We have stayed at many motels throughout our travels and usually they are just okay. This exceeded my expectations by leaps and bounds. We were on the second floor and while the rooms faced the outside, the door was very secure. The interior of the room was spotless and updated! I walked in and the room smelled clean and fresh - that rarely happens in a hotel or motel. The air conditioning worked more than well and the mattresses were comfy as well. At no time could we hear our neighbors or the parking lot. There was also a pool, but we did not use this in our time there.e

We had such a wonderful stay at Parkwood Lodge in Door County! From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with the warmest welcome — the staff was incredibly kind, friendly, and helpful throughout our entire stay.||Our room was spotless and cozy, and the lodge is in a fantastic location, close to so many great spots in Door County while still feeling peaceful and relaxing.||One of our favorite parts was the pool and hot tub area — so clean and well-maintained! They even have a convenient shower right off the pool/hot tub area so you can rinse off, which is such a thoughtful touch.||We couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay. We’re already looking forward to our next visit. Thank you, Parkwood Lodge, for making our trip so enjoyable!

Positive: Terrific motel, good price - very clean and well maintained. The staff is friendly and helpful. There is a play yard for kids, tennis and pickleball, pool, hot tub, and a fire pit. Really a nice spot to make your home base for a door county vacation. Negative: ""

This is a good place to stay if you are looking for reasonably priced rooms for family. It is just north of Fish Creek. Rooms are clean, comfortable, not fancy. Bed was comfortable |We were there doing hot, humid July . We did have a dehumidifier running in our room and I emptied it each day. We learned to prop a garbage can in the bathroom doorway, to keep down the humidity in there to keep the floor from being slick. |Has cool, hot tub, (chlorinated) tennis courts, basketball hoop, pool table, board games in the lobby. There is a small vending machine with snacks and drinks. |We had a handicap accessible kitchenette that was perfect. Very close parking spot, small fridge, (no freezer) small cooktop, basic kitchen accessories. They do “light housekeeping”. They changed our towels and gave us TP when we asked. I think you can ask for more?

Our room was clean and pleasant. The refrigerator in the room was surprisingly large. Everything worked well and it was nice to be able to open the window to a green field with bunnies and many types of birds. There are vintage arcades in the game room, which I didn't expect - that was fun. Don't play billiards!!! Their pool table is super tilted and all the balls roll to one side. They need to level it. We lost a dollar on that. Otherwise our stay was great.

Bed was comfortable. Room was clean. Staff was friendly. Although we didn't use the pool, hot tub, tennis or pickle ball courts - they were there and families would find them to be convenient. The two major issues were the hot water took forever to get hot, and the bathroom is so small the sink is not even in the bathroom, it is in the bedroom. For the price, it was an acceptable stay. If we were to travel to Fish Creek we would probably choose another location.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for a long weekend trip and it was a perfect place to stay! Great location and very clean. We loved the available amenities like the pickleball court and pool, though we did not go to the pool. A lamp didn’t work and Netflix wouldn’t work on the TV but very minor issues. Front desk was also super kind. Definitely recommend staying here!

We stayed 4 nights in Room 119 and had a concerning experience. The room smelled musty and moldy on arrival. For two days we tried to manage it ourselves (windows open, fan and AC on), but by day 3 our whole family woke up coughing, and I had headaches and a pins-and-needles sensation in my head. Staff was kind and brought a dehumidifier (which still read 67% humidity), and offered to spray the room. We were told we could check out early without penalty—but there were no vacancies nearby for a family of four, so we had to stay. When we looked more closely, we found DampRid containers under both beds, one with the mattress lining torn open to fit it. There were visible dark spots on the walls, water damage, rust by the fridge, and dirt under the bed and furniture. We paid nearly $900 for our stay and received only $37 back. That discount did not match the health risk or discomfort we experienced. We booked based on strong reviews, but what we found was poor air quality, questionable cleanliness, and a lack of transparency. Until the rooms are properly cleaned and remediated, I do not recommend this hotel.

Yelp
It was fine for a night's stay but I'm not sure if I would have wanted to stay longer. It might be better once the little one is older and can sleep in an actual bed. It was nice that the room had a small kitchenette with a cooktop and mini fridge, though we didn't use it during our short stay. It's also one of those types of rooms that doesn't have a sink in the bathroom--the sink is in the main room, so I guess if you're using it for cooking it's a dual-duty sink. There are some picnic tables--quite a few, actually--which is helpful since there's not much space to eat in the room if you have more than a couple people. It's very close to the main shopping area of Fish Creek, only a mile or two, but far enough away that you aren't right in the middle of the excitement.

