Visited during the week of Christmas. Beautifully decorated, although a little harder to get to the area with the stands assembled for the celebrations but still worth exploring

Our visit to the Parliament Square was filled with great surprises. The square was laid out in the late 1700s to early 1800s by loyalist refugees from North Carolina following the American Revolutionary War. The buildings reflect both British colonial and American Federal styles, reminiscent of structures in New Bern, North Carolina. We had the opportunity to interact with some government officials who invited us inside the lobby and explained the history and political views of the area. Entry is free, and the square is open to the public. You can also enter the building to visit the Assembly Gallery if it is in session. The best time to visit is on weekdays during the session months of January, April, July, and October, when you can see the Parliament in action. Don’t forget to go to the back of the building, where you can explore the garden and other important buildings, such as the library and the Supreme Court.

We were surprised how the buildings of Parliament Square resemble colonial buildings in the United States. We learned these were originally built by Loyalist from North Carolina. There are three main buildings all painted Bahamian Pink. We really liked the history and the lively colors.

Clean, painted, lightly photographic. Desperately needs tables & chairs, and some bronze or stainless steel art, and a non-alcoholic drinks concession, and some very high shade sails between the buildings.

Great place if you're a capitol building nerd such as myself. Safe lush grounds and cool, colorful buildings make it a must-see for the government building buff in all of us. Pros: Pink buildings In the thick of everything, easy to get to Cons: Some construction equipment visible in photos

The square was a historic mansion of former British Government Colonial Administrative location in the town center right across from the cruise terminal. The building is painted as a nationalistic color to represent the true color of Bahamas.

Bahamian are "Proud to be Bahamian!" The Bahamas recently celebrated its 50th independence and decorated Parliament Square and it was beautiful. I took these photos in the day but at night it's lighted and just as gorgeous if not more.
