick and the reception was quite useless, they refused to cover the medical bill and suggested to escalate to their executive. It's the first time I've had to deal with a hotel executive (where's the common sense and employee empowerment?). The matter was dealt with the executive, the room was changed. The medical bill was covered. Unfortunately, we incurred loss of enjoyment so we didn't fully make use of all the amenities. Reception should be better trained in handling matters especially due to the hotel's own negligence. With that being said, it shouldn't detract others from booking at this hotel.

We had an amazing two week break at the ParkRoyal over Christmas. |The hotel was spotless, the grounds are beautiful and the staff can not do enough for you. The breakfast catered for all, complete with eggs to order, fresh pancakes, western food and a huge selection of Malay, sweet treats, fresh fruit etc etc - we ate like kings! Even our picky teenage daughter had plenty of choice. |The beach bar staff were great, with a massive special thank you to Haiqal and Fathur - they went out of their way to make our holiday extra special with their amazing service, attention to detail, learning our names and what we like to drink. The happy hour each evening was a highlight of our day, watching the sun disappear over the sea with a cocktail in hand. |Christmas was made special with lots of nice touches by the hotel. Although our children are older we enjoyed watching the little ones do a treasure hunt, the Christmas choir was a real treat, and the Christmas buffet was my favourite meal of the holiday. |I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending this hotel and would love to come back. |The only negative thing I would say is that it’s a shame that rubbish washes up on the beach - however this is as a result of people carelessly dumping their rubbish in the sea elsewhere, the tide brings the rubbish in. The hotel work hard to clean the beach daily so it is nice to walk along the beach. We avoided swimming in the sea due to the jellyfish and sting rays, but others were in the sea. |Thank you ParkRoyal for a wonderful Christmas, next time we would stay for New Year too as the set up looked amazing.

I rarely gave full stars.. but here it is. Love the location, far off from the hectic traffic of penang, but close enough to what really matters when you go for a holiday : relaxing vibe and tranquility. It is located next to batu ferringhi beach, so in the evening u can just stroll along the beach to where the stalls and fireshows at. The hotel itself is easily to spot, parking free. U will be greetef with welcome drinks before coming to your rooms. Our room was perfect, well lit, clean, everything in order. Room keeping came everyday. Gym is well equipped, and every equipment in working order. Breakfast has vast menu, all is simply delicious. Pool is kepy clean, love the 2 slides. Honestly i cant find any faults. Hoped to come here again!

We stayed at the ParkRoyal Resort for our school’s Sports Tour in Penang and it was absolutely perfect. I cannot commend the staff enough - they were incredible from the moment we arrived. Farris was exceptional in ensuring all our needs were met, displaying outstanding professionalism whilst feeling like a friend to our team. Liyana was incredibly helpful during the booking process. The whole Food and Beverage team were wonderful and so helpful during breakfast and dinner - which, by the way, was some of the best hotel buffet’s I’ve experienced! The hotel itself is great for kids - with beautiful pools, slides and a cinema room. The rooms are excellent too - very spacious and clean. We stayed here last year for our first tour and had a great experience, somehow it was even BETTER this time! We look forward to staying here again next year! Thank you!

Our stay at PARKROYAL Penang was overall a great experience. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and well maintained. The property itself is nice and offers a relaxed resort atmosphere. The gym is very well maintained, clean, and fully equipped, making it easy to keep up with workouts during the stay. Breakfast has a very wide variety of options. However, it might be better to reduce the variety and focus more on quality. One clear standout at breakfast is the coffee. The outdoor public areas and pool area are very pleasant, especially the swing area, which adds a nice touch and is great for relaxing. The beach bar team is extremely friendly, kind, and professional despite their little slow service at times. Food at the beach bar is decent, though the buffet is not recommended for the value you pay, even with the packages offered. The fresh seafood in particular was not fresh-smelling, and the overall quality was not very appealing. We found nearby beachside restaurants and cafés to be much cheaper and significantly more delicious. One thing worth highlighting is the service from the reservations team. We requested four rooms close to each other during the booking process, and they made it happen, which we truly appreciated. Overall, despite a few food-related drawbacks, our experience at PARKROYAL Penang was very enjoyable, and we would consider staying again. Bring mosquito repellant spray with you :)

We loved our recent 6 night stay at the PARKROYAL Penang. We booked the Premier Family Room which included a king and two king single beds, two bathrooms, separated sleeping zones and balcony with water views (room 617). The room was exactly like the images online and everything in very good condition. We are a family of two adults and a 12 year old. We were warmly welcomed on arrival and the staff were friendly throughout our stay, always acknowledging us in public areas. Housekeeping was excellent and the room spotlessly clean (I’m chronically OCD on cleaning), we really appreciated the generous free water bottles provided each day. This was very helpful. The grounds landscaping is stunning with loads of private pockets to find respite with the ocean view swing a lovely place to relax. Pool temperature was perfect but keep an eye out for the sneaky lizard that enjoys taking a swim with you. We rarely waited for service by the pool and the call buttons on the lounge tables were a great amenity, this enabled you to be looked after without going to the bar. Poolside food was fine and reasonable value. We also enjoyed the Italian restaurant and would recommend the lasagna and dessert sampler. Beach activities were easy to arrange and we had fun on a jet ski while we saw many others enjoying the parasailing and banana boat rides. Minutes walk to many local restaurants and markets, overall highly recommended.

Absolutely loved our stay at PARKROYAL Penang Resort! From the moment we arrived, the friendly and attentive staff made us feel welcome and well taken care of. The location right on Batu Ferringhi Beach is perfect — with easy access to the sand, sea, and the lively night market just steps away. Our room was clean, comfortable, and had a lovely view. The resort’s facilities are excellent, especially the two outdoor pools, the kids’ splash area, and the full-service spa. The variety of dining options, including restaurants, bars, and caes, gave us plenty of delicious choices throughout our stay. Highly recommended for families!