Yelp
We've been staying here for several years when we ride in the Door County Century (DCC) bike ride. It's close to Fish Creek and all the shopping and restaurants. It's been updated over the years so it's clean and comfortable. They definitely need to upgrade the drapes so they are room darkening, some are pretty old and the light shows through. A cornice at the top would be nice to prevent light from the top too. The HVAC system usually isn't a problem but on this trip our room (116) had a very old system - looked like it was from the 1970's. The AC went on and off all night - no option to keep a steady fan on. The pool and hot tub are very nice and so relaxing after biking 100 miles! We will definitely stay here in the future, Lord willing we get to do the DCC again!

Great place to stay good rates and Carter of every action possible in door county I loved staying at this place service and cleanliness is so good and a place to cool And drive if that's your thing but so many amazing resturents around you guys should explore

Yelp
We had a king size bed in our room, which was very clean, along with two recliner chairs. The room was very spacious and comfortable. It also had a microwave and refrigerator. The pool is indoors and very clean. The room was quiet so you could not hear other guests in the motel. We would come back to this motel the next time we visit.

Yelp
I stayed here 10 years ago and again this summer, and I still highly recommend Parkwood Lodge for families visiting Door County. I booked adjoining rooms over the phone, which they were able to accommodate. Barb on the phone was super friendly and personable, which was typical of every interaction I had with staff. The rooms were perfectly clean and comfortable with the amenities we needed to do some basic cooking and make coffee in the morning. We enjoyed the updated and resurfaced recreation area, with new pickle ball courts, a tennis court, and a basketball court, and all the equipment you need to play them. Grandma enjoyed the walking trail through the woods and my daughter got to make S'mores in the fire pit. We also used the pool and hot tub, which were clean and maintained. The arcade is dated and some of the arcade games are a bit glitchy, but we definitely enjoyed the pool table. Of course, you don't come to Door County to hang out at the lodge, and Parkwood is centrally located to, well, everything. Peninsula State Park land is right across the road, and it is minutes from Fish Creek, Egg Harbor, Ephraim, and Bailey's Harbor. Compare the price anywhere in the area, like I did, and you'll realize this place is an awesome find.

Yelp
Perfect middle ground between feeling secluded in nature and being close to town for little adventures during our stay. The staff was cheerful and our room was cute and comfortable. I'll keep this place in mind for the next time I visit Door County!

Yelp
For booking a last minute trip to Door county in the prime season of summer there is not much availability in vacancy. It is not fancy, but it is a very family friendly place to stay. What I liked about this place is that the beds were actually comfortable which was important for all the hiking and biking we did on our trip. The location was perfect because it was only a 5 minutes drive from downtown Fish Creek and Peninsula State Park. The lodge had a large indoor pool and a hot tub which my kids enjoyed after our hikes/bike rides. The grounds are spacious, with a swingset and tennis court. They had coffee for the grown ups and a bunch of board games for the kids in the lobby where you check in. What I did not love was that the room did have a funny odor to it, it seemed to need a bit of updating. The bathroom was terribly small, so small there was no sink inside of it, it was actually outside near the beds which was odd to me. Some of the towels we had looked too worn and ragged. The air conditioner was very loud and didn't seem to work great. Really, if you can get past those kinds of things, then staying here won't be a bad choice for you. I think for the short 3 days trip we had it was fine. It definitely beats camping in a tent at a park.

Yelp
Great location and has indoor pool! Indoor pool is key for a rainy weekend with kids. Three stars are due to the blood on the bathroom floor and random socks under the bed from previous visitors. Blood was cleaned up immediately after calling the front office. Friendly staff!

Yelp
The Parkwood Lodge is an older facility. It's obviously been around for a while. Don't expect new and shiny here, but our room was clean and had been renovated and the staff were attentive, polite and efficient. It was a little chilly and rainy when we were there so we didn't get to use the grounds, but they have a nice play area for kids, tennis courts, and a fire pit. The outside of the building has flaking paint and wasn't as well kept as I expected, but inside the room was nice. There is also a lot of free space in and among the buildings which we liked. This is a nice mid-tier place to stay in Fish Creek on vacation. It's about 1.5 miles outside of town, not walkable, but a short car ride will get you anywhere you want to go. We liked it.

