On the Grid : Parliament Hill Farmers' Market

"This food market - which is open every Saturday from 10am-2pm - stocks a variety of produce from fruit and veg to fish, meat, pies, cakes and bread and is a great place to pick up some tasty picnic supplies. Cooked foods like sausage butties and Confit Boeuf are also served. As the market is based in a school playground (accessed via the Heath), dog walkers are asked to leave their pets in the dog creche area which is always a welcome sight to see all variety of breeds hanging out together." - Chrissie Macdonald & Andrew Rae

One of the best farmers markets in London, hands down. My favorite one for sure! Has everything you need.. from fresh fruits, veggies, milk, treats/pastries, cheese, meats, prepared food, flowers.. it’s awesome! Well organized, spacious, beautiful backdrop of Parliament Hill.. plenty of space to hang out and chill / eat too with lawns and grassy knolls, hills nearby Worth checking out for sure!

Awesome market - so many great stalls and when looking around, regulars always commented to us why they come back and the quality of the food.

My first and last time going- I usually frequent the Marlybone Farmers Market, but was in the area and thought lets give it a shot! great farming stands but really rude service. The door was open so I walked in (my first time, so I wasn’t aware of the rules). I got shouted at for being inside and was told to leave. I understand that’s my oversight, but I genuinely wasn’t aware that you arent allowed to just go in, as that is the norm with the other places I go to. I went to multiple stands and noone had an issue, until the ticketing woman saw me trying to pay. She started shouting at me, very loudly & basically kicked me out before I could even pay for my veg. I was already leaving anyway, but really was surprised by this. It was clearly a mistake, I was confused by this, as I have never been. I feel as if she could have communicated that without being so rude. The way she behaved and spoke to me is as if I stole something… I work in hospitality and if I spoke to my customers this way I’d absolutely have a disciplinary talk. Also crazy that you have to buy ticketsv for a farmers market, I much more recommend the Marlybone Farmer’s Market which is much more welcoming. Unless you like to queue and pay to even go in & potentially be shouted at. Another con: no dogs allowed.

Nice sparkling farmers market. We went to do a relaxing walk in Hampstead Heath and we had find that market. Nice food selled, obviously the price are bit higher but you feel the quality. Good coffee, amazing cheeses and tasty bread, don't forget the quiche with pumpkin. Good money spent well. A bit crowded but manageble.

Lovely find - fair amount of seasonal produce direct from farms. Fair prices too. Bought a punnet of big fresh cherries, 100% cherry juice and a dozen oysters (shucked for you for £18!). Will definitely be back more regularly.

This market was fantastic! Fresh fruit and veg, doughnuts, pizza, homemade ice cream, and so much more. My family loved it. I can't wait to go back.

Yelp
The Parliament Hill Farmer's Market is one of my favourite markets in London...mostly for its location though: I love taking my dog for a long walk in the Heath on a Saturday morning and finish it off with a visit here...buying fresh fruits and vegetables for a proper Saturday lunch. I really like the selection of stall that set up shop here; my favourite - by far though - is Little Jack Horner's with the friendliest and most cheerful business owner I've met in a long time. While dogs are not allowed on this market, there is a doggie area where you can tie u your dog and let him/her sniff at another doggies butt ;-)

Yelp
Great location easily accessible from within the Heath and from the street and lots of variety - flowers, pastries, produce, meat, hot food - and decently priced with an appropriately limited amount of seating on site. My one complaint is the lack of rubbish bins and while the dog parking area is a thoughtful siting to tether your canine while you shop, the chorus of incessant barking overtakes any serenity you would otherwise experience while you browse/stroll/shop.