Yelp
We stayed in the "suite". It was dirty and musty, there were cobwebs in the corners and it just needs a deep clean. The coffee pot was dirty. The mattress was so lumpy and majorly uncomfortable. The furniture was also so worn and uncomfortable. Overall, the room needs to be updated. It is just old and worn, ripped carpeting and a broken refrigerator. This place needs an upgrade. Also, the wifi is terrible. Don't plan on checking your email without using data. The positive here is the land, such a beautiful piece of property and the staff is so nice! There are great people who work here!

Yelp
This hotel has everything. Old video game machines, a 5 foot deep pool, a hot tub, tennis courts, internet, tv, seroogy's candy bars, air conditioning, the works. The seroogys bars were not bad. The pool was a bit cold but refreshing. Hot tub was piping hot. However, the place could use some updating, better illumination in the pool area, and tidying up in the tennis courts and porches.

Yelp
Comfortable rooms in two story buildings on a wooded campus. The prices may seem high for an older motel complex but for this area it is reasonable. The staff is helpful and love answering questions about the locale. There is a separate building for the swimming pool and hot tub. I found the pool water cold and the hot tub not too hot. The room layout is a bit awkward with a tiny bathroom and no sink. The sink was around the corner next to a queen size bed, there is a partition and another sink for kitchen use, but this is not really a kitchen. The grounds and building are well maintained and kept extremely clean and comfortable. There is a large cable TV selection and free Wi-Fi. The area is far enough off the highway to be quiet. The window faced the backyard area so it was truly dark at night without flood lights or neon trying to break through. If you need something you don't see in the room (like an iron and board) you will have to ask at the office as they must have had problems with guests packing items in their trunks-too bad there are those who see no problem ripping off small businesses.

Yelp
For the pleasure of spending $137.00 a night you can stay in this dated, funky smelling motel that has curtain rods falling out of the wall as well as rust inside the frig. There is absolutely nothing nice about this place and I am very sorry we booked a room here. Never again ~ Nor should you.

Rick D.

Yelp
Keep in mind before you book that this is a motel. My initial first impression was bleak. We had to park far away from our room because of the highly limited parking and the numerous people who took up multiple spaces with campers. However, the room was very nice and updated. I really appreciated the vinyl floors instead of carpet. The beds were comfortable, but the AC unit didn't work that well on a hot summer night. The pool water was extremely cloudy and far too cold. The tennis courts were a surprise amenity that kept my son busy. Very excellent location close to County A - a road you can use to easily zip to the southern part of the peninsula. WiFi didn't work at all for any of us.

Yelp
Stayed 4 nights. This place is little out dated. The bed in the room was so bounce I felt like I was on a trampoline. The pool was wonderful but the hot tub at 106° was a little to hot and that was from everyone in there. Other than that is was just an average place nothing special.

Yelp
Basic hotel room with exterior entry. Sink in the sleeping area. Clean but the bathroom could use some drywall repair. Nice room for an affordable price.

Yelp
Great place at a great price. Fantastic indoor pool. Lots of remodelling done. Friendly owners.

Yelp
Price and location was the best thing about this place. It was dated and smelled funny. It wasn't terrible however I probably would skip it for next time.

Larry D.

Yelp
Vintage (1970) facilities, but clean and well maintained. Comfortable beds, in room AC quiet and effective. Free internet, refrigerator and microwave. Friendly, helpful staff. No restaurant or free breakfast. Quiet location about 1.5 miles from restaurants and downtown Fish Creek.

Yelp
We stayed here as part of a wedding party in The summer. The wedding was in Peninsula State Park so the location was wonderful. If you are planning a lot of activities in the park area, this location is great. It's not in the middle of Main Street, it's just a tiny bit off the main stretch, which was great for us because it was quiet and secluded. The staff was VERY accommodating with the fact that we had to check out for one night (the bridal party was staying in a cabin the night before the wedding) and then check back in the next night. There was an issue with check in on the night of the wedding, but it was handled professionally and efficiently, which was VERY much appreciated! Basically by the time we made it to the hotel to re-check in, it was considered a late check in, but the key was not there for us. After having a personal mini meltdown and calling the after hours number, the owner was very quick to call us back (considering it was 2:00am) and work out how to get us into our room so we could crash. Both the owner and the staff member who showed up to let us in the room and check us in were very apologetic and kind (and quick which was wonderful since we were so tired). The lodge also handled reimbursement for the issue, which was greatly appreciated. We stayed in their updated rooms which were lovely and comfortable. Overall a great experience!

Yelp
Pleasantly surprised! Our room was extremely clean, the staff (Jason) was amazing and the location was excellent. The price was much cheaper than most places in the area so it was a great value. The hotel has a hot tub, a firepit and free coffee:)
